User access control is one of the core parts in the developing Internet field. However, in home network service platform and Web service platform, there is no concrete research yet. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the supplemented authorization policy management framework based on RBAC model in the network environment, especially, OSGi service platform and Web service platform. The proposed access control framework tries to enhance the efficiency, assure the privacy, and provide the convenience at the same time. In conclusion, we provide the base to implement the service platform by proposing the effective, safe and convenient framework in authorization and user administration part

The OSGi provides a service platform which ensures the interoperability between heterogeneous technologies and various devices in home network environment. Nowadays, user access control is one of the core parts which should be cleared, but there are no concrete researches yet. So in this paper, we propose a supplemented authorization policy management framework based on RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) for user access control at home network environment in which the OSGi service platform is operated. The proposed access control framework improves effectiveness, assures privacy and provides convenience at the same time. In conclusion, we provide the base to implement the effective, safe, and convenient the OSGi service platform by proposing the new framework in authorization and user administration part.

We have developed scanning laser range sensor called "SOKUIKI" sensor which is ultra-small scanning laser range sensor adopted for various types of mobile robots as we have already published. As a sensor for environment recognition, we thought the sensor must have not only outputting distance data but also another helpful function for mobile robots. So it was considered that what kind of advanced functions should be provided to SOKUIKI sensor. As a result two most important purposes were acquired. 1. Variation on its distance data and method to get the data. 2. The function for prevention of optical interference between sensors. These rolls were installed to the sensor, and confirmed their effect. This paper describes its result and proposes sensor communication interface protocol (SCIP) which is developed as new command system just for SOKUIKI sensor

Fashion is one of the most visible media of the change in modern society. It reflects the change in aesthetic, economic, political, cultural and social life. Individuals and society use fashion to communicate their taste and lifestyle, teens for example employing different clothing styles. On the individual there are two basic forces involved namely the 'differentiating force" and the "socialising force". Those two forces are central in an individual's self - negotiation between the need for exhibiting and the need to conform to the social norms and are expressed in personal fashion styles. The aim of this paper is to model this expression on the case of teens, more precisely to model clothing fashion preferences of teens employing machine learning techniques.

A new method is developed to measure the magnetizations in each layer of a multi-layered garnet film. This method combines a single VSM and multiple FMR measurements to completely characterize the magnetic properties of layers. This method can be immediately extended to the case of multiple layers or different materials, as long as the requirement for resolving the FMR absorption peaks for different layers is satisfied.

Integral-controller particle swarm optimization (ICPSO), influenced by inertia weight w and coefficient ψ is a new swarm technology by adding accelerator information. Based on stability analysis, the convergence conditions imply the negative selection principles of inertia weight w, and the relationship between w and ψ. To improve the computational efficiency, an adaptive strategy for tuning the parameters of ICPSO is described using a new statistical variable reflecting computational efficiency index-average accelerator information. The optimization computing of some examples is made to show that the ICPSO has better global search capacity and rapid convergence speed.

In this paper, design principles and application of a thin and flexible intravascular top hat monopole probe with increased signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and improved longitudinal and radial coverage are described and compared with the conventional monopole probe. The top hat probe is constructed by removing a segment of the shield of a coaxial cable. A flexible thin copper foil in contact with the inner conductor of the cable is added to the end section of the cable. The copper foil acts as an antenna top hat load increasing the uniformity of the current distribution on the probe and establishes a uniform region of SNR distribution around the probe. Improvement of the SNR distribution of the top hat probe relative to the conventional monopole probe is evaluated using quantitative indices. Experimental results show that for the top hat probe, the ratio of the maximum image SNR to its relative standard deviation (SR) is 2.73 times higher than that of a conventional probe. © 2006 IOP Publishing Ltd.

The standard particle swarm optimization (PSO) may prematurely converge on suboptimal solution partly because of the insufficiency information utilization of the velocity. The time cost by velocity is longer than position of each particle of the swarm, though the velocity, limited by the constant Vmax, onfy provides the positional displacement To avoid premature convergence, a new modified PSO, predicted PSO, is proposed owning two different swarms in which the velocity without limitation, considered as a predictor, is used to explore the search space besides providing the displacement while the position considered as a corrector. The algorithm gives some balance between global and local search capability. The optimization computing of some examples is made to show the new algorithm has better global search capacity and rapid convergence rate.

Reliability evaluation of power distribution system is very important to both power utilities and customers. It presents the probabilistic number and duration of interruption such as failure rate, SAIDI, SAIFI, and CAIDI. However, it has a fatal weakness at reliability index because of accuracy of failure rate. In this paper, the time-varying failure rate (TFR) of power distribution system equipment is extracted from the recorded failure data of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) in Korea. For TFR extraction, it is used that the fault data accumulated by KEPCO during 10 years. The TFR is approximated to bathtub curve using the exponential (random failure) and Weibull (aging failure) distribution function. In addition, Kaplan-Meier estimation is applied to TFR extraction because of incomplete failure data of KEPCO. Finally, probability plot and regression analysis is applied. It is presented that the extracted TFR is more effective and useful than mean failure rate (MFR) through the comparison between TFR and MFR

Low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks are capable of providing wireless connectivity seamlessly and continuously to any part of the world with guaranteed short round-trip propagation delay. As a key part of next generation network (NGN) infrastructure, next generation satellite networks are expected to support a variety of applications with diverse performance requirements. This paper argues that the constellation tomography for the LEO satellite network is a preliminary step for efficient satellite network monitoring and performance promotion. To measure the constellation, a divide-and-conquer mechanism is developed for each parameter estimation by delay probing. The delay measurement is only carried out between two terminals located at the same geographic positions. Performance evaluation on several popular polar LEO constellations proves the accuracy and efficiency of the developed constellation tomography algorithms in divide-and-conquer manner. The geographic position limitation of the delay probing terminals for valid constellation inference is also analyzed in the paper
