Autism Spectrum Disorder is a pervasive developmental disorder that will affect children in terms of interpersonal communication, social interaction, and imaginative levels in play. Many therapies to help the motor neuron performance is one of them Pretend Play. Pretend Play is a therapy that invites children in playing to demonstrate something else and tell how to use objects that are considered in the child's imagination. However, in the era of highly developed technology, many fields have used the Augmented Reality method as a visualization of various aspects. With this method researchers will present the therapeutic visualization of the block to 3D transportation tool that is useful for strengthening motor nerves and visual strength of the child. The system can run well during marker detection, marker movement, and 3D object display with the accuracy of precision angle and distance between virtual world with real world reach 100% with angle 0 at distance 31 cm and the maximum distance from the marker is 46 cm and the maximum angle is 30˚.

When it's between a robot on your team and a human member of a competing team, who will you favor? Past research indicates that people favor and behave more morally toward ingroup than outgroup members. Conversely, people typically indicate that they have more moral responsibilities toward humans than nonhumans. This study puts participants into two competing teams, each consisting of two humans and two robots, to examine how people behave toward others depending on Group (ingroup, outgroup) and Agent (human, robot) variables. Measures of behavioral aggression used in previous studies (i.e., noise blasts) and reported liking and anthropomorphism evaluations of humans and robots indicated that participants favored the ingroup over the outgroup, and humans over robots. Group had a greater effect than Agent, so participants preferred ingroup robots to outgroup humans.

The emergence of SARS-CoV in 2002 and SARS-CoV-2 in 2019 led to increased sampling of sarbecoviruses circulating in horseshoe bats. Employing phylogenetic inference while accounting for recombination of bat sarbecoviruses, we find that the closest-inferred bat virus ancestors of SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 existed less than a decade prior to their emergence in humans. Phylogeographic analyses show bat sarbecoviruses traveled at rates approximating their horseshoe bat hosts and circulated in Asia for millennia. We find that the direct ancestors of SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 are unlikely to have reached their respective sites of emergence via dispersal in the bat reservoir alone, supporting interactions with intermediate hosts through wildlife trade playing a role in zoonotic spillover. These results can guide future sampling efforts and demonstrate that viral genomic regions extremely closely related to SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 were circulating in horseshoe bats, confirming their importance as the reservoir species for SARS viruses. © 2025 The Authors

This Research Paper presents the evaluation of an instrument to identify the impact of motivation and engagement factors in undergraduate students in computing. Although researches indicate a direct impact of motivation and engagement on student performance and retention, few studies have been found that address which factors are relevant in this process. The instrument is a questionnaire based on the compilation of several works of the literature containing 48 items divided into 6 groups: personal and demographic data, general perception about motivation, perception about the university, student behavior, perception about program and perception about classes/teachers. The questionnaire evaluation is based on a case study with 112 undergraduate students in Software Engineering. As a result, we found that the questionnaire can be considered reliable (Cronbach's alpha = .8904). Considering the validity of constructs, we found an acceptable degree of correlation between the most pair of items in each group (averaging 63%). We also found that the item-total correlation coefficient was only not adequate for one factor group, indicating satisfactory correlation for all other items. Finally, we found that the number of factors is coherent, but there are several items from different groups strongly correlated, indicating the need for a reorganization.

This Research to Practice Paper presents the results of the evaluation of pre-university factors that impact the initial motivation of undergraduate students in computing. Although there are studies in the literature that have investigated some previous factors, this paper replicates a previous work that aims to consolidate several pre-university factors and, as the main differential, uses the AMS (Academic Motivation Scale), a scale already consolidated in the literature to measure students' initial motivation, and evaluate the relation between motivation and candidate factors. We applied a questionnaire to 159 students from different computing programs in ten universities, which evaluates 20 factors divided into 4 groups: personal and demographic data, taste and knowledge of the program and area, computing experience, and school performance. To evaluate the correlation between factors and motivation, we used Spearman's coefficient, t-student test, and ANOVA to evaluate the correlation between factors and motivation. As main results, we found significant variation in the initial motivation according to following factors: taste for programming and technology, knowledge about the undergraduate program content, correct perception about computing professionals, knowledge and experience in computer programming, and general school performance.

Deriving enhanced geographical representations via similarity-based spectral analysis: Predicting colorectal cancer survival curves in Iowa

Neural networks are capable of learning rich, nonlinear feature representations shown to be beneficial in many predictive tasks. In this work, we use such models to explore different geographical feature representations in the context of predicting colorectal cancer survival curves for patients in the state of Iowa, spanning the years 1989 to 2013. Specifically, we compare model performance using area between the curves (ABC) to assess (a) whether survival curves can be reasonably predicted for colorectal cancer patients in the state of Iowa, (b) whether geographical features improve predictive performance, (c) whether a simple binary representation, or a richer, spectral analysiselicited representation perform better, and (d) whether spectral analysis-based representations can be improved upon by leveraging geographically-descriptive features. In exploring (d), we devise a similarity-based spectral analysis procedure, which allows for the combination of geographically relational and geographically descriptive features. Our findings suggest that survival curves can be reasonably estimated on average, with predictive performance deviating at the five-year survival mark among all models. We also find that geographical features improve predictive performance, and that better performance is obtained using richer, spectral analysis-elicited features. Furthermore, we find that similaritybased spectral analysis-elicited representations improve upon the original spectral analysis results by approximately 40%. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. Selection of Student Achievement is conducted every year, starting from the level of Study program, Faculty, to University, which then rank one will be sent to Kopertis level. The criteria made for the selection are Academic and Rich Scientific, Organizational, Personality, and English. In order for the selection of Student Achievement is Objective, then in addition to the presence of the jury is expected to use methods that support the decision to be more optimal in determining the Student Achievement. One method used is the Promethee Method. Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation (Promethee) is a method of ranking in Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM). PROMETHEE has the advantage that there is a preference type against the criteria that can take into account alternatives with other alternatives on the same criteria. The conjecture of alternate dominance over a criterion used in PROMETHEE is the use of values in the relationships between alternative ranking values. Based on the calculation result, from 7 applicants between Manual and Promethee Matrices, rank 1, 2, and 3, did not change, only 4 to 7 positions were changed. However, after the sensitivity test, almost all criteria experience a high level of sensitivity. Although it does not affect the students who will be sent to the next level, but can bring psychological impact on prospective student's achievement
