An accurate estimation of future stock prices can help investors maximize their profits. The current advancements in the area of artificial intelligence (AI) have proven prevalent in the financial sector. Besides, stock market prediction is difficult owing to the considerable volatility and unpredictability induced by numerous factors. Recent approaches have considered fundamental, technical, or macroeconomic variables to find hidden complex patterns in financial data. At the macro level, there exists a spillover effect between stock pairs that can explain the variance present in the data and boost the prediction performance. To address this interconnectedness defined by intrasector stocks, we propose a hybrid relational approach to predict the future price of stocks in the American, Indian, and Korean economies. We collected market data of large-, mid-, and small-capitalization peer companies in the same industry as the target firm, considering them as relational features. To ensure efficient feature selection, we have utilized a data-driven approach, i.e., random forest feature permutation (RF2P), to remove noise and instability. A hybrid prediction module consisting of temporal convolution and linear model (TCLM) is proposed that considers irregularities and linear trend components of the financial data. We found that RF2P-TCLM gave the superior performance. To demonstrate the real-world applicability of our approach in terms of profitability, we created a trading method based on the predicted results. This technique generates a higher profit than the existing approaches. © 2024 IEEE.

Distributed computing has attracted significant recent attention for speeding up large-scale computations by disseminating computational jobs from a central master node across several worker nodes/servers. However, worker nodes are often untrusted and can also collude to gain unauthorized access to sensitive data. Hence, sharing sensitive data with them raises data privacy concerns. Coded computing has emerged as a promising framework for speeding up distributed computing and can be also adapted to address security and privacy concerns utilizing tools from secret sharing and multi-party computing. However, ensuring perfect information-theoretic privacy imposes a strict threshold on the maximum number of colluding workers the protocol can tolerate and, also, necessitates quantizing/mapping data to finite fields. Differential privacy is a widely accepted practical measure to capture the privacy leakage of the shared data. The mainstream approach is then to add perturbations to the data via randomized mechanisms. In this paper, we revisit coded computing, and especially when it is adapted to handle real-valued data, and analyze the privacy guarantees through the lens of differential privacy in terms of the (?,d)-differential privacy metric, for the first time in the literature. All the computations are done over the field of real/complex numbers and data privacy, in terms of differential privacy, is attained by adding noise terms in a certain structured way. In particular, the noise is added through the secret sharing mechanism (which can be, in principle, decoded and cancelled out at the master) as means of ensuring differential privacy. Furthermore, we propose a differentially private distributed matrix multiplication protocol for matrix multiplications that keeps the privacy of data in the worst adversarial case. © 2023 IEEE.

Platoon-based autonomous driving is indispensable for traffic automation,but it confronts substantial constraints in rugged terrains with unreliable links and scarce communication *** paper proposes a novel hierarchical Digital Twin(DT)and consensus empowered cooperative control framework for safe driving in harsh ***,leveraging intra-platoon information exchange,one platoon-level DT is constructed on the leader and multiple vehicle-level DTs are distributed among platoon *** leader first makes critical platoon-driving decisions based on the platoon-level ***,considering the impact of unreliable links on the platoon-level DT accuracy and the consequent risk of unsafe decision-making,a distributed consensus scheme is proposed to negotiate critical decisions *** successful negotiation,vehicles proceed to execute critical decisions,relying on their vehicle-level ***,a Space-Air-Ground-Integrated-Network(SAGIN)enabled information exchange is utilized to update the platoon-level DT for subsequent safe decision-making in scenarios with unreliable links,no roadside units,and obstructed ***,based on this framework,an adaptive platooning scheme is designed to minimize total delay and ensure driving *** results indicate that our proposed scheme improves driving safety by 21.1％and reduces total delay by 24.2％in harsh areas compared with existing approaches.

COVID-19, is one of the deadliest pandemic hit globally crises in the recent years, continues to persist with emerging variants of concern. Due to the virus's high transmissibility, rapid and precise detection of COVID-19 is crucial for timely medical intervention. This research presents an advanced deep transfer learning approach for quantifying the severity of COVID-19 infection from CT lung images. Using computer vision techniques, lung regions were extracted from CT scans through semantic segmentation using SegNet. An enhanced U-Net architecture, integrated with the Atrous Spatial Pyramid Pooling (ASPP) technique, was employed to semantically segment the infected regions of the lungs. Based on the segmented infection areas, the severity of the infection was classified into mild, moderate, and severe. The proposed framework, which incorporates lung extraction followed by Ground-Glass Opacity (GGO) segmentation, achieves the segmentation accuracy of 96% and a prediction accuracy of 98.9%. © 2024 IEEE.

Social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram are vast repositories of trending global news. They generate an enormous amount of data, offering a valuable resource for both academic researchers and IT marketing teams. These data can be harnessed for various insights and applications. A prominent and pressing research area within this data is the detection of sarcasm and fake news. The internet is rife with misleading and false information, often causing widespread confusion. Current research primarily categorizes news as either real or fake, using machine learning algorithms. However, this binary approach struggles with news that is partially true yet contains elements that could be deemed fake. To address this issue, our work introduces a real-time framework for sarcasm detection, utilizing an innovative deep learning technique called Tensor-DNN-50 for multiclass classification. The TDNN-50 model not only classifies news articles based on authenticity but also quantifies the level of sarcasm within them. Comparative analysis against leading techniques like SVM, att-RNN, and EANN demonstrates the superiority of our proposed algorithm. It achieves an impressive accuracy of 96.4% for two-class classification, 94.32% for four-class classification, and an astonishing 99.1% for seven-class classification. These results underscore the potential of our Tensor-DNN-50 Model in effectively addressing the intricate challenges of sarcasm detection and news classification with unparalleled accuracy across multiple classes. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The recent surge in public space criminal activities underscores the need for an efficient system to promptly detect, recognize, and track criminals. Existing AI-based criminal detection literature, while insightful, has limitations such as the complexity to analyze video data, time, and speed of accuracy when it comes to training the algorithms that call for further advancements. Hence proposed AI-driven system addresses this demand, aiming to automate criminal identification, equipping law enforcement with a potent tool for proactive crime prevention and resolution. The system utilizes the innovative "CriminalNet-228" Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture, meticulously trained on a vast criminal image dataset for enhanced detection accuracy. To bolster face detection, additional computational resources like parallel processing and distributed computing are employed, enabling real-time analysis of extensive CCTV footage. Notably, the system tracks identified criminals, providing law enforcement with real-time situational awareness. CriminalNet-228 achieves an impressive overall Mean Average Precision (mAP) of 0.65 and excels in detecting facial features as small as 4 × 4 pixels, demonstrating its detail-oriented recognition capabilities. When evaluating Proposed CriminalNet-228 in comparison to established state-of-the-art techniques like Fast-RCNN, Yolov7, and AlexNet, it surpassed them in terms of precision, recall, f-measure, and accuracy, achieving an impressive accuracy rate of 99.2%. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

In India, one of the commercial crops is arecanut. The majority of arecanut growers depend on the arecanut production. However, they are also having a great deal of difficulty finding skilled workers to do pesticide spraying jobs. This effort uses computer vision technologies to address the aforementioned problem. This work compares the HSV estimation with the green pixel estimate approach. This makes it easier to position the robot at the right height, where the pesticide spray will work best. In this case, the HSV estimation identified a better way to manage the robot’s motion. Using a wireless camera, the experimental setup achieves an incredibly innovative performance to capture an image of the arecanut crop. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

In the following paper, we explore a study focusing on the detection of wheat leaf diseases using transfer learning techniques combined with cutting-edge convolutional neural network (CNN) architectures, namely VGG16, ResNet152V2, and Inception. The aim is to enhance the accuracy of disease detection while minimizing computational resources and training time. We conducted experiments on a dataset consisting of wheat leaf images affected with several diseases. Through transfer learning, we fine-tuned pre-trained models on our dataset to leverage their learned features. Our results demonstrate that VGG16 consistently outperforms ResNet152V2 and Inception, achieving the highest accuracy of 98.66% in disease detection. This indicates the efficacy of VGG16 for wheat leaf disease classification tasks, highlighting its potential for agricultural applications requiring robust and accurate detection of plant diseases. © 2024 IEEE.

Emotions, intrinsic to the human experience, serve as the catalyst for a groundbreaking technological innovation in multiclass emotion recognition through facial expressions. This study introduces a revolutionary system that harnesses advanced deep learning techniques, specifically Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), to unravel the intricate interplay between emotions and cutting-edge technology. Commencing with a nuanced exploration of the evolutionary origins of emotions, the research lays a robust foundation for understanding the neural mechanisms behind emotional responses. The proposed algorithm unfolds in two pivotal stages: a meticulously designed CNN extracts intricate features from raw facial images, capturing nuanced expressions, while an adaptive RNN establishes temporal dependencies between sequential frames, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the dynamic nature of emotional states. To address real world challenges, an innovative illuminating module is seamlessly integrated, accounting for contextual factors such as lighting conditions. Empirical evaluations on benchmark datasets underscore the system's exceptional accuracy, achieving an impressive 87.2% accuracy post hyperparameter tuning, surpassing state-of-the-art methods. This transformative method not only precisely captures static facial features but dynamically interprets evolving emotional expressions in real-time, marking a paradigm shift in the field of emotion recognition. In recent years, there has been a significant rise in the phenomenon of hate against women on social media platforms, particularly through the use of misogynous memes. These memes often target women with subtle and obscure cues, making their detection a challenging task for automated systems. Recently, Large Language Models (LLMs) have shown promising results in reasoning using Chain-of-Thought (CoT) prompting to generate the intermediate reasoning chains as the rationale to facilitate multimodal tasks, but often neglect cultural diversity and key aspects like emotion and contextual knowledge hidden in the visual modalities. To address this gap, we introduce a Multimodal Multi-hop CoT (M3Hop-CoT) framework for Misogynous meme identification, combining a CLIP-based classifier and a multimodal CoT module with entity-object-relationship integration. M3Hop-CoT employs a three-step multimodal prompting principle to induce emotions, target awareness, and contextual knowledge for meme analysis. Our empirical evaluation, including both qualitative and quantitative analysis, validates the efficacy of the M3HopCoT framework on the SemEval-2022 Task 5 (MAMI task) dataset, highlighting its strong performance in the macro-F1 score. Furthermore, we evaluate the model's generalizability by evaluating it on various benchmark meme datasets, offering a thorough insight into the effectiveness of our approach across different datasets. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.
