The detection of cyberattacks has been increasingly emphasized in recent years, focusing on both infrastructure and people. Conventional security measures such as intrusion detection, firewalls, and encryption are insufficient in protecting cyber systems against growing and changing threats. In order to address this problem, scholars have explored reinforcement learning (i.e., RL) as a potential solution for intricate cybersecurity decision-making difficulties. Nevertheless, the use of RL faces several obstacles, including dynamic attack scenarios, insufficient training data, and the challenge of replicating real-world complexities. This study presents a novel framework that uses deep reinforcement learning (i.e., DRL) to simulate harmful cyberattacks and improve cybersecurity. This study presents an agent-based framework that is capable of ongoing learning and adaptation in a dynamic network security environment. The agent determines the optimal course of action by considering the current state of the network and the rewards it receives for its decisions. The CIC-IDS-2018 database, constructed using Python 3.7 programming, was used. The conducted studies yielded outstanding results, with a detection accuracy of 98.82% achieved for the CIC-IDS-2018 database in cyber-attack classification. © 2025 by the authors of this article. In a cloud environment,consumers search for the best service provider that accomplishes the required tasks based on a set of criteria such as completion time and *** the other hand,Cloud Service Providers(CSPs)seek to maximize their profits by attracting and serving more consumers based on their resource *** literature has discussed the problem by considering either consumers’needs or CSPs’capabilities.A problem resides in the lack of explicit models that combine preferences of consumers with the capabilities of CSPs to provide a unified process for resource allocation and task scheduling in a more efficient *** paper proposes a model that adopts a Multi-Criteria Decision Making(MCDM)method,called Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP),to acquire the information of consumers’preferences and service providers’capabilities to prioritize both tasks and *** model also provides a matching technique to assign each task to the best resource of a CSP while preserves the fairness of scheduling more tasks for resources with higher *** experimental results prove the feasibility of the proposed model for prioritizing hundreds of tasks/services and CSPs based on a defined set of criteria,and matching each set of tasks/services to the best CSPS.

Over the past few years, blockchain technology has gained significant attention. This surge in popularity can be attributed to the emergence of cryptocurrencies and the development of smart contracts. Cryptocurrency is a digital currency that eliminates the problem of double spending. Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Stellar, Zcash, Maker, Aave, etc. become popular and are preferred for money transfers. Smart contracts are the next popular technology on the blockchain after cryptocurrency. It can be considered a piece of code that can execute automatically when the predefined conditions are fulfilled. Researchers believe that the potential of blockchain with smart contracts is only in its initial stages and that its true potential has yet to be fully discovered. Hence, an extensive bibliometric analysis is conducted to understand blockchain trends for smart contracts and to give future directions in this field. For this analysis, various steps are followed, starting with formulating the research question, defining the scope of our research, extracting and analyzing data, answering the research question, and finally, drawing a conclusion. Software maintenance is the process of fixing,modifying,and improving software deliverables after they are delivered to the *** can benefit from offshore software maintenance outsourcing(OSMO)in different ways,including time savings,cost savings,and improving the software quality and *** of the hardest challenges for the OSMO vendor is to choose a suitable project among several clients’*** goal of the current study is to recommend a machine learning-based decision support system that OSMO vendors can utilize to forecast or assess the project of OSMO *** projects belong to OSMO vendors,having offices in developing countries while providing services to developed *** the current study,Extreme Learning Machine’s(ELM’s)variant called Deep Extreme Learning Machines(DELMs)is used.A novel dataset consisting of 195 projects data is proposed to train the model and to evaluate the overall efficiency of the proposed *** proposed DELM’s based model evaluations achieved 90.017%training accuracy having a value with 1.412×10^(-3) Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and 85.772%testing accuracy with 1.569×10^(-3) RMSE with five DELMs hidden *** results express that the suggested model has gained a notable recognition rate in comparison to any previous *** current study also concludes DELMs as the most applicable and useful technique for OSMO client’s project assessment.

There has been a notable increase in research focusing on dynamic selection (DS) techniques within the field of ensemble learning. This leads to the development of various techniques for ensembling multiple classifiers for a specific instance or set of instances during the prediction phase. Despite this progress, the design and development of DS approaches with late fusion settings and their explainability remain unexplored. This work proposes an open-source Python library, Infodeslib, to address this gap. The library provides an implementation of several DS techniques, including four dynamic classifier selections and seven dynamic ensemble selection techniques, all of which are integrated with late data fusion settings and novel explainability features. Infodeslib offers flexibility and customization options, making it a versatile tool for various complex applications that require the fusion of multimodal data and various explainability features. Multimodal data, which integrates information from diverse sources or sensor modalities, is a common and essential setting for real-world problems, enhancing the robustness and depth of data analysis. These data can be fused in two main ways: early fusion, where different modalities are combined at the feature level before model training, and late fusion, where each modality is processed separately and the results are combined at the decision level. The library is fully documented following the Read the Docs standards. A machine learning approach for skin lesion classification on iOS: implementing and optimizing a convolutional transfer learning model with Create ML

The integration of machine learning (ML) into mobile applications presents unique challenges, particularly in resource-constrained environments such as iOS devices. Skin lesion classification is a critical task in dermatology, where accurate and efficient diagnostic tools can significantly aid in early detection of malignant lesions. This study aims to implement a machine learning-based iOS mobile application and develop a binary classification model for skin lesion images to determine whether a lesion is malignant. The research utilized Create ML to develop a convolutional neural network optimized for iOS, employing a transfer learning approach. A logistic regression model was cascaded with the convolutional neural network N to enhance classification accuracy. The model's performance was assessed through various validation metrics, ensuring its robustness and efficiency within the constraints of mobile hardware. A curated dataset from the International Skin Imaging Collaboration archive was used for training and testing. The model achieved an accuracy of 92%, a precision of 90%, a recall of 93%, and an F1-score of 91% in classifying skin lesions. These metrics validate the model's efficacy in identifying malignant lesions. Data curation involved collecting, labeling, and preparing a dataset from publicly available sources, ensuring the inclusion of diagnostically relevant features. The final model was integrated into an iOS application using Core ML and Vision frameworks. The developed application demonstrates reliable performance in classifying skin lesions with high accuracy on iOS devices. The inclusion of comprehensive performance metrics justifies the efficacy of the proposed approach. Future work will explore enhancements in model architecture and object detection capabilities to further improve diagnostic precision and application usability. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Data growth has led to the need to apply new ways to process data. Graph databases are increasing their use, which can be seen over the years, with the Neo4j system being the most common. The biggest problem is the small number of implemented constraints that can be used. One of the shortcomings to be explored is the need to create domains, which are used when large amounts of data are manipulated and where the value needs to be limited or when multiple attributes have the same restrictions and data types. The creation of domains can be applied multiple times. This paper summarises the implementation of domains using Neo4j and the Java programming language. © 2024 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Performance Evaluation of Deep Dense Layer Neural Network for Diabetes Prediction

Diabetes is one of the fastest-growing human diseases worldwide and poses a significant threat to the population’s longer *** prediction of diabetes is crucial to taking precautionary steps to avoid or delay its *** this study,we proposed a Deep Dense Layer Neural Network(DDLNN)for diabetes prediction using a dataset with 768 instances and nine *** also applied a combination of classical machine learning(ML)algorithms and ensemble learning algorithms for the effective prediction of the *** classical ML algorithms used were Support Vector Machine(SVM),Logistic Regression(LR),Decision Tree(DT),K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN),and Naïve Bayes(NB).We also constructed ensemble models such as bagging(Random Forest)and boosting like AdaBoost and Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost)to evaluate the performance of prediction *** proposed DDLNN model and ensemble learning models were trained and tested using hyperparameter tuning and K-Fold cross-validation to determine the best parameters for predicting the *** combined ML models used majority voting to select the best outcomes among the *** efficacy of the proposed and other models was evaluated for effective diabetes *** investigation concluded that the proposed model,after hyperparameter tuning,outperformed other learning models with an accuracy of 84.42%,a precision of 85.12%,a recall rate of 65.40%,and a specificity of 94.11%.
