The buildup of solid waste in metropolitan areas is a major worry that, if not effectively handled, might lead to environmental contamination and be dangerous to human health. To manage a range of waste products, it's crucial to have an advanced/intelligent waste management system. The act of separating garbage into its many components is one of the most crucial parts of waste management, and it is often carried out manually by hand-picking. To simplify this, we suggest a customized architecture for multiclass Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). The design includes elements that are individual-specific, enabling the model to adjust to the traits of each class. Extensive evaluation has shown that our CNN architecture, utilising a personalised approach, outperforms traditional CNN models like ResNet50 and VGG16 in multiclass classification situations. The effectiveness and resilience of our suggested architecture are demonstrated by experimental results on our dataset, opening the path for increased classification accuracy of 71.15%. © 2023 IEEE.

The proposed models can design the airfoil by Cuckoo search with Levenberg-Marquardt. The Neural Network framework has impediments due to over-fitting. This paper proposed a modified cuckoo search. here the aerodynamic coefficient as an input to produce output the airfoil coordinates. The generated airfoil is compared to know its performance metrics. The Cuckoo search with the Feedforward Neural Network model yields the lowest prediction error. © 2023 IEEE.

Semi-supervised medical image segmentation (SSMIS) uses consistency learning to regularize model training, which alleviates the burden of pixel-wise manual annotations. However, it often suffers from error supervision from low-quality pseudo labels. Vision-Language Model (VLM) has great potential to enhance pseudo labels by introducing text prompt guided multimodal supervision information. It nevertheless faces the cross-modal problem: the obtained messages tend to correspond to multiple targets. To address aforementioned problems, we propose a Dual Semantic Similarity-Supervised VLM (DuSSS) for SSMIS. Specifically, 1) a Dual Contrastive Learning (DCL) is designed to improve cross-modal semantic consistency by capturing intrinsic representations within each modality and semantic correlations across modalities. 2) To encourage the learning of multiple semantic correspondences, a Semantic Similarity-Supervision strategy (SSS) is proposed and injected into each contrastive learning process in DCL, supervising semantic similarity via the distribution-based uncertainty levels. Furthermore, a novel VLM-based SSMIS network is designed to compensate for the quality deficiencies of pseudo-labels. It utilizes the pretrained VLM to generate text prompt guided supervision information, refining the pseudo label for better consistency regularization. Experimental results demonstrate that our DuSSS achieves outstanding performance with Dice of 82.52%, 74.61% and 78.03% on three public datasets (QaTa-COV19, BM-Seg and MoNuSeg). Lung cancer has become one of the primary causes of death worldwide due to cancer, which indicates the necessity of early diagnosis. In this regard, the present work proposes an optimized model of transfer learning based on characterizing different stages of lung cancer by using computed tomography images acquired from the IQ-OTH/NCCD lung cancer database downloadable from Kaggle. It makes use of a two-step process: first, a U-Net model is used on the patient's CT images to reconstruct anatomical features and reduce noise;second, a ShuffleNet architecture is used to predict the patient's CT stage using the reconstructed image. In addition, to enhance classification, PSO was incorporated into the model so that it can optimize the hyperparameters. The accuracy of the model was at 97.85 percent, and it suggests that the model can become a very useful tool for clinicians to bring about earliest identification and staging for lung cancer. © 2024 IEEE.

Time series data generated by thousands of sensors are suffering data quality problems. Traditional constraint-based techniques have greatly contributed to data cleaning applications. However, cleaning methods that support expressive constraints on time series data remain insufficient. Given the notable characteristics of time series data, existing cleaning approaches are challenged to provide good repair solutions. To address the challenges, we propose a novel data cleaning method for time series which incorporates expressive constraints that support arithmetic operations between attributes and time context. In the violation detection phase, we introduce specialized violation degree quantification functions and design a violation cell discovery algorithm to identify errors hidden in time series data. In the data repairing phase, we formalize the cleaning task as a constrained optimization problem and develop a novel repair objective function that considers both modification costs and conformance degrees of constraints. We effectively reduce the repair search space through the evaluation of time-context constraints and propose a bidirectional repairing algorithm. We also provide theoretical analysis of the proposed repairing method. Experimental results on three real-world IoT datasets across five metrics demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms seven state-of-the-art cleaning techniques specialized for time series data. Specifically, we achieve a 60% improvement in repairing effectiveness and a 70% reduction in time costs with our designed cleaning strategy. © 2024 IEEE.

Chatbots have become a trending topic with emerging platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot, for conversation assistance. Current chatbots mainly focus on the general public assuming a natural flow of conversation. However, there is a need for a chatbot that supports people with various communication disabilities. This research fills this gap by offering a novel technique for a chatbot that assists people with Aphasia, a condition characterised by difficulties with language. We propose a multi-modal chatbot that is customised and designed to assist users with communication disabilities in navigating a website. Unlike typical chatbots, which rely on one form of communication, our architecture combines multiple modalities to improve comprehension and promote effective communication for people with Aphasia. We focus on gathering multimodal inputs by recognising and combining user intents from diverse sources. The use of Txtai, an all-in-one embeddings database for semantic search improves our chatbot's capacity to process various inputs efficiently. We leverage specialised models like Whisper for audio transcription and MediaPipe Gesture Recognizer for gesture detection to enhance user interactions. Additionally, Rasa Core integration improves conversational experiences for users. We propose that this new approach will make communication more accessible and inclusive for individuals with Aphasia. © 2024 IEEE.

Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) require optimal routing mechanisms for routing in highly dynamic environments. The most dynamic environment is subject to dynamic changes and a lack of central coordination. The combination of bio-inspired algorithms with reactive approaches is a suitable choice to deal with the dynamic characteristics of VANETs. In this regard, hybrid bio-inspired zone routing protocol (HyBIZRP) proposes to find the optimal shortest path with a limited number of vehicles for routing messages. In HyBIZRP, phase 1 follows a modified proactive mode and phase 2 follows an enhanced reactive mode for routing. Using modified Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) in HyBIZRP provides optimal routing with low overhead and delay. The proposed HyBIZRP and existing works are simulated in Network Simulator (NS 2). Important metrics such as throughput, packet delivery ratio (PDR), overhead (OH), and end-to-end delay (EED) were used to compare the proposed HyBIZRP with proactive enhanced bio-inspired routing algorithm (EBIRA), reactive improved distance-based Ant Colony Optimization Routing (IDBACOR), and Enhanced Hybrid Ant Colony Optimization Routing Protocol (EHACORP). The simulation outputs show that the proposed HyBIZRP is superior in all aspects compared to EBIRA, IDBACOR, and EHACORP. © 2023 IEEE.

Alzheimer's disease, the predominant form of dementia, progressively worsens over time, initially causing mild memory loss and eventually severely hampering daily tasks and communication abilities. This degenerative condition affects regions of the brain integral to cognition, memory, and language. Due to its intricate nature, symptom experiences and progression can vary among individuals. This study proposes a predictive model to discern Alzheimer's stages. Leveraging 'deep learning' techniques through convolutional neural networks (CNNs), the algorithm is trained on an extensive dataset of brain MRI scans. It learns to recognize pivotal features and correlate them with diverse disease phases. The Customized CNN model's accuracy of 94.37% surpasses alternative machine learning methods, including transfer learning. This precision empowers early prediction, significantly benefiting patient care and therapeutic strategies, thereby enhancing Alzheimer's disease management. © 2023 IEEE.

The agricultural sector is the scientific and artistic cultivation of plants and animals. Agriculture has an important role in India's economy, which covers a significant 60.45% of the country's land and stands as the world's second-largest agricultural sector, driving economic growth through its diverse produce and associated industries. Soil composition really matters for growing stuff. Elements like Nitrogen, Phosphorous, & Potassium play a big role. The way you rotate crops, soil moisture, and even temperature all affect how well things grow. Rainfall is important too. Research has shown that using machine learning can help figure out the best crops to grow. They utilize methods that include Random Forest (RF), Decision Tree (DT), and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for this. The study also looks into deep learning methods to make the model even better. In addition to predicting crop yields, it also provides detailed information on the required amounts of soil elements and their associated costs. The new model offers superior precision compared to the current one. The system examines the provided data and assists farmers in forecasting a crop, which subsequently aids in achieving financial gains. The prediction of a suitable yield takes into account the meteorological and soil parameters of the area. This Python-based system utilizes advanced algorithms to optimize decision-making, forecasting the most lucrative outcomes in various situations while streamlining costs and boosting productivity. The study employs Support Vector Machines (SVM) as an example of Machine Learning (ML) method, while Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) are used as Deep Learning (DL) techniques. © 2024 IEEE.

Currently,most existing inductive relation prediction approaches are based on subgraph structures,with subgraph features extracted using graph neural networks to predict ***,subgraphs may contain disconnected regions,which usually represent different semantic *** not all semantic information about the regions is helpful in relation prediction,we propose a relation prediction model based on a disentangled subgraph structure and implement a feature updating approach based on relevant semantic *** indirectly achieve the disentangled subgraph structure from a semantic perspective,the mapping of entity features into different semantic spaces and the aggregation of related semantics on each semantic space are *** disentangled model can focus on features having higher semantic relevance in the prediction,thus addressing a problem with existing approaches,which ignore the semantic differences in different subgraph ***,using a gated recurrent neural network,this model enhances the features of entities by sorting them by distance and extracting the path information in the ***,it is shown that when there are numerous disconnected regions in the subgraph,our model outperforms existing mainstream models in terms of both Area Under the Curve-Precision-Recall(AUC-PR)and Hits@*** prove that semantic differences in the knowledge graph can be effectively distinguished and verify the effectiveness of this method.
