The gene section ordering on solving traveling salesman problems is analyzed by numerical experiments. Some improved crossover operations are presented. Several combinations of genetic operations are examined and the functions of these operations are analyzed. The essentiality of the ordering of the gene section and the significance of the evolutionary inversion operation are discussed. Some results and conclusions are obtained and given, which provide useful information for the implementation of the genetic operations for solving the traveling salesman problem.

A doubly clamped microbeam actuated by electrostatic force with squeezed gas film damping is a well-known and standard micro-device in microelectromechanical system (MEMS) for many researchers to demonstrate how reduced-order dynamic macromodel is an effective way to faithfully capture the device behaviors. However it still takes time to directly recompute the time-dependant nonlinear terms in macromodels which are generated by a proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) method with Galerkin procedure at every time step during the macromodel simulation. This paper proposes two methods for speeding up the computation of macromodel simulations. In the first method, the computation speedup is achieved based on the concept of precomputation upon the basis functions are available. In the second method, cubic splines approximation is used to interpolate the basis functions and their first and second derivatives, and spatial integration is performed by application of the Gaussian quadrature. Numerical results show both methods could enhance the efficiency of the macromodel simulation compared with our previous computation results.

The optimization of agents' initial properties enables agents to perform their assigned tasks more perfectly. This paper presents an optimizing method using the combination of radial basis function (RBF) neural network and genetic algorithm (GA). In the land combat simulation, the method can ensure that the agents optimized defeat the agents not optimized absolutely. Compared with the optimization based on support vector machines (SVM), the proposed method improves the efficiency more than twenty times, so it suits the cases where the speed as well as performance is required.

Computational intelligence is the computational simulation of the bio-intelligence, which includes artificial neural networks, fuzzy systems and evolutionary computations. This article summarizes the state of the art in the field of simulated modeling of vibration systems using methods of computational intelligence, based on some relevant subjects and the authors' own research work. First, contributions to the applications of computational intelligence to the identification of nonlinear characteristics of packaging are reviewed. Subsequently, applications of the newly developed training algorithms for feedforward neural networks to the identification of restoring forces in multi-degree-of-freedom nonlinear systems are discussed. Finally, the neural-network-based method of model reduction for the dynamic simulation of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) using generalized Hebbian algorithm (GHA) and robust GHA is outlined. The prospects of the simulated modeling of vibration systems using techniques of computational intelligence are also indicated.

To overcome the shortcoming, wavelet transform is used to determine the bandwidth of the filtering signal. RBF neural network is employed to replace conventional image reconstruction algorithms, which has fast and accurate advantages. A fuzzy sliding mode load frequency control method for multiarea interconnected power systems is proposed in this paper. The method using sliding mode surface with integral model makes the systems can reach on switching surface from any initial state. After reaching on switching surface, systems are controlled by PI controller based on new area control error. The coefficient of switching control is adjusted by fuzzy control model automatically. When considering generation rate constraint and the governor deadband nonlinearity, the proposed control method can make systems have good dynamic performance. The design of controller in each area only considers the state information of itself area, and doesn't consider the one of the others, thus make decentrilised control be easier. Simulation results show that the proposed method is simple, effective, and can ensure that the overall system is asymptotically stable.
