The Massification of remote work, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, has been causing significant changes in productive and working arrangements, both for individuals, organizations, and society. At the level of personal life philosophy, for example, this transformation can be evidenced in the dissemination of digital nomadism values such as work/leisure balance among corporate workers. On the other hand, at the level of gig/crowd work platforms, the emergence of tensions may indicate the exhaustion of sociotechnical design models adopted by big techs. We show how evidence collected from digital nomads in empirical ethnography studies can inform HCI/CSCWD researchers of design-oriented strands to explore emerging opportunities in new creative digital crypto-economic ecosystems. Finally, we present a proposed research agenda to explore DNs’ activities in the crypto-economic ecosystem.

The learning methods used by teachers in schools in Serang City are very ineffective, especially during the pandemic. This is because not integrated content of material in one subject with other subjects. Never mind between subjects, sometimes the material is not well integrated. The purpose of this study is to provide an alternative learning method during a pandemic, namely a method that integrates material with the realities of life which is abbreviated as IMR (Integrated Realistic Material). The method in this research is Research and Development (RnD) with the ADDIE model. In making this learning method according to the stages from the ADDIE study. The results of this study are in the form of learning methods that are integrated with the realities of life during the pandemic. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Nowadays, various bug tracking systems (BTS) such as Jira, Trace, and Bugzilla have been developed and proposed to gather the issues from users worldwide. This is because those issues, called bug reports, contain a significant information for software quality maintenance and improvement. However, many bug reports with poor quality might have been submitted to the BTS. In general, the reported bugs in the BTS are firstly analyzed and filtered out by bug triagers. However, with the increasing amount of bug reports in the BTS, manually classifying bug reports is a time-consuming task. To address this problem, automatically distinguishing of bugs and non-bugs is necessary. To the best of our knowledge, this task is never easy for bug reports classification because the problem of bug reports misclassification still occurs to date. The background of this problem may be arise from using inappropriate or confusing features. Therefore, this work aims to study and discover the most proper features for binary bug report classification. This study compares seven features such as unigram, bigram, camel case, unigram+bigram, unigram+camel case, bigram+ camel case, and all features together. The experimental results show that the unigram+camel case should be the most proper features for binary bug report classification, especially when using with the logistic regression algorithm. Consequently, the unigram+camel case should be the proper feature to distinguish bug reports from the non-bugs ones. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The Versatile Video Coding (VVC) standard incorporates a number of new tools to significantly improve the coding efficiency over its predecessor, the High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), at the cost of increased complexity. Hence, to meet real-time and energy efficiency requirements, portable devices must adopt techniques to effectively reduce the VVC complexity, including customized hardware accelerators. This work presents a low-energy hardware architecture design for the Fractional Motion Estimation (FME), which is amongst the most critical VVC and HEVC encoder steps. The proposed architecture reduces the FME complexity by operating over a subset of candidates selected to reduce the energy and area demands without compromising too much the coding efficiency. At the average BD-Rate of only 0.34% and 0.28% for the Low Delay with P slices only (LD-P) and Random Access (RA) configurations, respectively, the proposed architecture achieves a 75.5% energy consumption reduction when compared to a baseline FME architecture while occupying only 36.6 % of the area.

The remarkable flexibility and adaptability of generative adversarial networks (GANs) have led to the proliferation of its models in bioinformatics research. Proteomic and transcriptomic profiles have been shown to be promising methods for discovering and identifying disease biomarkers. However, those analyses were performed by trained human examiners making the process tedious, time consuming, and hard to standardize. With the development of GANs, it is now possible to reduce computational costs and human time for bioinformatics analysis to produce effective biomarkers. Moreover, GANs help address the lack of phenotypic state transitional gene expression data as well as avoid protected human data constraints by generating RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) data from random vectors. The purpose of this review is to summarize the use of GAN approaches and techniques to augment RNA-seq expression data and identify clinically useful biomarkers. We compare different studies that use different types of GAN models to examine the biomarkers. Also, we identify research gaps and challenges that apply GANs to bio-informatics. The increasingly massive use of e-Learning illustrates the speed and need for innovation in learning. According to the National Higher Education Standards (SN-Dikti), constructive alignment is required between learning outcomes, processes, and assessments to properly implement learning in e-Learning. Assessment is an essential component of e-Learning. Unfortunately, the problem of assessment in e-Learning is still found. One of them is the limitations of e-Learning in accommodating and processing various assessment data, primarily linguistic. Even though the variety of assessment data, both numerical, linguistic, and a combination of the two, supports a comprehensive assessment. On the other hand, the accommodation of linguistic data raises problems regarding how to process of unifying linguistic data is carried out. Research related to linguistic data using computing with words has been carried out, but it still needs more precise results from the unification of the linguistic data. Therefore, this study proposes providing an assessment instrument to accommodate linguistic data in e-Learning, as well as showing how to process of unifying linguistic data is carried out using 2-Tuple Fuzzy Linguistic. This approach can avoid the loss of assessment information by presenting more informative and precise results in a 2-tuple (s, α) where $s$ indicates the ability level, and α shows a comparison of abilities with other learners and the potential of the learner to achieve higher abilities. This proposal has the potential to be applied in a learner assessment system for higher education e-Learning.

Motivation: Bulk RNA-Seq is a widely used method for studying gene expression across a variety of contexts. The significance of RNA-Seq studies has grown with the advent of high-throughput sequencing technologies. Computational methods have been developed for each stage of the identification of differentially expressed genes. Nevertheless, there are few studies exploring the association between different types of methods. In this study, we evaluated the impact of the association of methodologies in the results of differential expression analysis. By adopting two data sets with qPCR data (to gold-standard reference), seven methods were implemented and assessed in R packages (EBSeq, edgeR, DESeq2, limma, SAMseq, NOISeq, and Knowseq), which was performed and assessed separately and in association. The results were evaluated considering the adopted qPCR data. Results: Here, we introduce consexpressionR, an R package that automates differential expression analysis using consensus of at least seven methodologies, producing more assertive results with a significant reduction in false positives. Inappropriate Benefits and Identification of ChatGPT Misuse in programming Tests: A Controlled Experiment

While ChatGPT may help students to learn to program, it can be misused to do plagiarism, a breach of academic integrity. Students can ask ChatGPT to complete a programming task, generating a solution from other people’s work without proper acknowledgment of the source(s). To help address this new kind of plagiarism, we performed a controlled experiment measuring the inappropriate benefits of using ChatGPT in terms of completion time and programming performance. We also reported how to manually identify programs aided with ChatGPT (via student behavior while using ChatGPT) and student perspective of ChatGPT (via a survey). Seventeen students participated in the experiment. They were asked to complete two programming tests. They were divided into two groups per the test: one group should complete the test without help while the other group should complete it with ChatGPT. Our study shows that students with ChatGPT complete programming tests two times faster than those without ChatGPT, though their programming performance is comparable. The generated code is highly efficient and uses complex data structures like lists and dictionaries. Based on the survey results, ChatGPT is recommended to be used as an assistant to complete programming tasks and other general assignments. ChatGPT will be beneficial as a reference as other search engines do. Logical and critical thinking are needed to validate the result presented by ChatGPT. © 2023, CC BY.

This paper examines the reproducibility of massive information analytics under particular factors. The paper proposes the 'performing Scalable Inference' technique to cope with scalability troubles and to exploit current big statistics platforms for efficient computing and statistics garage of the statistics. In particular, the paper describes how to perform leak-free, parallelizable visible analytics over massive datasets using present extensive records analytics frameworks such as Apache Flink. This method presents an automated manner to execute analytics that preserves reproducibility and the ability to make adjustments without re-running the entire technique. The paper also demonstrates how these analytics may help several real-world use instances, explore affected person cohorts for studies, and develop stratified patient cohorts for hospital therapy. In the end, the paper observes how the proposed method may be exercised within the real world. Actively scalable inference for massive information analytics is pivotal in optimizing decision-making and allocation of assets. Typically, such inferences are made based on information accumulated from numerous sources, databases, unstructured data, and different digital sources. So one can ensure scalability, a complete cloud-primarily based platform has to be hired. This solution will permit the ***, deploying the essential records series and evaluation algorithms are prime here. It could permit the platform to recognize the styles inside the statistics and discover any ability correlations or traits. Additionally, predictive analytics and system mastering strategies may be incorporated to provide insights into the results of the information. In the long run, by leveraging those techniques, the platform can draw efficient inferences and appropriately compare situations in an agile and green way.. © 2023 IEEE.

Microsatellite instability (MSI) is a pivotal genetic marker influencing the efficacy of immunotherapy in colorectal cancer. Traditional MSI examination often requires additional genetic or immunohistochemical tests, whereas histology images, widely available in colorectal cancer diagnosis, offer a valuable alternative for MSI prediction. Although Transformer-based models have demonstrated promising outcomes in predicting MSI from histology images, they are hampered by traditional local attention mechanisms that struggle to capture long-range interdependencies and establish a comprehensive global receptive field. In this study, we introduce DiNAT-MSI, a novel framework for histology-based MSI prediction that incorporates the Dilated Neighborhood Attention Transformer (DiNAT). This model enhances global context recognition and substantially expands receptive fields, all without additional computational burden. Our results demonstrate that DiNAT-MSI achieves a superior patientwise AUROC compared to ResNet18 and Swin Transformer, along with commendable explainability. Our work not only illustrates a more accessible diagnostic tool for leveraging histological data but also underscores the potential of Transformerbased models with sophisticated attention designs in advancing precision medicine for colorectal cancer patients.
