A smart agriculture framework for IoT based plant decay detection using smart croft algorithm

Internet of things (IOT) is an assuring technology which provides systematic and logical solutions towards the revolution of various realms. Various researches and analysis have been conducted and numerous methods have been incorporated to apply IoT technology on agronomical fields. IoT can play a vital role in timely detection of declining plant health so that appropriate measures can be taken. It is a huge step towards smart agriculture. In this paper we propose a model to build up an automated framework which will recognize the crop decay in the initial phase which is imperceptible to naked human eyes. This model helps in prevention of huge losses and also save a lot of time and labor. The proposed model builds a recognition framework using sensors like humidity, moisture, temperature and color of the plant leaf. The data from the sensors is sent to Arduino to Cloud which then analyzes the data and helps in identifying the plant decay. In the upcoming years, the internet of things will be a crucial bit in the smart farming system. © 2022

Recently, natural fibre/filler-based composite materials are gaining popularity due to their light weight, ease of procurement and eco-friendliness, and greater modulus and specific strength. The study of mechanical characteristics using Finite Element Methods (FEM) has become progressively essential to quantify the composite's strength and modulus with different input criteria to avoid experimental complexity. In the present study, the tensile characteristics of the bamboo filler reinforced composites are evaluated using the Finite Element Method (ANSYS R121) for six different filler weight percentages (0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, and 12.5 wt%), and the findings are verified with real-time experimental results. The data revealed that the numerical analysis findings followed the same pattern as the observed values at three distinct cross-head speeds, and the composite strength may be calculated immediately by solving the polynomial equations for all filler contents. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

At collider machines operating at energies much above the electroweak scale, all Standard Model particles will appear essentially massless, including the nominally heavy ones. The kinematic consequences of this can make the signals for the Standard Model, and for other models, very different from the signals at the LHC or other colliders of the past. The integration of ICT tools in education systems has revolutionized the way learners comprehend and internalize complex concepts. By leveraging smart classrooms, even in rural areas, students gain access to a wealth of educational resources, albeit with certain challenges such as financial constraints and technical limitations. To address these issues, a groundbreaking solution is proposed: the propeller holographic LED display. This innovative design surpasses existing alternatives in terms of Persistence of Vision (POV) and power efficiency. A single strip of LED is utilized, which displays captured images with exceptional resolution when rotating at a consistent speed of 13000 RPM. To ensure optimal performance, the speed of rotation is precisely controlled using a Hall sensor. This advanced mechanism guarantees superior quality and fidelity in image projection. Through a comprehensive analysis of both speed and power consumption, the proposed method demonstrates remarkable enhancements in quantity, thus improving the overall user experience and functionality. This novel approach has the potential to revolutionize visualizations in education and other fields, paving the way for a more immersive and engaging learning environment. © 2023 IEEE.

Hydrodynamic instability of odd-viscosity-induced shear-imposed falling film

In this paper, an analysis of linear and weakly nonlinear stability for an odd-viscosity-induced shear-imposed falling film over an inclined plane is performed. Using the Chebyshev spectral collocation approach, the linear effect for disturbance of arbitrary wavenumbers is numerically examined by solving the Orr-Sommerfeld eigenvalue problem within the framework of normal mode analysis. The study reveals that instability rises with increasing external shear in the streamwise direction. However, as external shear rises in the reverse flow direction, wave energy is dissipated, and the surface wave stabilizes. Furthermore, the longwave expansion method is applied to calculate the nonlinear surface deformation expression, and it is found that the odd viscosity has the ability to stabilize the fluid flow instability caused by a positive shear force. The investigation of weakly nonlinear stability is also performed using the multiple scale method, which led to the Ginzburg-Landau equation of the nonlinear surface deformation equation. The corresponding results confirm the significant effect of both imposed shear and odd viscosity coefficient on the existent subcritical unstable and supercritical stable zones along with unconditional and explosive zones near the threshold of the film flow instability. The bandwidth of the subcritical stable zone mitigates for the higher viscosity ratio while it enhances the flow-directed potent imposed shear. Additionally, the amplitude and phase speed of nonlinear waves in the supercritical stable regime rise with increasing induced shear in the fluid flow direction and gradually decrease with increasing the value of the odd viscosity coefficient. © 2023 Author(s).

The market today is flooded with the counterfeit branded products and there is currently no reliable solution to prevent the widespread flow of duplicates. However, blockchain technology offers a potential solution to stabilize the inflow of these counterfeits. As a decentralized and secure system, blockchain can assign a permanent, unique identity to each product, which can be accessed by anyone but cannot be altered, not even by the owner. This paper proposes the development of a blockchain-based system to assign a unique identity to every product, serving as a tag to distinguish between original and counterfeit items. This identity can also act as an ownership ID, enabling ownership transfer and helping to prevent the illegal trade of stolen or counterfeit products. © 2025 IEEE.

In educational institutes worldwide, the process of formulating questions for assessments and educational materials poses a recurring challenge. Traditional methods often involve manual question creation or keyword-based searches, leading to time-consuming and often inefficient processes, especially when dealing with extensive PDF documents. Addressing this prevalent issue, the research introduces a comprehensive approach to question–answer generation (QAG) from PDF documents. The system uses the most recent Natural Language Processing (NLP) models to extract text from PDFs using pdfplumber, create document summaries using BERT, extract keywords with RAKE, and create questions using a retrained T5 model. DistilBERT is then used to generate the answers. The RQUGE metric is used to assess the system’s performance. The outcomes indicate how well the suggested method generates pertinent queries and precise responses, highlighting its potential for use in information retrieval and document comprehension. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

In cloud forensics, scientific concepts, methods, and approaches are used to find, collect, retain, evaluate, and report digital data in order to reorder events. For everyone involved, including cloud service providers (CSPs), cloud consumers, researchers, and forensic practitioners, cloud forensics is getting increasingly complex. If a criminal want to conceal their dirty laundry, they can use cloud storage to conceal sexual photographs of children, documents related to terrorist groups, etc. To investigate crimes involving the cloud, forensic investigations must be undertaken in the cloud. While attempting to collect evidence, forensic investigators face significant obstacles posed by the cloud's dynamic and dispersed nature. In this paper, Cloud-based forensics professionals are only able to conduct investigations if they have access to the proper tools and techniques for retrieving relevant digital evidence from a device is discussed. It further presents the challenges associated with cloud based forensics and applications to move forward the research in current area. © 2022 IEEE.

Efficacy of image based deep learning CNN models for bolt loosening detection in steel structures

Bolted connections are integral components in steel structures and often are vulnerable to loosening due to cyclic loading and fatigue. Detecting bolt loosening in early stages is critical to prevent sudden catastrophic failures. Recent advancements in image capturing and processing, combined with machine learning techniques have significantly improved the accuracy of detecting bolt loosening. Deep learning techniques, in specific those based on image analysis, have proven to be effective tool for damage detection in structural members. In this study, initially captured dataset of 120 images from a laboratory model is augmented to 576 images using the Roboflow platform. Investigations in this work are tied to one image data set and the metrics are analysed for how well a model performs. Usually, it depends on each use case as to which model would be best suited. In the present work, dataset featured two states of bolt loosening: tight and loose. Convolution Neural Network architectures AlexNet and ResNet are applied individually to the augmented dataset to predict the bolt loosening states as binary classification problem. The results demonstrated an accuracy of 87.931%, indicating that the AlexNet model effectively distinguished between loose and tight conditions. Whereas the ResNet algorithm exhibited relatively better accuracy of 90.8%. Further, an integrated hybrid model (CNN model with LSTM) is also applied on the same image data to further enhance the efficiency of the deep learning frame work. The performance of the trained CNN algorithms was further validated with image responses from various real time scenarios of various lighting conditions and found to be fairly good. This study highlights the potential of using deep learning techniques, specifically AlexNet, ResNet and CNN with LSTM for accurately detecting bolt loosening, thereby contributing to the safety and reliability of steel structures. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature S

It is essential to find creative solutions to the growing urban problems of traffic congestion and parking issues. By using real-time traffic camera photos with image processing and deep learning algorithms to compute traffic density in real-time, the suggested approach gets around these problems. The system speeds up transit and lowers pollution in megacities by reducing traffic dramatically and dynamically modifying traffic lights based on vehicle density. The study also presents a novel solution to the issue of people circling open lots in search of parking spots. The system achieves a remarkable positive detection rate by using thermal cameras and cutting-edge deep learning architectures using Yolov4. The overall accuracy of the YOLO v4 model in this hypothetical scenario is approximately 0.90. Parking lot cruising patterns are illuminated by the precise tracking of several moving automobiles made possible by Kalman filters. In addition to improving traffic control, this combination of state-of-the-art technologies provides insightful information about parking behavior, opening the door to more effective urban mobility solutions. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
