This paper describes information accessibility and its effects on the reliability of manufacturing systems. To do this a case study of an automated kitting system is used. Reliability in manufacturing systems is a measure on how well productivity goals have been met. An important aspect in the efforts to uphold reliability is the accessibility of production information. i.e., to have correct production information at the right place at the right time in spite of problems that might occur, e.g., data network partitions. If the information cannot be retrieved, or accessed, in a timely and correct manner, the reliability of the entire manufacturing system will decrease. The paper describes how information accessibility can be improved in two ways in a manufacturing system, either by using the material network as a redundant data network or by caching important data to a production unit.

A new system-architectural concept for trainable real-time control systems is *** concept is based on resource adequacy both in processing and communication. Cyclically executing programs in distributed nodes are communicating via a shared highspeed medium. The programs and the communication are statically scheduled by the designer, implying that the maximum possible work-load can always be handled in a timedeterministic manner. The use of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) algorithms and trainability implies a new systemdevelopment strategy based on a Continuous Development paradigm. An implementation of the architectural conceptis presented, in which SIMD (Single Instruction stream, Multiple Data streams)-nodes access their data from local real-time databases, updated via a shared optical link. The communication speed is measured in Gbps and the access method is TDMA. An implementation of the new system development strategy with a graphical developer's interface isalso presented.

Endfire slotline antennas have been integrated on a 1.75 mu m-thick dielectric substrate. The thin substrate allows the upper frequency limit of the slotline antennas to be pushed beyond 1 THz. Antennas have been fabricated and tested at 350 and 802 GHz. The patterns exhibit high directivity (15+or-1 dB) and wide bandwidth. In the future, these antennas will be combined with SIS junctions for low-noise astronomical receivers.< >

Formulas and algorithms for the computation of loss functions and its first and second-order derivatives with respect to both full-state and output feedback coefficients are developed for time-discrete systems. Necessary conditions for a sub-optimal control with output feedback are obtained from the derivation of the loss function derivatives. The algorithms are used for feedback reduction. A method for the selection of important states to be fed back is presented. The Newton method is used to compute a suboptimal PI-type controller with incomplete-state feedback for a distillation column.

A quadratic performance function is considered, related to a time-continuous, time-invariant and linear proccss, subject to stationary stochastic disturbances. A set of algorithms is developed to compute values of thP. performance function when the process is controlled by a sampled data controller. No restrictions regarding the type of controller or the value of the sampling interval are introduced. The algorithms, which have been tested extensively, are useful in the choice of sampling intervals, especially when long intervals are required, in work on system parameter sensitivity, model dimension reduction, reduction of the number of feedback loops etc.

Blockchain video games, specifically video games using blockchain technology, are a trending topic in the media, technology community and business world. While blockchain video games are expected to transform the industry, little is known about how they are played and the players accordingly. The paper presents a 3-stage literature overview study on blockchain video games combining methods of topic modelling, bibliometric analysis, and narrative literature review. In a systematic approach, 1883 articles are screened. Language models are built on 1246 papers, and 70 articles directly related to blockchain video games have been analysed. The results indicate that most recent studies focus on blockchain technology and its financial characteristics instead of players. Hence, more play-oriented blockchain video game research is needed. Future studies may focus on different types of blockchain video games, game design and playability, players' experiences, and critical reviews.
