As the importance of sustainable practices in the automobile sector grows, it's critical to anticipate motorcycle prices and offerings. With so many variables to consider when buying a secondhand motorcycle-condition, mileage, brand reputation, model characteristics, etc.-accurate pricing prediction is essential for both customers looking for good values and sellers hoping to maximize profits. This study investigates the effectiveness of four machine learning techniques Decision Tree models, Support Vector Regression (SVR), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) Regressions-in predicting motorcycle prices using a dataset obtained from motorcycle merchants. It's noteworthy that these methods are used with a hybrid architecture to improve prediction accuracy. Different approaches are compared and contrasted to find the best fit for the given dataset, and the difficulties and roadblocks that come with them are also discussed. After extensive testing, the decision tree model's effectiveness is shown with an amazing 97% accuracy rate, providing accurate price estimates that are essential for encouraging sustainable habits in the ever-changing Internet of Things environment. With an impressive accuracy rate, this methodology provides precise pricing estimations, which are critical for supporting sustainable practices in the automotive industry. © 2024 IEEE.

DFU_XAI: A Deep Learning-Based Approach to Diabetic Foot Ulcer Detection Using Feature Explainability

Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a potentially fatal complication of diabetes. Traditional techniques of DFU analysis and therapy are more time-consuming and costly. Artificial intelligence (AI), particularly deep neural networks, has demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in medical applications. Despite this, the lack of explainability of deep learning models is currently viewed as a key hurdle to using these approaches in actual clinical settings. In this research, we present the DFU_XAI framework for assessing the interpretability of explainable-driven deep learning (DL) models. DFU_XAI evaluates five DL models (Xception, DenseNet121, ResNet50, InceptionV3, and MobileNetV2) to establish a transparent DL framework using three state-of-the-art explanation methods: Shapley additive explanation (SHAP), local interpretable model-agnostic explanations (LIME), and gradient-weighted class activation mapping (Grad-CAM). ResNet50 outperformed the other four models with remarkable results: 98.75% accuracy, 99.2% precision, 97.6% recall, 98.4% F1-score, and 98.5% AUC. For the most part, it can locate diabetic foot ulcers precisely on a diabetic foot and discriminate between diabetic foot ulcers and healthy feet in the DFU dataset. A heat map will indicate the precise location of the ulcer that needs care. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC 2024.

Graffiti detection is essential in historic building protection and urban neighborhood management. Graffiti detection has made significant progress in recent years based on the development of deep learning. However, small-scale graffiti, interference from the background, and the false detection of word parts in graffiti make it a challenging problem. This article proposes a Transformer-based high-precision graffiti detection method, namely DIG. Precisely, it consists of three modules: 1) Spatial query selection (SQS), scale-aware IoU loss (SIL);2) Denoising Task with binary contrastive denoising (BCDN);and 3) IoU-guided box denoising (IBD) modules. To detect small-scale graffiti, this paper proposes SIL to help the loss function to perceive small-scale graffiti and large-scale graffiti fairly. To reduce the false detection of word parts, this article presents the SQS module, which integrates spatial information into the query selection process of the Encoder to filter out falsely detected bounding boxes within the graffiti. To reduce the interference from the background, this article introduces a denoising task with BCDN and IBD modules, improving the model’s ability to distinguish graffiti from the background and accurately select appropriate bounding boxes. A large number of experimental results on the STORM dataset show that our method achieves state-of-the-art results with an AP50 of 87.9%. Moreover, DIG achieved competitive results on the FineFM dataset for mask detection. This indicates that DIG can also be conveniently transferred to detect other scenarios. © 2013 IEEE.

Integrating single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq) data and single-cell ATAC-seq (scATAC-seq) data provides a more comprehensive view of cellular heterogeneity. However, the high sparsity in scATAC-seq data presents significant challenges for cell type identification, while scRNA-seq offers richer gene expression information for more accurate annotation. We propose scEDI, a method that integrates scRNA-seq and scATAC- seq data using autoencoders and text convolutional networks. In scEDI, both data types are processed through an autoencoder to create a shared low-dimensional space, followed by a text convolutional network for label transfer. We evaluated scEDI against three state-of-the-art methods on datasets from the adult mouse cerebral cortex and human peripheral blood monocytes. Experimental results demonstrate that scEDI improves label transfer accuracy, particularly in small datasets. © 2024 IEEE.

Self-training with data augmentation emerges as an efficacious strategy for harnessing unlabeled data in the realm of semi-supervised medical image segmentation. Within the synthetic domain, existing models make a deliberate trade-off, sacrificing some of its absolute performance on labeled data to bolster its generalization capabilities on the predominantly abundant unlabeled data encompassed within the entire dataset. In this study, we find out the essence of employing data augmentation techniques to create a proxy data domain that serves as a bridge between labeled and unlabeled data. To this end, we optimize the aforementioned approach by incorporating the concept of curriculum learning, which encompasses two primary components: Dynamic Copy-Paste strategies and the Self-Iterative Segmentation Model. Concerning the former, the dynamic scaling of the copy-paste box guides the model in acquiring shared semantics, progressing from easier (labeled data) to more challenging (unlabeled data). In order to facilitate this incremental learning process, we have devised models that supports progressive iterative evolution throughout the training phase. Our approach has demonstrated remarkable efficacy through a comprehensive series of benchmarks, consistently outperforming existing methods and achieving state-of-the-art performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Cryptographic APIs provided by Ethereum are widely adopted in decentralized applications (DApps) for cryptographic operations. However, developers who lack expertise in cryptography frequently encounter difficulties when working with low-level cryptographic APIs, thereby producing insecure code. To address this issue, we introduce Cryptcoder, an automatic code generator designed to bridge the gap between low-level cryptographic APIs and high-level cryptographic tasks in Ethereum. The fundamental component of Cryptcoder is Cryptlang, a Solidity-compatible domain-specific language (DSL) designed for cryptographic tasks. Developers can utilize Cryptlang for the straightforward and secure implementation of cryptographic tasks, such as signatures and commitments, and employ Cryptcoder for the automatic conversion into Solidity code. The evaluation of Cryptcoder demonstrates both its functionality in generating Solidity code and an acceptable overhead, evidenced by a mere 4% average increase in gas costs compared to the reference code. With the rapid growth of video data, video summarization is a promising approach to shorten a lengthy video into a compact version. Although supervised summarization approaches have achieved state-of-the-art performance, they require frame-level annotated labels. Such an annotation process is time-consuming and tedious. In this article, we propose a novel deep summarization framework named Deep Semantic and Attentive Network for Video Summarization (DSAVS) that can select the most semantically representative summary by minimizing the distance between video representation and text representation without any frame-level labels. Another challenge associated with video summarization tasks mainly originates from the difficulty of considering temporal information over a long time. Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) performs well for temporal dependencies modeling but does not work well with long video clips. Therefore, we introduce a self-attention mechanism into our summarization framework to capture the long-range temporal dependencies among the frames. Extensive experiments on two popular benchmark datasets, i.e., SumMe and TVSum, show that our proposed framework outperforms other state-of-the-art unsupervised approaches and even most supervised methods. © 2022 Association for Computing Machinery.

The increasing complexity and memory demands of Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) for real-Time systems pose new significant challenges, one of which is the GPU memory capacity bottleneck, where the limited physical memory inside GPUs impedes the deployment of sophisticated DNN models. This paper presents, to the best of our knowledge, the first study of addressing the GPU memory bottleneck issues, while simultaneously ensuring the timely inference of multiple DNN tasks. We propose RT-Swap, a real-Time memory management framework, that enables transparent and efficient swap scheduling of memory objects, employing the relatively larger CPU memory to extend the available GPU memory capacity, without compromising timing guarantees. We have implemented RT-Swap on top of representative machine-learning frameworks, demonstrating its effectiveness in making significantly more DNN task sets schedulable at least 72% over existing approaches even when the task sets demand up to 96.2% more memory than the GPU's physical capacity. © 2024 IEEE.

With the development of IoT technology, a significant amount of time series data is continuously generated, and anomaly detection of this data is crucial. However, time series data in IoT is dynamic and heterogeneous, and most centralized learning also suffers from security and privacy issues. To address these issues, we propose a multi-task anomaly detection approach based on federated learning (MTAD-FL) to address these problems. First, we propose a distributed framework based on Multi-Task Federated Learning (MT-FL), which aims to solve multiple tasks simultaneously while exploiting similarities and differences between tasks;second, to identify complex anomaly patterns and features in the IoT environment, we construct a Squeeze Excitation (SE) based and External Attention (EA) based Enhance Dual Network (SE-EA-EDN) feature extractor to monitor real-time data features from IoT systems efficiently;finally, we design a Local-Global Feature-based Parallel Knowledge Transfer (LGF-PKT) to parallelize the updating of weights of local and global features. To validate the effectiveness of our approach, we conducted comparative experiments on three publicly available datasets, SMD, SWaT, and SKAB, and MTAD-FL improved F1 by 11%, 67.8%, and 27.5%, respectively, over the other methods. © ICST Institute for computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering 2024.
