An imbalance in electrical signal flow among neurons causes epilepsy, a complex brain disease that affects other parts of the body and results in seizures. Researchers and neurologists have put their efforts into devising powerful electroencephalogram devices to address the importance of health issues. In this context, machine learning algorithms are used to accurately detect the presence of a seizure signal. This experiment uses the hybridization of two meta-heuristic optimization algorithms: the sparrow search algorithm and the sine cosine algorithm. To conduct the research, this experiment uses the publicly available CHB-MIT EEG dataset, and for feature extraction, it uses the discrete wavelet transform (DWT). ANOVA We use feature selection to identify similar groups. This study uses three classifiers: support vector machines (SVM), Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS), and Extreme Learning ANFIS (ELANFIS). We got 99.8% accuracy, 98.35% sensitivity, 99.02% specificity, 98% positive predictive value, and 1 for area-under-curve for SSA-SCA-DWT-ELANFIS. This shows that it works better than SSA-SCA-DWT-SVM, SSA-SCA-DWT-ANFIS, and other methods that are already out there. In the future, we can integrate this study with the Internet of Things (IoT). © 2024 IEEE.

The precise detection of fire in a virtual system, such as photos, movies, and live stream videos, is crucial for a variety of applications that use various methods. As the name suggests, fire detection can detect the spreading of the fire in the forest by any means, more precisely. To overcome the difficulties of such natural disasters as the Amazon fire or the great Australian bush fire, such scenarios were very devastating. We proposed a solution utilizing Machine Learning with the help of YOLO [4] which could get us out of this hefty situation by detecting fire as well as reporting in a generalized manner to spread the news of fire to the higher authorities or localities. © 2022 IEEE.

In order to overcome the problems of low discrimination rate, high false alarm rate and long average detection time in the process of road traffic condition discrimination, a new road traffic condition discrimination method based on triangular fuzzy number α - cut set coupling is proposed. Combined with the traffic flow characteristics of urban roads and the influencing factors of traffic congestion, this method analyzes the evaluation index of urban roads. Combined with the coupling of triangular fuzzy number α - cut set, the connection degree is determined in the process of set pair analysis and evaluation. Based on this, the behavior trajectory of vehicles is identified tojudge the traffic safety situation. Each index in the traffic safety sample matrix is dimensionless. According to the Lagrange indefinite multiplier method, the results of road traffic operation are obtained. The experimental results show that the misjudgment rate of the proposed method is always controlled within 10%, which is in line with the three-level alarm system, and greatly reduces the misjudgment rate of traffic accidents. The indicators of the proposed method are the lowest, which fully shows that the proposed method can achieve very satisfactory results. © 2021, Aracne Editrice. All rights reserved.

Social media now plays an important role is sharing the views or comments about a topic. These comments are available to the users for their processing and future decision making process. As the reviews contains mostly text or emojis, thus, these need to be processed properly to get meaningful information. Nature is always a source for information and knowledge. Many activities happens in the words, that help to classify the reviews or comments. In this paper, Genetic Algorithm (GA) is considered for processing the reviews. GA is based on the process of genetic evaluation. Different GA operations are implemented to get a better classification result. The reviews are processed using the proposed algorithms and finally, the confusion matrix is generated, which helps to generate the evaluation parameters to evaluate the results. © 2023 IEEE.

In today’s world, sharing a piece of secret information between the intended users has become one of the most challenging issues in computer networks due to the wireless communication medium and the possibilities of information leakage increase rapidly. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain a strong session key for secure communication. The objective of this research work is to generate a strong session key using a Genetic Algorithm (GA) which is non-repeatable, unpredictable, and random. However, in this paper, the key is generated using a GA and the dynamic keys are generated using the standard mechanism Automatic Variable Key (AVK). To proof, the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, a comparison is done with existing interrelated schemes and to verify the pseudo-randomness among the auto-generated keys, National Institute of Standards Technology (NIST) statistical test has been carried out. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Appropriate vascular segmentation is dependent on effective picture pre-processing techniques that improve the contrast of the blood vessels, reduce noise, eliminate non-uniform illumination, highlight thin vessels, and retain background texture. These techniques are necessary for accurate vessel segmentation. Here, both the edge- and texture-smoothed data from the vessel probability map are used in the derivation of the adaptive optimal q-order in the G-L mask. The smooth information is not affected, the textures are maintained, and the contrast of the blood vessels is enhanced, thanks to the proposed filter. In addition to sharpening the focus on the vessels themselves, a Gaussian curve fitting is used to contrast stretch the entire image. Retinal fundus images processed with cerebral DSA are subjected to both qualitative and quantitative assessments of contrast enhancement. Quantitative performance indicators are tabulated and compared to other approaches to show how well this technique works for improving medical images everywhere. The suggested filter is easy to implement, flexible enough to adapt to different images, and effective at increasing both vessel contrast and overall image contrast. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Fog computing also known as Edge computing is emerging as an attention gaining computing technology for providing Cloud services to IoT applications which requires instantaneous and real-time responses. In absence of an efficient and systematic task scheduling algorithm, Fog with limited computing power and resources may fail to handle high traffic and hence may result in delays. Although many studies have been carried out and many task scheduling models has been proposed by researchers pertaining to different application areas, many of these models have some inherent drawbacks like increase in response time and execution time, as well as migration delays which hinders these models from being the most competent ones particularly the case of delay sensitive IoT applications. Hence, being mindful of the mentioned issues and challenges, in this paper, an efficient Completion Time Aware Task Scheduling (CTATS) algorithm has been proposed at Fog Computing layer. We have implemented reinforcement learning (RL), a machine learning strategy that is environment-adaptive, to enhance performance with respect to predict the suitable VM for a delay sensitive task and for this we have used our own dataset. To check the efficacy of the proposed model, the simulation has been carried out using CloudSim simulator and the obtained results is compared with the existing models for the comparison of average response time and overall completion time. Obtained results shows the superior efficacy of CTATS over the QBT and Prioritized Scheduled Mechanism. © 2025 The Author(s).

Internet of things (IoT)-enabled smart home means all the home appliances are connected to the internet. All these devices are monitored and controlled using a mobile device, iPhone, or iPad regardless of location or time constraint. In an IoT-based smart home network, associated users and devices need to be recognised otherwise unauthorised access reduce the security and privacy of the smart environment. In this paper, contributions are first proposed as an elliptical curve cryptography-based authentication protocol for fog nodes and users in the IoT-based smart home environment. Secondly, the simulation for security analysis of the proposed authentication protocol using AVISPA tools has been done. Thirdly, BAN logic is used to verify that the devices in the smart home environment have achieved the security goals. Finally, a comparison with some existing works has been done and it has been seen that proposed protocol achieved better security goals in a smart home environment.
