In this work, a dynamic weighting-artificial neural network (DW-ANN) methodology is presented for quick and automated compact model (CM) generation. It takes advantage of both TCAD simulations for high accuracy and SPICE simulations for cost-effectiveness. This methodology is developed for gate-all-around (GAA) silicon (Si) nanosheet (NS) complementary field effect transistor (CFET), a potential candidate for future CMOS technology due to its innate properties. The critical process variation (PV) sources that severely degrade the CFET performance are estimated using DW-ANN. It reduces the computation cost and predicts the effects of PV sources with less than 1% error. Furthermore, a compact DW-ANN-based Verilog-A model has been developed that captures the dc as well as transient behavior accurately for circuit-level analysis. CFET-based circuits such as inverter, 6T-static random access memory (SRAM), and ring oscillator (RO) are characterized and implemented using DW-ANN-based CM. The overall average error of the model is reported as less than 2%. Therefore, the proposed device and circuit modeling approach provides a feasible solution for the rapid compact modeling of new emerging devices with good convergence and high accuracy. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Machine learning has been employed to automatically detect the defects on car engines in several studies. One of crucial challenges on applying machine learning is on the amount of defect data collected is often large with high dimensional data, making manual detection inefficient and inaccurate. The other problem is on the missing data as oftentimes the collected data are incomplete. In this paper, we employ machine learning frameworks for engine defect detection. It comprises the data pre-processing stage which includes imputing missing value data, then performing feature correlation using the Pearson method, and selecting the features to use. After that, the label encoder and standard scaler are carried out. The experimental process begins with creating a baseline, then continues with improving imbalance data using SMOTE, and feature reconstruction using variational autoencoder (VAE). Afterwards, for classification, we employ convolutional neural networks (CNN). The proposed method achieved precision 99.63%. We collect engine quality dataset of 224,239 data with 90 features from major automobile manufacturing in Indonesia. This showed that SMOTE and Variational Autoencoder dimensional reconstruction method can overcome defect predictions in car engine defect data with data imbalance conditions. This novel methodology distinguished our study from prior methods and shows considerable increases in precision and recall matrix. © 2024 IEEE.

In real-world image classification tasks, neural networks often encounter significant challenges due to unexpected or deceptive correlations and biases inherent in the dataset. These biases can emerge from disproportionate data distributions, causing models to generalize poorly to new, unseen data. Such data distribution issues are particularly problematic compared to more balanced datasets because they lead the model to rely on bias attributes rather than intrinsic attributes. Ideally, the model should classify based on intrinsic attributes, but due to the influence of bias attributes, frequent misclassification occurs. Such biases compromise the fairness and accuracy of the model, especially in critical scenarios such as medical diagnosis, autonomous driving, or criminal justice, where misclassification can have significant consequences. To address these challenges, we propose an innovative two-stage approach aimed at mitigating bias more effectively and efficiently. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper discusses comprehensively the advanced technologies used in the implementation of smart services, which are key elements of a smart city. Smart cities are becoming eco-friendly, livable, and sustainable to deliver essential services to their citizens by leveraging internet and communication technology advancements. Starting from a short literature review about smart cities and smart services, a recent trend in the technology used to implement smart services is collected. Smart service can be defined as a service conveyed using intelligent products that possess awareness and connectivity. All kinds of smart services can be connected in smart cities to offer citizens comprehensive solutions. Pre-emptive services, self-services, or highly interactive services, for example, have the potential to be implemented using current technology such as the internet of things, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, machine learning, machine-to-machine communications, and the digital twin. Therefore, there is scope for research and implementation of other technology for smart services in the future. © 2023 ACM.

Recent advances in multi-omics databases have enabled biomedical researchers to explore complex cancer systems across hierarchical biological levels. Although there are numerous multi-omics clustering methods, most of them directly integrate heterogeneous features of different omics which may include redundancy or noise and lead to poor clustering results. In this paper, we propose a novel multi-omics clustering method for cancer subtyping which extracts interpretable and discriminative features from different omics before data integration. The proposed method utilizes the clinical information of each omics to supervise the process of extracting interpretable and discriminative features based on SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanation) values. The shared nearest neighbor-based approach is then applied to calculate the similarity matrix of the extracted features. Finally, we integrate the similarity matrices of different omics and apply spectral clustering on the integrated similarity matrix to obtain the clustering result. Experimental results conducted on four different cancer datasets on three levels of omics demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed method in comparison to the existing multi-omics clustering methods. © 2023 IEEE.

Aim/Purpose This study investigated a model of mobile esports acceptance among urban citizens based on an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Background Currently, esports are increasingly popular and in demand by the public. Supported by the widespread development of mobile devices, it has become an interactive market trend to play games in a new model, mobile esports. Methodology This study collected data from 400 respondents and analyzed it using partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Contribution This study addresses two research gaps. The first gap is limited esports information systems studies, particularly in mobile esports acceptance studies. The second gap is limited exploration of external variables in online gaming acceptance studies. Thus, this study proposed a TAM extended model by integrating the TAM native variables with other external variables such as visual appeal, enjoyment, social interaction, and competition to explore mobile esports acceptance by urban citizens. Findings Nine hypotheses were accepted, and four were rejected. The visual appeal did not affect the acceptance. Meanwhile, social interaction and enjoyment significantly affected both perceived ease of use and usefulness. However, perceived ease of use surprisingly had an insignificant effect on attitude toward using mobile esports. Moreover, competition significantly affected the acceptance, particularly on perceived usefulness. Digital transformation is about transforming processes, business models, domains, and culture. Studies show that the failure rate of digital transformation is quite high up to 90%. Studies show that the transformational leadership model has a significant impact on digital transformation adoption. A title provides readers a succinct representation of the whole document and consequently helps them get the gist without going through the details. Although the research of title generation has been investigated for decades, it still leaves much space to improve due to its requirements of complex tasks such as language understanding and text synthesis. To perform unsupervised learning of titles, we employ a generative adversarial network (GAN) without paired training data. A sequence-to-sequence model with an auto-encoder architecture is adapted to model the generator. The readability gap between human-written and machine-generated text still needs to reduce. As n-gram model has been successfully used as a language model for solving the language tasks, we present n-gram discriminators in the GAN model to increase the readability of machine-generated titles. The proposed model is tested on the English Gigaword dataset and the experimental results demonstrate that our approach obtains encouraging results. © 2022 IEEE.

This study is dedicated to a critical investigation of the existing approaches toward a data visualization management platform based on Fast Health Interoperability Resources (FHIR). Despite the growing popularity of FHIR, the available evidence provides a compelling reason to believe that its use is still accompanied by a significant number of technical challenges. Therefore, the development of tools to ensure its convenient visualization remains a pressing need for a variety of stakeholders operating in the healthcare industry. Results of the systematic literature review that included 26 studies provide valuable information about the most popular instruments in this area, such as the OpenEHR CKM approach. The review offers a critical discussion of the most important advantages and disadvantages of different approaches. It provides valuable recommendations for further research as well as practical recommendations concerning the best ways to utilize data visualization platforms based on FHIR. It defines the tradeoff of functionality versus the ease of dissemination as one of the most important problems facing most platforms and suggests avenues for developing additional tooling support for visualizing FHIR. The results of the research could be useful both for scientists and practitioners. © 2022 IEEE.

Human-human interaction recognition is crucial in computer vision fields like surveillance,human-computer interaction,and social *** enhances systems’ability to interpret and respond to human behavior *** research focuses on recognizing human interaction behaviors using a static image,which is challenging due to the complexity of diverse *** overall purpose of this study is to develop a robust and accurate system for human interaction *** research presents a novel image-based human interaction recognition method using a Hidden Markov Model(HMM).The technique employs hue,saturation,and intensity(HSI)color transformation to enhance colors in video frames,making them more vibrant and visually appealing,especially in low-contrast or washed-out *** filters reduce noise and smooth imperfections followed by silhouette extraction using a statistical *** extraction uses the features from Accelerated Segment Test(FAST),Oriented FAST,and Rotated BRIEF(ORB)*** application of Quadratic Discriminant Analysis(QDA)for feature fusion and discrimination enables high-dimensional data to be effectively analyzed,thus further enhancing the classification *** ensures that the final features loaded into the HMM classifier accurately represent the relevant human *** impressive accuracy rates of 93%and 94.6%achieved in the BIT-Interaction and UT-Interaction datasets respectively,highlight the success and reliability of the proposed *** proposed approach addresses challenges in various domains by focusing on frame improvement,silhouette and feature extraction,feature fusion,and HMM *** enhances data quality,accuracy,adaptability,reliability,and reduction of errors.
