A vast number of technologies based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) have proliferated into various application domains. As part of its objectives to develop agents which can behave and think like humans, some branches of AI have focused on developing various algorithms that can learn from input data without explicitly being programmed. In the food industry, notably in restaurants, smartphone technology is typically used to collect data from customers efficiently such as orders or feedback toward the services provided. The use of smartphones by some restaurants is motivated by their convenience and efficiency. Furthermore, various promotions, discounts, and membership benefits offered by cellular service providers have attracted the use of smartphones as devices for improving restaurant services to their customers. This study aimed to conduct a sentiment analysis related to multi-brand restaurants in Indonesia based on customer feedback. The data retrieved from the Google Play Store consists of 756 reviews from Boga, Champs, Hangry, Ismaya, Kulo, and Union groups. In this study, TF-IDF was used as a vectorizer to represent customer feedback as numeric vectors. The polarity sentiment of customer feedback was recognized using classifier models based on machine learning such as Logistic Regression, Naive Bayes (NB), Random Forest, and Support Vector Machine (SVM) as the classifier. The empirical results showed that SVM has the best accuracy of 93.10 % average accuracy followed by Logistic Regression with 92.41 %, Random Forest with 84.14 % average accuracy, and Naive Bayes with 76.55 % average accuracy. © 2022 IEEE.

Opinion has always affected businesses and individuals especially from the Public. People react through social media and spread it incompletely. The situation was then accepted as public opinion. There are three categories of opinion i.e., positive, negative, and neutral. To investigate public opinion on a particular issue of interest, sentiment analysis might be employed. By offering a solution to the text classification challenge, this experiment focuses on the perception of airline tweets among the American public. We offer a method to classify tweets as positive, negative, or neutral using three machine learning classifiers: Random Forest Classifier, Naive Bayes Classifier, and K-Nearest Neighbors Classifier. We examined the performance of three machine learning classifiers in terms of accuracy, average precision, average recall, and average f-1 score. The results demonstrate that the Random Forest Classifier, which produces 82% accuracy, 80% average precision, 82% average recall, and 80% average f1-score, performs the best among the machine learning classifiers. © 2023 IEEE.

As the dengue infection still impacts hundreds of millions of people globally, unprecedented efforts in dengue drug development have been more progressive in recent decades. Computational methods provide a fast, sustainable, and efficient screening of active compounds and newly created drug molecules, including those specifically targeting nonstructural proteins (NS) of dengue viruses. In this work, protein modeling for the NS proteins of DENV-2/16681 strain was performed using a template-based homology modeling for the NS3 protein and an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based prediction via AlphaFold for the NS4B protein. Moreover, the protein-protein interaction between the two structures was predicted using the HADDOCK server, which employs information about active and passive residues of the interaction interface to guide the docking process. After the modeling and its respective refinement process, the predicted structures of NS3 and NS4B improved their steric clashing scoring from MolProbity assessment. The refined models were then docked, and the resulting docking pose was analyzed to extract the interacting residues based on the polar contacts within the interface of the two proteins. Our result presents a preliminary study to create a dataset related to in silico molecular interactions of the NS3-NS4B interaction of different DENV types. It is helpful for building a computational pipeline for elucidating protein-ligand problems in dengue drug screenings. © 2024 The Authors.

Dimension reduction methods are used to visualize the output of unsupervised learning models when applied to complex data. These techniques improve interpretability by transforming a high-dimension space to a lower-dimension space (usually 2D or 3D). The results are typically viewed as 2D scatter plots, and class centroids may be added to increase interpretability. Although useful, the relationship of these class centroids to the underlying feature space remains opaque. The innovative aspect of this work is to create a strong link between the dimension-reduced space and the underlying high-dimension feature space by adding selected feature centroids to the 2D scatter plots. This approach simultaneously visualizes the centers for the classes and the features on the same 2D scatter plot. Since classes are often imbalanced, we provide a method to balance class sizes. We present an automated framework that performs a grid search to find the optimal dimension reduction parameters, balances the class sizes, uses an ensemble approach to find the most important features, and adds class centroids and selected feature centroids to 2D dimension-reduced plots. This is especially useful when applied to complex, feature-rich biomedical data, as addition of feature centroids to 2D scatter plots serve as landmarks for the previously featureless dimension-reduced space. The utility of this approach is demonstrated by its application to seven classes of neurogenetic diseases with 31 defining phenotypic features. © 2024 IEEE.

This systematic review provides a comprehensive overview of the methods used to integrate genomic and clinical data in cancer prediction. The review includes 19 studies across various cancers, including breast, colorectal, melanoma, lung, pancreatic, and thyroid. The studies employed different methods to combine genomic and clinical data, including weighted polygenic risk scores, genetic and non-genetic risk scores, and different machine learning algorithms. The results show significant improvements in model prediction performance accuracy across multiple studies. The review highlights the potential benefits of integrating genetic and phenotypic information to improve disease risk prediction models and inform personalized healthcare strategies. © 2024 IEEE.

LoRa's biggest advantage is its flexibility, which is the ability to increase or decrease data rate and range while decreasing or increasing sensitivity. Whenever propagation conditions change frequently, this function allows the spreading factor to be modified accordingly. Despite their efficiency and scalability, adaptive data rate algorithms ignore and fail to factor in the complex correlation between ambient weather parameters influencing the communication channel design. In this research, a Bayesian surrogate Gaussian process-based bidirectional LSTM stacked autoencoder model (BSGP-BLSTM-SAE) is proposed to estimate the channel performance indicators such as received signal strength indicator (RSSI) and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and to determine the correlation between the ambient weather conditions and performance indicators for the LoRaWAN network. Bayesian optimization algorithm has been used to optimize the hyper-parameters of the developed model. A LoRaWAN experimental multivariate time series dataset has been used for the evaluation of the developed model, which upon testing and validation produces high accuracy in predicting the channel performance indicators and ambient conditions of the experimental LoRaWAN network. The mean absolute error of the developed model was around 0.45. Thus, the proposed model can predict the link performance indicators and thereby assist in real-time optimization of the transmission parameters to enhance the network performance in LoRaWAN-based systems at different ambient conditions. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Tumor-educated platelets (TEPs) are circulating blood cells with a distinct tumor-driven phenotype and act as carriers and protectors of metastases. To date, some studies have shown that the TEPs transcriptome can be used for cancer diagnostics. The objective of this study is to propose a procedure based on differential gene expression and differential gene co-expression analyses to identify a set of key genes for multi-class cancer diagnostics. To reach this aim, we analyzed RNA-seq data (57736 genes) of 130 subjects, of whom 40 patients with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), 35 patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD), and 55 healthy donors (HC). We focused our analysis on the subset of differentially expressed genes (DEGs), and we used these genes to build and analyze the differential co-expression networks, identifying the hub genes. With this procedure, we obtained a restricted set of DEGs that maximize the accuracy in classifying patients according to their conditions (GBM, PAAD, or HC). Indeed, we validated our results by comparing the achieved classification accuracy with that resulting from random selections of DEGs and we obtained that genes selected by differential co-expression (DCE) network analysis have greater predictive power than any other set of differentially expressed genes, including using all of them. © 2022 IEEE.

Digital content industry, encompassing areas such as digital games, computer animation, digital audio-visual applications, and digital art, plays a pivotal role in today's and future developmental trends. Maya 3D software stands out as a crucial development tool in these domains. However, the multitude of built-in tools in Maya 3D can lead to overly complex interfaces, impacting development efficiency for software developers. To address this issue, this paper designs a digital toolkit for Maya 3D software, presented in a Menu Bar format. This toolkit offers features like naming, sorting, categorization, and automatic saving to JSON files for future use. Through a crossover experimental design, this paper investigates the impact of this proposed toolkit on 3D software developers' individual work performance, work engagement, and stress perception. Results shows a significant positive influence of that toolkit on software developers, particularly in enhancing work performance. It means that the proposed digital toolkit effectively improves the performance of software developers' work and reduces their stress during the software development process. © 2024 IEEE.

The translation application was developed using Python and Visual Studio Code as the primary programming environment. Technological progress has led to the younger generation forsaking the Batak language in their daily interactions, perceiving it as inconsequential to their social circle and contributing to the decline of regional languages. There is concern that regional languages, namely the Batak language, may lose significance or face extinction if this trend persists. This translation program is being implemented to aid in preserving regional languages, specifically the Batak language, enabling it to conform to contemporary circumstances. The development of this translation engine utilized the Batak language dictionary. The process of designing, coding, and testing is responsible for creating this direct machine translation. The BLEU score is employed to assess the caliber of machine translation. The study's findings indicate that the % BLEU value for ten sentences was 32.3%. This score falls within the category of sentences whose meaning can be understood, but the sentence structure still needs development. The direct machine translation developed in this Web platform is highly proficient and practical. © 2023 IEEE.

Convolutional Neural network is state of the art of image recognition or image classification. However to build the robust model using CNN needs many parameters adjusted, and choosing the good combination hyperparameter which impacts taking much computation time. Genetic algorithm is one method metaheuristic which is robust for choosing the combinatorial possible hyperparameter. This model also uses ResNet-50 which is a pretrained model of convolutional neural network that consists 50 layers. By using a pretrained like ResNet-50, it will increase the performance model. CNN-ResNet with efficient genetic algorithm (EGA) to optimize the hyperparameter. The EGA algorithm utilizes transfer learning techniques in its algorithm so that the optimization process on CNN can achieve unified accuracy values quickly. The best performance model optimized using EGA outperformed the ResNet-50 model and the model optimized using GA and VLGA in classifying organic and inorganic materials. The accuracy value obtained from EGA is 97.53% with a loss of 0.08. © 2022 IEEE.
