Lung tumor is a complex disease that occurs due to the abnormal growth of lung cells. This study scrutinizes the characteristics of activation energy on Darcy Forchheimer radiative flow of dusty Ellis trihybrid nanofluid over a Riga plate when dust and nanoparticles are present. The goal of the present work is to use the Hamilton-Crosser thermal conductivity model to scrutinize the heat transmission for the Darcy Forchheimer flow of dusty Ellis trihybrid nanofluid. The flow is impacted by heat source with the properties of Marangoni convection. The base fluid, propylene glycol (C3H8O2), is mixed with Ag, TiO2 and Al2O3 nanoparticles. The model is applicable to sophisticated heat transfer systems, including solar energy harvesting and electronic device cooling technologies. Additionally, it finds application in thermal management of industrial processes using nanofluids and aerospace engineering. Using the shooting technique, the numerical results of the governing equations are obtained (RKF-45th). The impacts on dimensionless physical quantities of interest of geometrical and physical properties relevant to this study are analysed using the required tables and figures. The results demonstrated that the Ellis fluid parameter raised the heat transmission, mass transmission rate, and velocity profiles. As the chemical reaction parameter upsurges, the concentration distributions decrease. © 2025 The Author(s)

This research developed an approach to integrate the complementary benefits of digitized assessments and peer learning. Its basic premise and associated hypotheses are that by using student assessments of correct and incorrect quiz answers using a fine-grained resolution to pair them into remediation peer-learning cohorts is an effective means of learning. Delivered and scored in a computer-based testing center, the assessment of digitized formative quizzes paired students whose scores indicated a different knowledge skill level so that by the end of the same week as the quiz, the paired students cooperatively took an in-class quiz during a remediation session to determine if there were any learning improvements. This research article discusses this research approach and presents the findings.

Fingertip interactive tracking registration method for AR assembly system

Aiming at the problems of single input mode and lack of naturalness in the assembly process of existing AR systems, a tracking registration method of mobile AR assembly system is proposed based on multi-quantity and multi-degree of freedom natural fingertip interaction. Firstly, the real-time and stable tracking of hand area in complex environment is realized based on the hand region tracking; secondly, the fingertip detection and recognition based on K-COS and parallel vector is used to improve the precision and stability of fingertip recognition; thirdly, the special movement track of fingertip is recognized based on improved DTW algorithm, which has strong compatibility and feature gradient transformation for complex fingertip trajectory recognition; finally, through the real-time transformation of projection relationship between fingertip and virtual object, the interaction between fingertip and virtual object is made more natural and realistic. The experimental results show that in the complex environment of background, illumination, scale and rotation, the precision of fingertip detection and recognition is about 93%, and the precision of fingertip motion template matching is about 91%. The translation error of the registration method based on visual feature recognition is reduced by about 100pix compared with fingertip tracking registration method, and the efficiency of mobile AR-guided assembly method is improved by about 24.77% compared with the traditional manual assisted assembly method. These data verifies the strong interaction and practicability of the fingertips based on the user's multi-quantity and multi-degree of freedom features in the process of mobile AR guided assembly.

Optimal resource allocation for flexible-grid entanglement distribution networks

We use a genetic algorithm (GA) as a design aid for determining the optimal provisioning of entangled photon spectrum in flex-grid quantum networks with arbitrary numbers of channels and users. After introducing a general model for entanglement distribution based on frequency-polarization hyperentangled biphotons, we derive upper bounds on fidelity and entangled bit rate for networks comprising one-to-one user connections. Simple conditions based on user detector quality and link efficiencies are found that determine whether entanglement is possible. We successfully apply a GA to find optimal resource allocations in four different representative network scenarios and validate features of our model experimentally in a quantum local area network in deployed fiber. Our results show promise for the rapid design of large-scale entanglement distribution networks. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Fast Quaternion Product Units for Learning Disentangled Representations in SO(3)

Real-world 3D structured data like point clouds and skeletons often can be represented as data in a 3D rotation group (denoted as SO(3)). However, most existing neural networks are tailored for the data in the Euclidean space, which makes the 3D rotation data not closed under their algebraic operations and leads to sub-optimal performance in 3D-related learning tasks. To resolve the issues caused by the above mismatching between data and model, we propose a novel non-real neuron model called quaternion product unit (QPU) to represent data on 3D rotation groups. The proposed QPU leverages quaternion algebra and the law of the 3D rotation group, representing 3D rotation data as quaternions and merging them via a weighted chain of Hamilton products. We demonstrate that the QPU mathematically maintains the SO(3) structure of the 3D rotation data during the inference process and disentangles the 3D representations into "rotation-invariant" features and "rotation-equivariant" features, respectively. Moreover, we design a fast QPU to accelerate the computation of QPU. The fast QPU applies a tree-structured data indexing process, and accordingly, leverages the power of parallel computing, which reduces the computational complexity of QPU in a single thread from O(N) to O(log N). Taking the fast QPU as a basic module, we develop a series of quaternion neural networks (QNNs), including quaternion multi-layer perceptron (QMLP), quaternion message passing (QMP), and so on. In addition, we make the QNNs compatible with conventional real-valued neural networks and applicable for both skeletons and point clouds. Experiments on synthetic and real-world 3D tasks show that the QNNs based on our fast QPUs are superior to state-of-the-art real-valued models, especially in the scenarios requiring the robustness to random rotations. © 2022, CC BY.

We consider a scalar parabolic equation in one spatial dimension. The equation is constituted by a convective term, a reaction term with one or two equilibria, and a positive diffusivity which can however vanish. We prove the existence and several properties of traveling-wave solutions to such an equation. In particular, we provide a sharp estimate for the minimal speed of the profiles and improve previous results about the regularity of wavefronts. Using fuzzy logic in multi-criteria problems allows real-world problems to be modeled with greater accuracy. In addition, it is possible to solve problems in which all data are incomplete. The difficulty may be the choice of an appropriate technique leading to a ranking calculation. methods fully integrated with fuzzy logic can be used. It is also possible to convert fuzzy data to crisp values and then apply traditional MCDA methods. In this paper, the performance of the TOPSIS method in a crisp and fuzzy environment was analyzed. The approaches of operating fully on uncertain data when calculating preference values were compared with converting data to crisp values using selected membership functions. The research has shown that significant differences and discrepancies in how the alternatives are classified are noticeable in the rankings.

The practical capabilities of decision support systems are beneficial in many complex problems. They aim to equip the decision-maker with knowledge about the preferred choices from the set under consideration. Often, there are minor differences between the alternatives analyzed, making it necessary to determine whether changes in the parameters characterizing them can influence their final position. For this purpose, a sensitivity analysis of the solutions can be used to examine the resistance of the results to changes. In this paper, we address the problem of performing the sensitivity analysis using MCDA methods. Most studies focus on testing the sensitivity of rankings of popular methods. However, their main disadvantage is their susceptibility to the phenomenon of ranking reversal. It may distort the results obtained in a sensitivity analysis. Therefore, it is worth using methods resistant to the ranking reversal phenomenon for this purpose. The SPOTIS and COMET methods were used in a theoretical multi-criteria problem, where the calculated results were then subjected to sensitivity analysis. The study showed that the SPOTIS method tends to be more robust to the computed results.

The micro RNA-messenger RNA dynamics is a topic of constant interest. In this paper we analyze the stability of equilibria of a mathematical model associated to this interaction. After proving the existence and uniqueness of an equilibrium point in the positive ortant, we provide numerically tractable conditions (by using Linear Matrix Inequalities techniques) to check the asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point.
