Massive off-chip accesses in GPUs are the main performance bottleneck, and we divided these accesses into three types: (1) Write, (2) Data-Read, and (3) Read-Only. Besides, We find that many writes are duplicate, and the duplication can be inter-dup and intra-dup. While inter-dup means different memory blocks are identical, and intra-dup means all the 4B elements in a line are the same. In this work, we propose a cache-assisted GPU memory deduplication architecture named CMD to reduce the off-chip accesses via utilizing the data duplication in GPU applications. CMD includes three key design contributions which aim to reduce the three kinds of accesses: (1) A novel GPU memory deduplication architecture that removes the inter-dup and inter-dup lines. As for the inter-dup detection, we reduce the extra read requests caused by the traditional read-verify hash process. Besides, we design several techniques to manage duplicate blocks. (2) We propose a cache-assisted read scheme to reduce the reads to duplicate data. When an L2 cache miss wants to read the duplicate block, if the reference block has been fetched to L2 and it is clean, we can copy it to the L2 missed block without accessing off-chip DRAM. As for the reads to intra-dup data, CMD uses the on-chip metadata cache to get the data. (3) When a cache line is evicted, the clean sectors in the line are invalidated while the dirty sectors are written back. However, most read-only victims are re-referenced from DRAM more than twice. Therefore, we add a full-associate FIFO to accommodate the read-only (it is also clean) victims to reduce the re-reference counts. Experiments show that CMD can decrease the off-chip accesses by 31.01%, reduce the energy by 32.78% and improve performance by 37.79%. In this paper, we present a new approach to estimate the pose of an object being manipulated by a multi-fingered robotic hand. The method utilizes advanced tactile sensors with high spatial resolution to optimize the estimation of the object's pose using an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) based approach. We defined and derived the state and measurement equations, as well as evaluated the estimation accuracy in grasping tasks. The approach is able to effectively account for the pose transition caused by tactile pushing, and the mapping from the object's pose to the contact position and normal direction as measured by the tactile sensor. The method was evaluated in multiple grasping experiments in simulation scenarios. Results show that the estimation can converge towards the ground truth in a relatively short period of time, with displacement and rotation errors remaining within acceptable levels. This new method has the potential to improve the accuracy and reliability of robotic grasping and manipulation tasks. © 2023 IEEE.

Explainable recommendation systems, which can produce high-accuracy recommendations and help users make quick decisions, have become a hotspot in research field. Most of existing research algorithms committed to improving the accuracy of recommendation, but ignored the interpretability of recommendation. We propose a semantic recommendation algorithm through Reinforcement Learning and weighted meta-paths which analyzes and selects the meta-path, and uses Reinforcement Learning network to train the weight of meta-path. This method can effectively solve data sparsity, improve the accuracy of recommendation, and increase interpretability. Compared with the baseline method, indicators of the recommended methods for integrating Reinforcement Learning with Heterogeneous Information Networks have been greatly improved, as verified and compared on a real MovieLens 1M dataset. Experimental results prove that the algorithm can effectively improve the accuracy and interpretability of the recommendation. © 2022 SPIE.

Global Navigation Satellite systems (GNSS) can provide real-time positioning information for outdoor users, but cannot for indoor scenarios or heavily occluded outdoor scenarios. Strap-down Inertial Navigation system (SINS) are widely used to locate people in complex interior or heavily occluded outdoor scenarios due to its light weight and low power consumption. However, IMU of SINS are noisy, and the sampling data error is large, which is a divergence of the error with time. Therefore, it will generate a positioning accumulation error, which affects the final positioning accuracy. The problem of cumulative IMU errors is usually dealt with by Zero-Velocity Update (ZUPT). The zero-velocity detection part of basic ZUPT method usually uses a single threshold to determine the gait of pedestrian, which often has the problem of gait misjudgment and omission. To address these problems, this paper proposes a composite conditional detection method to solve the problem of misjudgment in the zero-velocity interval. In addition, we redesign the zero-velocity update algorithm and uses the Cubature Kalman filter (CKF) for pedestrian positioning error correction. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed ZUPT method based on dual-threshold detection can better detect the interval between pedestrian motion and stationery than ones with single threshold. The zero-velocity update algorithm based on CKF has higher performance than conventional EKF and UKF methods, which constrains the cumulative error of SINS to about 0.2% of the whole walking distance. © 2023 IEEE.

Edge intelligent computing is often combined with the tasks of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). Most applications of UAV require the location and identity information of human targets. Traditional human target detection and face recognition algorithms require a lot of time in edge intelligent computing. In addition, the final recognition result is not accurate enough. To this end, this paper proposes an improved YOLOV5-Cozy target detection algorithm to detect human targets and faces in a fast and accurate way. The algorithm uses MobileNetV3, depthwise separable convolution and shuffleconv to improve the original YOLOV5 (You Only Look Once version 5) algorithm. Compared with the original algorithm, the improved algorithm has an average detection accuracy drop of less than 5%, and its calculation time has been reduced by 20%. In terms of face recognition, we use the FaceNet algorithm with the addition of a face augmentation module. The module enhances the face recognition ability of the FaceNet algorithm in different environments, and the accuracy of face recognition has increased by 20%. We implement the proposed algorithm on the embedded computer Jetson Agx Xavier for UAV edge intelligent computing, and the average FPS achieves at about 23.6. © 2021 IEEE.

Optimal Sensor Placement for Full-Set TDOA Localization Accounting for Sensor Location Errors

The positioning accuracy of a signal source is influenced by where the sensors are deployed. Studies in the literature for the optimal sensor placement (OSP) of localization often ignore the presence of sensor position errors. In practice, however, it is impossible to place the sensors precisely at the desired locations. This work designs OSP by accounting for the presence of Gaussian sensor position errors that are independent and identically distributed (IID), with the full set of Time Difference of Arrival measurements corrupted by Gaussian IID noise. The criterion is the A-optimality equal to the trace of the source position Cramer-Rao Bound (CRB). We show that the presence of sensor position errors introduces a multiplication factor to the same criterion for the case without sensor position errors. The latter factor is dependent on the ratio of the sensor position error power to the range difference noise power but independent of the sensor positions, implying that the A-optimality OSP in the presence of sensor position errors is the same as in the absence. To our knowledge, this is the first time such results have been derived. Simulation studies validate the derived OSP, show the minimal OSP performance gap with sensor positioning error and without, and illustrate the better source localization accuracy by OSP. © 1965-2011 IEEE.

In the field of cryptography and security, minimizing the number of AND gates within logic networks is crucial. Such optimization significantly influences the multiplication complexity of circuits. This paper proposes a Quantified Boolean Formulas (QBF) based resynthesis to dynamically construct local circuits from sub-circuits, with the goal of minimizing the number of AND gates and optimizing the number of XOR gate numbers in well-optimized networks. Experimental results on parts of the EPFL benchmarks suite indicate that the proposed method effectively reduces the number of AND gates by 15.51 % and the number of XOR gates by 3.34%.

Advance Persistent Threats (APTs), adopted by most delicate attackers, are becoming increasing common and pose great threat to various enterprises and institutions. Data provenance analysis on provenance graphs has emerged as a common approach in APT detection. However, previous works have exhibited several shortcomings: (1) requiring attack-containing data and a priori knowledge of APTs, (2) failing in extracting the rich contextual information buried within provenance graphs and (3) becoming impracticable due to their prohibitive computation overhead and memory *** this paper, we introduce MAGIC, a novel and flexible self-supervised APT detection approach capable of performing multi-granularity detection under different level of supervision. MAGIC leverages masked graph representation learning to model benign system entities and behaviors, performing efficient deep feature extraction and structure abstraction on provenance graphs. By ferreting out anomalous system behaviors via outlier detection methods, MAGIC is able to perform both system entity level and batched log level APT detection. MAGIC is specially designed to handle concept drift with a model adaption mechanism and successfully applies to universal conditions and detection scenarios. We evaluate MAGIC on three widely-used datasets, including both real-world and simulated attacks. Evaluation results indicate that MAGIC achieves promising detection results in all scenarios and shows enormous advantage over state-of-the-art APT detection approaches in performance overhead.

With the proliferation of the digital economy, cloud API has become the best carrier for data transmission and capability replication in software development. In the service-oriented software development paradigm, developers select appropriate cloud APIs for mashup creation based on their practical needs, where complementarity is an important consideration. Complementarity is reflected in various implicit relationships within mashups and cloud APIs, making complementarity analysis of cloud API ecosystems a critical issue. However, existing studies have overlooked the complementarity, and the lack of application variety in the primary dataset ProgrammableWeb has added a threat to the validity and generalization. In this paper, we first build a dataset of two cloud API ecosystems: ProgrammableWeb centering on mashup creation and Huawei AppGallery centering on mobile app development. Then, we conduct statistical and graph analysis to compare the two ecosystems. Finally, we propose a modeling approach to quantify complementarity and perform an analysis to investigate the role of complementarity in cloud API ecosystems. The results reveal differences between mashups and mobile apps in their preferences for cloud APIs. It also highlights the potential of complementarity in addressing the long-tail problem in cloud API ecosystems and improving cloud API recommendations.
