Globally, the development of Intelligent Cyber-Physical Transportation Systems (ICTS) aims to tackle several challenges, including reducing traffic accidents and fuel usage, alleviating congestion, shortening travel time, and enhancing overall transportation safety. These systems leverage advanced customer-centric communication and networked control methods, such as inter-vehicle, vehicle-to-roadside (V2R), and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication through the use of vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) to cover all aspects of transportation-based information. In existing systems, once devices are registered with a Trusted Authority (TA), subsequent authentication still relies on the TA's assistance. However, these devices typically remain stationary, and frequent interaction with the TA becomes impractical and costly in highly mobile VANET environments. To address this challenge, we propose a secure access control protocol with conditional privacy for VANETs. Unlike other protocols, our protocol does not require the TA's involvement during authentication between vehicles and RSUs. Additionally, our protocol leverages pseudonym mechanisms to provide conditional privacy, enabling legitimate vehicles to remain anonymous while malicious ones can be tracked. Our proposed scheme is supported by both formal and informal security analyses and has been shown to be secure against several known attacks in VANETs. Furthermore, compared to relevant studies, our protocol achieves 30.2505% of efficiency in terms of computation cost and 11.09276% of efficiency in terms of communication cost, respectively. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

The polar regions of the Earth, specifically the Arctic and Antarctic, play a pivotal role in regulating the planet’s climate systems. These regions are highly sensitive to climate change, with observable shifts such as diminishing sea ice, retreating glaciers, and rising temperatures. Understanding these dynamics is essential for predicting broader global climate impacts. This paper presents a novel approach for monitoring and predicting these changes by integrating an attention-based transformer model with a 3D convolutional neural network (3D-CNN). The proposed model is designed to capture both the spatial features of satellite imagery and the temporal dynamics of climate data, offering enhanced predictive capabilities for key climate variables such as sea ice extent, glacier movement, and temperature variations. The dataset was split into 80% training and 20% testing with tenfold cross-validation, and the model was trained using the Adam optimizer. The results show that the proposed model achieved a remarkable accuracy of 97.43%, outperforming traditional CNN and RNN models. The model also demonstrated a precision of 98.12% for sea ice extent prediction, a 96.45% precision for glacier movement detection, and a mean squared error (MSE) of 0.35 °C for temperature predictions. These findings suggest that deep learning models, specifically the integration of transformer and 3D-CNN architectures, can significantly contribute to polar region climate monitoring, offering improved tools for scientific research and policymaking. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024. corrected publication 2024.

In country such as India due to monsoon and frequent climatic changes leads to natural disasters such as floods, drought, landslides, cyclones, forest fire, earthquake and so on. The post disaster badly impacts on human life, economy and environment. As remote sensing technology advanced, the satellite images with high resolution can be processed and analyzed to get the required results. These analyzed results can be used for rescue operations after disaster or to predict any disasters before their occurrences. Some of the applications such as post disaster event management widely use onboard processing to get faster analyzed results. Various operations such as satellite image- enhancement, compression, classification and segmentation are performed on satellite images. Results of these techniques mainly used in applications such as disaster management, Land Use Land Cover, Change detection, landslide and many more. In recent days, satellite image processing are performed using new technical aspects such as deep learning, Artificial intelligence and machine learning to get fast and more accurate results. Edge-Computing-Enabled Deep Learning and Leveraging Deep Learning are the approaches used for satellite image enhancement. Panoptic Segmentation of Multispectral Satellite Images approaches are mainly used for satellite image segmentation. Deep Learning based approach and Genererative Adverserial Network architecture are applied to get change detection in satellite images. Lossless algorithm for hyperspectral data compression and Neural network lossy compression techniques are preferably used for satellite image compression. Approaches such as Hybrid data model centric approach and Multiscale Convolutional Neural Network are applied to perform object detection. And also machine learning algorithms are mainly used for classification of satellite images. This paper provides comparative study survey on these various approaches used for processing of satellite images. ©

Communities are instructed to stop and reduce close contact with nearby residents as the COVID-19 spreads. Social distancing is a useful strategy for halting and limiting the COVID-19 virus's spread. The main cause for worry is that COVID-19 can travel from one person to another through touch or being close to an infected person. This has been a really challenging task given how crowded some public areas are. A social distancing detection tool is devised that can check if people are keeping a safe distance from each other by trying to analyze real-time video streams from the camera using Python, Deep Learning, and computer Vision. The goal is to create a Python-based system for the instantaneous detection of social distance violations and mask use. To monitor public areas, workplaces, or events, the solution merges security cameras with computer vision techniques and deep learning algorithms. data collection, preprocessing, mask detection, social distancing detection, integration, testing, and evaluation were among the processes that the project went through. The irregularity in the heartbeats caused cardiac arrhythmia, which resulted in serious health problems. This cardiac arrhythmia is monitored by electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. As a result, an accurate and timely analysis of ECG data can prevent serious health problems. However, the conventional manual prediction systems and artificial intelligence (AI) methods failed to detect cardiac arrhythmia because they failed to extract the deep salient features from the ECG dataset. So, this research work implements a model named CardiacNet, which is used to identify and classify cardiac arrhythmias from an MIT-BIH-based dataset. Initially, the pre-processing operation is performed to remove the non-linearities from the dataset. Then, unsupervised machine learning algorithm-based principal component analysis (UML-PCA) is used to extract the features of the pre-processed dataset. Further, the optimal feature selection operation is carried out using improved Harris Hawk's optimization (IHHO), which is a naturally inspired model. Moreover, a customized convolutional neural network (CCNN) model performs the classification of various cardiac arrhythmia diseases using IHHO features. The simulation results show that the proposed CardiacNet resulted in an accuracy of 97.57%, sensitivity of 98.29%, specificity of 97.97%, F-measure of 97.40%, precision of 98.66%, Matthew's correlation coefficient (MCC) of 98.17%, dice of 98.96%, and Jaccard of 97.12%. The performance comparisons show that the proposed CardiacNet resulted in improved metrics over all existing methods. © 2024 Slovene Society Informatika. All rights reserved.

The advancement of Digital Twin (DT) technology has enabled the creation of digital replicas of physical entitics, significantly enhancing the functionality and performance of mobile networks. However, this innovative approach also introduces considerable overload and performance challenges for mobile edge networks. To address these issucs, we propose a novel DT-enabled edge architecture for 6G-capable technology, employing a dynamic resource allocation strategy. The proposed approach, termed DT-based Dynamic Resource Provisioning (DT-DRP), leverages the capabilities of DT technology and Decp Reinforcement Learning (DRL) to dynamically allocate incoming tasks from mobile devices to edge devices. An intelligent DT server facilitates this allocation, optimizing resource use and improving network performance. The predictive capabilities of the framework are validated using the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) dlassifier at the edge network. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed DT-DRP framework incorporates mobile devices into the DT network scamlessly, achieving superior performance in terms of minimum latency and high accuracy compared to bascline Q-learning algorithms across two medical datasets and various exccution scenarios. This research underscores the potential of DT technology in 6G networks and highlights its efficacy in enhancing mobile edge computing performance through intelligent resource management. © 2025 IEEE.

The growing prevalence of Internet of Things (IoT) devices necessitates the strategic allocation of computational activities inside cloud-fog networks to achieve low latency, diminished energy consumption, and optimal resource utilisation. This study introduces a new Human Evolutionary Optimisation Algorithm (HEOA) designed for optimising IoT job placement inside hybrid cloud-fog environments. The suggested method emulates human decision-making to provide adaptive and intelligent job allocation, optimising computational load distribution between centralised cloud data centres and decentralised fog nodes. HEOA employs evolutionary processes, including selection, mutation, and crossover, to dynamically identify the ideal configuration for job offloading, therefore reducing response time and energy expenditures. Simulation studies indicate that HEOA surpasses conventional optimisation methods by attaining quicker convergence, enhanced resource efficiency, and superior scalability. The HEOA diminished energy usage by 12% and cut response time by 15%, rendering it highly compatible with contemporary IoT applications. This study enhances job scheduling frameworks in diverse cloud-fog settings, facilitating improved performance and sustainability in IoT ecosystems. © 2025 IEEE.

The recommender system can predict future lists of items based on the user’s sentiments and interactions. As the data is ubiquitous, we have a number of options available to make a selection. This is the scenario where the recommender system plays its role by narrowing the available options and making the selection process easy and effective. In this paper, we have proposed a sequential recommender system that considers the user interactions along with the items in sequential order and maps the sequences dynamically, in which the weight-age is given to current preferences and recent choices as explored by the user of the system. We have provided a detailed comparison of the proposed sequential recommender system with the commonly used matrix factorization model. The proposed recommender system is based on sequential dependencies and responds equally well to the cold start problem. We have obtained results using Movielens dataset, which reveal that the proposed recommender system is much faster with higher mean reciprocal rank (MRR) value. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to an increase in mental health problems, such as depression. Depression is a major cause of disability and can affect anyone. It is important to seek early detection and treatment for depression, as it can have a significant impact on a person's life. This research paper explores the complex and multifaceted nature of human personality using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) criteria and Eysenck's personality traits questionnaire. The paper then outlines the methodology employed, involving the collection of data through surveys consisting of 66 questions divided into six forms. DSM-5 criteria are applied to assess depressive episodes, while Eysenck's questionnaire evaluates personality traits. The paper's approach involves two stages: predicting personality traits and estimating stress levels. Multiple machine learning models are utilized for these predictions. The results of this study highlight the effectiveness of the Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier, which consistently outperforms other models, achieving impressive accuracy in predicting both personality traits, such as extroversion and neuroticism, and stress levels. Notably, SVM demonstrates its prowess with an accuracy of 91.43% in predicting stress levels. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.
