Implementation of online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in primary schools

The COVID-19 pandemic requires face-to-face learning to shift to online or distance learning. Therefore, the elementary school, which is the most basic level of education affected by this phenomenon, where this research is carried out. This study aimed to analyze the process of implementing online learning, the supporting and inhibiting factors for teachers, students, and parents in implementing online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, good practices for online learning were also analyzed in this study to understand these phenomena in elementary schools. The research method utilized descriptive qualitative research and was performed at a private primary school in Yogyakarta. The subjects consisted of teachers, students, and parents that were involved in the online learning process. Online questionnaires and interviews were used to collect data. The results of this study show the enormous impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the learning process. Learning that is usually carried out face-to-face (conventional) has now been converted into online learning in elementary school.

Intrusion Detection System provides services related to surveillance of computer security, as one of the minimum components that must exist in a computer network architecture. Regarding the adoption of cloud technology, many users have switched to using cloud computers to operate servers, applications, or the web in cloud computing. To meet the security needs of users, various open source and commercial tools are being developed. Although many developments have taken place in the IDS area, in cloud-based IDS many challenges such as security, interoperability, resource scheduling, virtualization still need to be improved. This paper reviews the paradigms and surveys about the Intrusion Detection System that runs on cloud computing in terms of concepts, technology, tools, and various challenges. A systematic literature review of selected papers, published from 2016 to 2020, was carried out to properly understand the Intrusion detection System paradigm in cloud computing and the security challenges faced in cloud computing. We envision "AI scientists" as systems capable of skeptical learning and reasoning that empower biomedical research through collaborative agents that integrate AI models and biomedical tools with experimental platforms. Rather than taking humans out of the discovery process, biomedical AI agents combine human creativity and expertise with AI’s ability to analyze large datasets, navigate hypothesis spaces, and execute repetitive tasks. AI agents are poised to be proficient in various tasks, planning discovery workflows and performing self-assessment to identify and mitigate gaps in their knowledge. These agents use large language models and generative models to feature structured memory for continual learning and use machine learning tools to incorporate scientific knowledge, biological principles, and theories. AI agents can impact areas ranging from virtual cell simulation, programmable control of phenotypes, and the design of cellular circuits to developing new therapies. © 2024, CC BY.

This research is an approach to intelligent vehicles with a LoRa communication system, LoRaWAN compatible for Long-Range and Outdoor Communication, but in this paper, we will test the ability of LoRa to handle autonomous vehicles, a Blind-Adaptive Data method will be tried on vehicles systems. The system offered is when the vehicle is running, the sensor will send position data in real-time, the number of vehicles is four, and GPS data is sent alternately using the Blind Adaptive Data Rate principle to avoid data collisions, and when the GPS shows a certain position, the value of SF is ascertained, which affects the data rate and ToA, and the output given is RSSI on each car, speed of a car, power consumption of sensor nodes, signal power, SNR, Bit rate or data rate, and sensitivity. With the Blind ADR principle, it is ensured that there is no data collision between car position data that causes packet loss.

Hydrolysis of middle chain fatty acid by lipase from Brevibacillus sp

Lipase is a hydrolytic enzyme that has been used widely in numerous industries, such as detergent, food, cosmetics, and pharmacy. The enzyme can catalyze esterification, interesterification, and transesterification reactions in a nonaqueous environment. Lipase could catalyze the hydrolysis reaction of fatty acids. Therefore, it can be used to produce medium-chain fatty acids from vegetable oils. The composting process occurs at various temperatures, resulting in a unique environment that can be used to obtain thermophilic microorganisms that produce enzymes. Lipase-producing bacteria from domestic compost were successfully cultivated in the culture broth and identified as Brevibacillus sp. The objective of this research is to purify and characterize enzymes isolated from Brevibacillus bacteria. The microbes were isolated from domestic waste compost at the peak of the thermogenic phase. Extracellular lipase was produced in nutrient broth and purified using acetone precipitation and anion exchange chromatography on a DEAE-Sepharose Fast Flow matrix. An extracellular lipase was purified 5.1 folds with an overall yield of 15%. Further purification of the enzyme using ion-exchange chromatography revealed that the enzyme had a molecular weight of 55 kDa. Characterization of optimum pH, temperature, and substrate specificity was carried out against the purified lipase. The optimum activity of the enzyme was at 65-70°C and pH 9, suggesting that it is a thermostable and alkali-tolerant lipase. The enzyme showed the highest activity towards p-nitrophenyl decanoate and laurate, respectively. Protein purification using acetone precipitation and anion exchange chromatography produces lipases that are resistant to high temperatures and are active in alkaline pH. Lipase produced from Brevibacillus sp. also has specificity towards medium-chain fatty acids, thus it can be used in industries that use medium-chain fatty acids.

In the industrial era 4.0, it has surpassed increasingly complex technological advances in the information system that required a very high infrastructure and facilities and prevented fraud. Counterfeiting is a procedure following an entity, statistics, or documents (observe forged documents) with plans to deceive. Falsification of extensive information certificates is exacerbated by the current economic situation in Indonesia, which is currently occurring due to the widespread epidemic, namely COVID-19. The spread of the COVID-19 outbreak has had a significant impact and changes in all sectors, especially certificate forgery in Indonesia. The imitation of busy certificates is the main focus of this journal, focusing on journal publications combined with Blockchain technology. The sophistication of blockchain technology as authentication is comparing two or more items or additional tests to ensure the accuracy, correctness, or correctness of the information. This method uses qualitative methods with data sources based on case studies in controlled supervision with the basic concept of cryptography as the basis of analysis. From the decisions made, it is hoped that this will minimize the level of forgery of certificates widely measured during the COVID-19 era.

In the era of digital-based education, the learning process is officially in the AI era. Given recent advances in generative AI, this research seeks to investigate how users of language modelling platforms (Monica Bot) use and utilise this tool to develop design problems (DP) for pre-service teachers and how design thinking can work together. This implies that, today, design thinking can be more practical with the help of AI. Using an interview guide and an adapted Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) questionnaire, this study used an explanatory sequential mixed-methods approach to collect data. The research population was 207 teachers of professional education (PPG), and 32 pre-service teachers were the sample in this study who were selected using purposive techniques and participated in AI and an online survey, with seven pre-service teachers attending follow-up interviews. Quantitative analysis provides a statistical explanation for the implementation of AI bot technology by teacher professional education (PPG) as perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, intention to use, actual use, and design problem. The interview data revealed three main themes: (1) how students’ ideas about how easy Monica Bot is to use changed as they used it; (2) how students’ desire to use grows as they learn more about AI-Bot’s strengths and weaknesses; and (3) how students actually use AI-Bots for design thinking, which means using them as design partners. How pre-service teachers engage in innovative DT activities while navigating the opportunities and limitations of advanced AI systems can be better understood when quantitative and qualitative data are correlated. This study offers implications for future classroom practice and research by understanding these activities, thereby paying attention to attitudes and adding to the existing body of knowledge about the theoretical foundations of design thinking and education using design thinking and computational thinking and the practice

This work used a variational quantum circuit (VQC) in conjunction with a quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) model to completely investigate the corrosion inhibition efficiency (CIE) displayed by pyridine-quinoline compounds acting as corrosion inhibitors. Compared to conventional methods like multilayer perceptron neural networks (MLPNN), the VQC model predicts the CIE more accurately. With a coefficient of determination (R 2 ), root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), and mean absolute deviation (MAD) values of 0.989, 0.027, 0.024, and 0.019, respectively, VQC performs better. The established VQC model predicts the CIE with outstanding predictive accuracy for four newly synthesized pyrimidine derivative compounds: 1-(4-fluorophenyl)- 3-(4-(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)phenyl)urea (P1) , 1-phenyl-3-(4-(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)phenyl)urea (P2) , 1-(4-methylphenyl)-3-(4-(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)phenyl)urea (P3) , and quaternary ammonium salt dimer (P4) . It generates remarkably high CIE values of 92.87, 94.05, 94.96, and 96.93 for P1, P2, P3, and P4, respectively. With its ability to streamline the testing and production processes for novel anti-corrosion materials, this innovative approach holds the potential to revolutionize the market.

The research objective of this is to see how to apply science practicum online using Microsoft Teams and Learning Management System (LMS). The form of this research is classroom action research which aims to apply the online science practicum during the Covid 19 pandemic. Therefore, it is carried out using two cycles in the application of online science practicum. The subjects of this study were students of the seventh semester in the Natural science practicum course. Through observation and evaluation, it is shown that in the cycle I the percentage of practicum implementation which includes aspects of preparation, process and data and practicum results is 87.5%, in cycle II it has increased to 92.5%. In the assessment aspect of the practicum report, the average practicum assessment obtained in the first cycle was 3.09 from the highest score of 4 and in the second cycle was 3.7, while the aspect of student knowledge about the use of the Microsoft team which was taken using google form was 93%. In the aspect of student knowledge about the use of Learning Management System (LMS) by 75% and aspects of student understanding in the implementation of online science practicum using Microsoft Teams by 75%.

Swimming pool is one of the means of sports and play that is fun. Swimming pools must also be considered clean. In order to be replaced with new water. The goal is so that pool users are not infected with infectious diseases due to the dirty water inside the pool. The Mamdani method is the most common method when discussing fuzzy methodology. It was Ebrahim Mamdani who first proposed this method in 1975 when building a steam engine and boiler control system. Mamdani uses a collection of IF-THEN rules obtained from experienced operators / experts. Mamdani's work is actually based on the article 'The Father of Fuzzy, Lotfi A. Zadeh: fuzzy algorithms for complex systems and decision processes.
