Classification of the Structural Integrity by the General Vibration Method

Traditionally, for the purpose of classifying the integrity of an engineering structure, one may use the information of the natural frequencies or mode shapes or some other measures derived from the two. In this research, we propose a classification method on the basis of the general vibration model. The general vibration model is essentially a set of differential equations describing the dynamics of the structure under consideration. For the purpose of damage detection, a deviation of the general vibration model from the dynamic equilibrium point marks the occurrence of the damage. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the method, we study two simplest dynamical systems consisting of one- and two-concentrated masses subjected to a prescribed dynamic load. The structural damages are introduced artificially by reducing the stiffness of spring in the structures. We find that the general vibration model is more sensitive to damages than the traditional methods.

A Study of the Sensitivity of the Fuel Consumption to Driving Strategy by Micro Simulation

Global warming due to excessive emission greenhouse gases is a significant issue faced by humanity, and collectively, cars and trucks contribute about 20% to the entire global-warming gases. For a reason, recently, many attempts have been endured to reduce the emission and to increase fuel efficiency, including vehicle platooning, better driving strategy, and increasing engine efficiency. This study intends to provide a more detail assessment regarding the effects of the driving strategy to fuel consumption. For the purpose, the vehicle dynamics are quantified by employing the car-following model based on the optimal velocity model. The fuel consumption is estimated from the regression model of Ahn 18 . The result suggests that the braking distance strongly affects fuel consumption.

A road traffic engineering (RTE) is realistically required to reduce the road traffic congestion (RTC) degree. The congestion negatively affects not only to economy and physiology factors, but also for human environment and health. This paper methodologically represents the development of ecological decision support system based on the concept of fuzzy logic (Fuzzy ecoDSS) for RTE. Three types of core method operated here;fuzzy logic, water flow algorithm (WFA), and object oriented. The method fuzzy logic used to avoid the fuzziness in parameterizing and prioritize the parameters. The WFA approach functioned to replicate the flow of road traffic and optimize it thru RTE. Finally, the method object oriented benefited to analyze and design the constructed system. Thus, the simulation result exhibits the best decision alternative taken gives better air condition (more 200% than normal condition) and better road traffic velocity (more 2,200% than normal situation). © 2018 IEEE.

Cryptography is the science and art of maintaining the security of messages when messages are sent from one place to another. One of the ways securing the form of text message information is by the encryption process using the Vigenere Cipher algorithm and utilizing the One Time Pad (OTP) algorithm as a key generator, where the message will be random when it is opened. The message encryption process used the vigenere cipher algorithm while OTP is used to secure the key with the same formula. After this research has been done, an application was designed to secure text messages by converting the text message into a random message so that the message was unreadable due to a secret message that could not be known by others. The results achieved can secure an encrypted message that cannot be reopened and if those messages were reopened, they must be decrypted. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

As a company which relates its customer service, a software company (this case is PT Boon Software) is induced to give the good service to its customer. The existing information technology (IT) system service is made by patchwork. It brings some problems in service catalog, problem managment, change management, and service level agreement (SLA). The purpose of this research is to implement helpdesk system to software company with information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework as a standard reference to solve various problem related information technology service on a company. This research starts by investigation all stakeholders of the company with some questionnares. Implementation ITIL is strated by finding the gap between the current condition and the standard base line in ITIL. After implementation IT service using ITIL, the stakeholders are asked the same questionnares. Wireless technology gradual growth in the latest years has facilitated it to bridge its applications operated extensively in many types of industry. Wireless sensor network (WSN) technology brings several benefits over traditional wired technology by reason of the lower cost, immense flexibility escalation, and scalability which is able to be obtained from the old-style one. However, in its application WSN still experience some constraints on resource limitations in the form: processor, memory and energy, and any more challenges that related to availability, reliability and security. Based on its benefits, limitation, and challenges, and also three systematic stages, the review study was performed. The result of study was portrayed in this paper. It is regarding investigation result of hybrid cryptography (HC, as one of defense methods) realized for WSN to methodically increase the security level and decrease the resources usage. The result concluded that HC was proven in escalating the security defense level and downgrading the resources use on WSN compared to symmetric and asymmetric algorithms. © 2018 IEEE.

There are many business models for e-books, such as billing by time, billing by the hour, and database authorization. Copyright authorization and pricing methods are also different. How to assist the industry in formulating appropriate authorization and pricing mechanisms under different operating models is the key to the overall development of e-book services in the future. This research will be divided into two parts. The first one will start with the E-book authorization tracking mechanism. The purpose of this research is to solve the current problem of unauthorized and illegal distribution of e-books. The content consists of three parts. The first is privacy protection technology for legitimate users. Even sellers cannot obtain the personal information of legitimate users. The second part is the tracking mechanism for illegally authorized users. When the user performs illegal authorization, the e-book provider can use the tracking mechanism to find the illegal person. The third part is to build an e-book authorization management mechanism for different business models to achieve authorization tracking. The second topic will research the "e-book pricing tracking mechanism." The purpose is to design appropriate securities pricing mechanisms for different operating models. The project’s content is divided into three sub-topics: E-book pricing and tracking mechanism, E-book time-limited pricing management mechanism and building an E-book payment transaction server. The research will understand users’ browsing habits and compare them with industry interests. To develop a win-win pricing system, we will formulate an appropriate charging pricing system for different browsing methods and adopt the system according to the situation. © 2021

Improving the company's performance to compete globally, in rapid growth market economy condition, is practically required. One of the important things is right decision in issues of supplier selection. The improper supplier affects consequence negatively to the quality of company's business process. Thus, the right way to answer the issues is incredibly crucial to be proposed. This study aims to design an application to determine the sub-criteria weight with Fuzzy-AHP method, select the best supplier via Fuzzy-TOPSIS method, and calculate the allocation of quota to each supplier thru Fuzzy-MOLP method. The study was conducted on high class store by taking the object of material gymnastic product (spandex). Simulation confidently demonstrates that the Fuzzy-AHP approach is able to be operated to generate parameter Quality Product as the best sub-criteria (with value 0.221), the Fuzzy-TOPSIS technique can be used to ring out the supplier (where CV. Maju Jaya Abadi as the best supplier), and the method Fuzzy-MOLP is exploited to calculate the allocation of quota (where CV. Maju Jaya Abadi as a supplier with the highest percentage of 44.40%). © 2018 IEEE.

Adaptive e-learning system is widely used to customize the content of teaching materials to student learning styles. Background: We aimed to develop and validate multimodal models integrating computed tomography (CT) images, text and tabular clinical data to predict poor functional outcomes and in-hospital mortality in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). These models were designed to assist non-specialists in emergency settings with limited access to stroke specialists. Methods: A retrospective analysis of 527 patients with ICH admitted to a Japanese tertiary hospital between April 2019 and February 2022 was conducted. Deep learning techniques were used to extract features from three-dimensional CT images and unstructured data, which were then combined with tabular data to develop an L1-regularized logistic regression model to predict poor functional outcomes (modified Rankin scale score 3–6) and in-hospital mortality. The model's performance was evaluated by assessing discrimination metrics, calibration plots, and decision curve analysis (DCA) using temporal validation data. Results: The multimodal model utilizing both imaging and text data, such as medical interviews, exhibited the highest performance in predicting poor functional outcomes. In contrast, the model that combined imaging with tabular data, including physiological and laboratory results, demonstrated the best predictive performance for in-hospital mortality. These models exhibited high discriminative performance, with areas under the receiver operating curve (AUROCs) of 0.86 (95% CI: 0.79–0.92) and 0.91 (95% CI: 0.84–0.96) for poor functional outcomes and in-hospital mortality, respectively. Calibration was satisfactory for predicting poor functional outcomes, but requires refinement for mortality prediction. The models performed similar to or better than conventional risk scores, and DCA curves supported their clinical utility.
