In data communications, data retransmission mechanisms are essential to ensure reliable data transmission. In this paper, we analyze various data retransmission algorithms and recent research trends. Traditional algorithms such as ACK and timeout-based retransmission, NACK-based retransmission, and selective repetition are reviewed, and modern retransmission techniques utilizing machine learning and network coding are discussed. These techniques contribute to increasing adaptability to the network environment and maximizing the efficiency of data transmission. This work highlights the importance of retransmission mechanisms in ensuring the reliability of data communication and provides directions for future research. © 2024 IEEE.

Logistic regression is a widely used and efficient machine learning algorithm for data analysis. However, data is often distributed among different participants, and building high-quality models often involves data interaction, which might easily lead to sensitive information leakage. While some schemes have been proposed to address the data security issue through privacy-preserving technologies such as multi-party computation, homomorphic encryption, and trusted execution environment (TEE), they still suffer from some limitations in terms of security, efficiency, and model integrity and are not suitable for the secure outsourcing training. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an efficient and lossless integrity-preserving training for high-dimensional logistic regression over vertically partitioned data. First, we utilize a block strategy to encrypt the data in batches and outsource them to a cloud with TEE to achieve the non-interactive training. Considering TEE's limited memory, we employ random sampling technology to achieve mini-batch training within TEE, which ensures the data security. We find that the cloud might launch the active attacks to drop the model accuracy, such as lazy attack and replacement attack. To prevent the attacks, we introduce an integrity protection mechanism to verify data integrity and reduce verification frequency using a mixed-probability checking method, including fixed and random probability checking. Detailed analysis has confirmed that our scheme is secure and integrity-preserving. Extensive experiments have demonstrated that our scheme can achieve lossless, non-interactive, and efficient model training. © 2024 IEEE.

Nowadays, more and more traffic with different service requirements is transmitted simultaneously in the network, resulting in network congestion. In order to improve network Quality of Service (QoS), traffic will be classified and processed according to its requirements. The switch uses fair queuing and its extension schemes to schedule it to reduce the packet loss rate. However, statistical data such as packet arrival rate cannot be accurately obtained in the switches, and discrete reinforcement learning cannot model dynamically changing traffic, making existing dynamic bandwidth allocation solutions challenging to implement. Meanwhile, the same weight configuration will obviously cause the packet loss rate to fluctuate, so it is challenging to design an effective reward function. This paper proposes a dynamic scheduling optimization mechanism based on Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (DDPG), called DDSO, in an actual switch to schedule flows with different service requirements. Firstly, the flow scheduling problem is modeled as a Markov Decision Process (MDP), and DDPG is used to find the optimal queue weight configuration. Queue weight adjustment is a continuous control problem, and DDPG can solve this problem very well. Secondly, we introduce two one-dimensional arrays to design a new reward function, to reduce the influence of packet loss rate fluctuation on reward determination. At last, this mechanism is evaluated through a hardware testbed in two scenarios. The results show that DDSO can effectively schedule the flows with different service requirements and alleviate network congestion. © 2023 IEEE.

The automotive industry has always been seeking innovative solutions to improve car performance, safety, and cost savings. Lightweight design technology has become one of the solutions. This article summarizes the modeling and optimization methods of automotive lightweight design, as well as key technologies based on intelligent optimization learning. First, this article outlines the basic concepts of automotive lightweight design, as well as the needs and challenges of the industry for lightweight design. Then, the modeling methods of lightweight design are introduced in detail, including geometric modeling, topology optimization, structural optimization, and multidisciplinary optimization. At the same time, commonly used materials, manufacturing processes, and testing methods in lightweight design are introduced, as well as relevant design guidelines and standards. This article also introduces some algorithms and their applicable scenarios. Additionally, this article summarizes the application prospects and future development directions of key technologies for automotive lightweight design modeling and intelligent optimization learning. We emphasize the opportunities and challenges in this field and propose how to continue promoting the development of lightweight design technology and responding to increasingly complex market demands. This article provides a systematic review of key technologies for automotive lightweight design modeling and intelligent optimization learning, which helps researchers and practitioners to deepen their understanding of the technical development and application trends in this field. © 2023 IEEE.

Course recommendations in universities select the most suitable courses for students according to their interests and academic requirements. However, existing works often focus on modeling course selection history, without paying sufficient attention to rich features contained in students’ personal information and courses’ teaching attributes, and various relationships between them. In order to realize the personalization and dynamics of course recommendation, we consider students and courses as two types of nodes to construct a heterogeneous information network (HIN), and propose a factor Memory network and Graph neural network based personalized Course Recommendation (MG-CR) on top of HIN. MG-CR captures multiple features of students and courses simultaneously in the input module, thereby maximizing the retention of personalized information. The feature transfer module optimizes course features by considering various types of relationships between courses in the HIN, and together with the input module, it ensures high recommendation accuracy in the cold-start scenario. The updating module explicitly stores the student’s interest level for each factor in the state matrix, which is then used to dynamically recommend courses for students in the predicting module. Experimental results show that MG-CR provides accurate, dynamic and personalized recommendations, and has superior performance in the cold-start scenario. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Insertion is one of the basic operations in DNA computing. Based on this basic operation, an evolutionary computation model, the insertion system, was defined. For the evolutionary computation model defined above, varying levels of ambiguity and basic descriptional complexity measures have been defined. In this paper, we define twelve new (descriptional) complexity measures based on the integral parts of the derivation, such as axioms, strings to be inserted, and contexts used in the insertion rules. Later, we analyze the trade-off among the complexity measures and the existing ambiguity levels. Finally, we examine the application of the analyzed trade-off in natural languages. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

A novel semantics for MARL called neural concurrent game structure (NCGS) is introduced, which extends CGS with neural network and roles where the agents are implemented via feed-forward ReLU neural networks. To formally verify concrete NCGS systems and reduce the complexity, multi-role strategy logic(mrSL) was put forward. mrSL is suitable for the properties of the NCGS, regardless of which agent is responsible for the specific task. Parameterized model checking(PMC) is used to solve the NCGS verification problem against mrSL. Finally an algorithm for MILP-based verification process is introduced, and report the experimental results. © 2023 IEEE.

Cloud computing is now changing the IT landscape and playing a significant economic role for companies that develop software. Users of educational resources now have more flexibility and access because of cloud computing. Students, faculty members, and support staff all use cloud computing in academic institutions. Internet-based computing, known as "Cloud Computing,"allows users to share IT resources securely and efficiently. The use of cloud computing in universities has many benefits, such as access to files, e-mail, databases, educational resources, and search applications as requested by faculty, administrators, staff, and students at a university alike. Moreover, cloud computing significantly reduces the complexity and cost of IT in universities. This paper discusses cloud computing, its structures, types, and services it provides, and then examines the possibility of implementing cloud services in universities and discovers the various opportunities and benefits of cloud services. The paper presents a proposed model for cloud computing for Libyan universities, which was applied to the University of Benghazi and produced satisfactory results and facilitated a lot of university work. Through the application of the proposed model, effective management of the technological needs of the Libyan university has been achieved, such as connecting programs and providing a platform for development, data storage and computing. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, with the wide application of CNN in the field of deep learning, the related model of CNN, the Deep Pyramid Convolutional Neural Networks for Text Categorization (DPCNN) model, has emerged, and by the idea of deepening the depth of the network to obtain the best accuracy, DPCNN has made breakthroughs in related fields, especially in the field of text categorization, and its concrete applications in solving practical problems have achieved good results. This paper first introduces the text classification system, then introduces the mainstream model CNN for text classification, after that this paper focuses on the analysis of the DPCNN model, introduces its background and its principle analysis, and introduces the application of DPCNN in specific examples, and finally summarizes and outlooks on DPCNN, emphasizes its application advantages and builds suitable application scenarios. © 2023 IEEE.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of interconnected objects, which congregate and exchange gigantic amounts of data. Usually, predeployed embedded sensors sense this massive data. Soon, several applications of IoT are anticipated to exploit emerging 6G technology. Healthcare is one of them, where the 6G-inspired paradigm may facilitate the users to exchange information through hundreds of sensors under the assumption of Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). Integration of medical sensors with AIoT is known as Artificial Intelligence of Medical Things (AIoMT). The secure and seamless interactions among 6G-enabled AIoMT users should be the primary challenge. Furthermore, resource-constrained wearable sensing devices, with their inability to execute complex security solutions, provide an ideal attraction for malicious entities to launch diverse attacks. These challenges have motivated us to design a cost-effective authenticated solution (CAS) for 6G-enabled AIoMT healthcare applications. Our CAS protocol not only prevents cyber threats like impersonation session key secrecy but it can also prevent physical threats like hardware tampering. We observe formal and informal security validations to endorse its robustness and effectiveness. Performance comparison reveals that the CAS protocol offers maximum security enrichment. Moreover, CAS is cost-effective as it has achieved 33% and 60% reduction in computation and communication overheads, respectively, compared to contemporary competing related protocols. © 2014 IEEE.
