The Middle Eastern and North African region is highly reliant on the oil and gas industry. Subsequently, the need for pipeline inspection and fault diagnosis has become paramount. Current inspection methods rely on manual procedures that introduce sources of error into the results. In this paper, the design for a hybrid rolling and flying unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for pipeline inspection is proposed. The UAV was developed with a rolling frame capable of landing on pipelines to externally inspect them for cracks, leaks, or faults by traversing along the pipeline's surface while maintaining its stability. The hybrid UAV uses a camera to classify cracks along the surface of the pipeline using deep learning models. The paper then tests several models and deploys the best model found during testing -MobileNet100 along with the proposed design for the UAV. Finally, the prototype that was presented in this paper has been tested within a controlled environment to verify the compliance of the flying, rolling and fault detection subsystems. © 2023 IEEE.

This research discussion will be a comparative model proposal for introducing Besurek batik fabric by implementing MobileNet, ResNet50, InceptionV3 and VGG16. This research also analyzed the influence of augmentation data methods, namely rotation, zoom, width shift and height shift, on the performance of the Besurek batik fabric recognition algorithm based on accuracy, precision and recall results. The size of the batik besurek fabric motif image as an input image is $224 \times 224$ with three channels consisting of red, green, and blue, totalling five classes, namely kaligrafi, bunga rafflesia, burung kuau, lung paku and rambutan. The ratio of sharing training data and test data is 70:30. Accuracy evaluations are carried out on several epochs and data that have been shared. Based on the experiment, the accuracy value of MobileNetV2 can be obtained by training accuracy of $\mathbf{98.14 \%}$, validation accuracy of $\mathbf{94.60 \%}$, and testing accuracy of $\mathbf{96.46 \%}$. Then, the accuracy value of ResNet50 can be obtained by training accuracy at $\mathbf{99.60 \%}$, validation accuracy at 97.44, and testing accuracy at $\mathbf{98.12 \%}$. The accuracy value of InceptionV3 can be obtained by training accuracy at $96.35 \%$, validation accuracy at $96.59 \%$, and testing accuracy at $\mathbf{92.50 \%}$. Finally, the accuracy value of VGG16 can be obtained by training accuracy at $\mathbf{99.67 \%}$, validation accuracy at $96.02 \%$, and testing accuracy at $\mathbf{95.00 \%}$. The accuracy of VGG 16 can be concluded as the best model for Batik recognition.

Itis necessary to preserve the Kaganga script to be in demand again, especially by the younger generation today. Using and developing current technology, namely image processing techniques and deep learning, can be one way to reintroduce and preserve the culture of Kaganga script recognition. The purpose of this study is to implement the CNN method in recognizing the Kaganga script, observe the results of the implementation of the $\mathbf{L} 2$ regularization technique in reducing the overfitting process in CNN, and increase the accuracy of Kaganga script recognition using CLAHE and L2 regularization technique in CNN. The collected datasets are divided into test, valid, and training data. To acquire primary data for the Kaganga script, 50 respondents were involved. Each respondent was requested to write a Kaganga script on the provided paper. Organizations engaged in cultural heritage research are gathering data for this project: Yayasan Budaya Nusantara Digital (Jakarta), Yayasan Insani Mandiri Santani (Bengkulu), and Yayasan Sejahtera Bersama (Bengkulu). This study will evaluate using an accuracy measurement model, precision, and recall, which is included in the confusion matrix measurement model. In this research, we conducted four experiments, including CNN with L1, CNN with L2, CNN with dropout and the CLAHE-CNN with best regularization. From the experimental results, CLAHE-CNN with $L 2$ will be found that accuracy during the training stage gets a value of $100 \%$, accuracy during the validation stage gets a value of $85 \%$ and accuracy during the testing stage gets a value of $\mathbf{8 0. 7 5 \%}$

Approximate inference methods like the Laplace method, Laplace approximations and variational methods, amongst others, are popular methods when exact inference is not feasible due to the complexity of the model or the abundance of data. In this paper we propose a hybrid approximate method called Low-Rank Variational Bayes correction (VBC), that uses the Laplace method and subsequently a Variational Bayes correction in a lower dimension, to the joint posterior mean. The cost is essentially that of the Laplace method which ensures scalability of the method, in both model complexity and data size. Models with fixed and unknown hyperparameters are considered, for simulated and real examples, for small and large data sets.

As a field, computing’s deepest roots lie in liberal arts domains such as philosophy and linguistics. As new technologies rapidly expanded the field, the computer science curricula emerged. The current undergraduate areas of study, including computer science and software engineering, focus on preparing students for careers in the computing industry or academia. The “born digital” students of a modern liberal arts institution need a different, less technology-heavy, form of computing education to support their careers as future scientists, artists, or humanists. At our large, research-focused, US university, the College of Literature, science, and the Arts (LSA) charged a task force with defining the computing education needs for their students, chaired by the authors. We describe our process, findings and outcomes here with the aim of offering a reference template to faculty at universities that have experienced a similar growth to prominence of computer science in the undergraduate curriculum. The task force identified emergent themes of discovery, expression, and justice that we using to establish a new program, the program for Computing in the Arts and sciences (PCAS). Our themes and process may help other liberal arts and sciences programs organize the computing education needs in support of all their undergraduate students.

computer vision has emerged as an important subject of study, with several practical applications in a wide range of domains. OpenCV, a widely used framework, has played an important role in allowing computer vision tasks. This study presents an AI-driven Python implementation of the OpenCV framework to expand its capabilities. Data collecting and pre-processing, feature extraction, model selection and training, and Python-based system implementation are all part of the proposed system. A thorough examination of system performance indicates its advantage over competing approaches. The system’s flexibility enables it to handle a variety of computer vision tasks, such as gesture recognition, face detection, and object recognition. This paper advances AI-powered computer vision systems by providing significant insights into the implementation of OpenCV with Python. The focus of future work will be on improving system accuracy and broadening its functional range. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Business Process Automation (BPA) refers to the automation of business processes through technology, with the goal of improving efficiency, reducing errors, and increasing productivity by eliminating manual and repetitive tasks. Over the past few years, the number of BPA platforms has increased, including both open-source and proprietary solutions. However, some challenges and limitations still exist related to the adoption of these solutions, such as vendor lock-in, limited UI/UX, limited integration, outdated technology stack, and lack of support for non-process features. To address these issues, this paper presents the AKIP platform, an open-source framework for developing process-aware information systems (PAISs) using code generation techniques. AKIP generates functional process-aware web applications from BPMN business process models, making it the only known software tool capable of generating fully functional process-aware web applications. To evaluate the effectiveness of the AKIP platform, a case study was conducted in the industry and six business processes automated into a process-oriented web application were analyzed in this paper. The study showed that the AKIP platform was able to generate a functional web application while supporting the automation of business processes with different model sizes and complexities. Furthermore, this study showed that even a team of professionals with little experience was able to produce such results by using the AKIP platform. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Research has been carried out to monitor vehicle tires before they are used and can reduce damage, including overcoming vehicle fuel waste because air pressure is continuously monitored. This research aims to utilize the MPX5500DP sensor as an air pressure device, the LM35 sensor as a temperature reader, and a buzzer based on IoT to build a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The MPX5500DP and LM35 sensor inputs to the Arduino Uno microcontroller are distributed by the NodeMCU, fitted with a Wi-Fi module. The Blynk application sends and displays the data on a smartphone using the IoT-based. Based on this research, data on the percentage of errors in monitoring air pressure and tire temperature on vehicles were obtained by comparing the data to the pressure gauge and thermometer: 1-the results of the average reading of the sensor error value. MPX5500DP air pressure against pressure gauge is 5.3%. 2-the average reading of the LM35 sensor error value on the temperature thermometer is 6.8%. With this research, the air pressure and temperature in the tires can be monitored in real-Time via a smartphone using the IoT-based. © 2022 IEEE.

Recently, a-IGZO has advanced toward the next-generation electronics system because of its compatibility with complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) and back-end-of-line (BOEL) based systems. A systematic electrical characterization of a-IGZO TFT related to reliability issues, such as positive bias temperature stress (PBTS) and negative bias temperature stress (NBTS), would entitle its integration into novel electronics systems. Unexpectedly, PBTS is characterized by the transition of positive Vth shift to negative Vth shift (ΔVth, the positive shift followed by the stress and temperature activated negative shift). This transition is attributed to charge trapping/trap-site generations and hydrogen migration to the active layer. The ΔVth shift mechanism depends on the temperature and voltage stress. On the other hand, a negative ΔVth shift has been observed during the NBTS operation and could be attributed to the hole trapping at the interface of GI/IGZO. An effective suppression of the gate leakage current has also been observed during reliability tests. Simulation results reveal a pronounced potential at the edges of source and drain regions, and considered the origin of hydrogen migration into the IGZO layer. Thermal image results also reveal the strong temperature/potential distribution at the edges of the source/drain regions, indorsing the simulation results. © 2020 IEEE.

The rapid development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has enabled the widespread deployment of health monitoring systems. Traditionally, the health monitoring system has been limited by centralized processing and storage in the cloud, leading to latency issues and potential data loss. This paper introduces a smart sleep monitoring system based on edge computing, utilizing microservices architecture and caching techniques. The proposed system employs edge computing to enable data processing closer to the source, reducing latency and improving real-time monitoring capabilities. Caching is employed to reduce database load and optimize random access memory (RAM) usage. This research addresses latency and response time challenges on IoT health monitoring platforms in environments with poor network quality while optimizing database load and resource usage on Jetson Nano as the edge computing device. Using Electrocardiogram (ECG) data as input, the proposed system yields impressive performance metrics. The research results indicate that the proposed system can increase throughput by 26.92 KB/s, reduce response time by 18.8 ms, and decrease latency by 20.86 ms compared to the previous work. Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) integration reduces CPU usage by approximately 40% and RAM usage by about 81.24%.
