In line with the human capacity to perceive the world by simultaneously processing and integrating high-dimensional inputs from multiple modalities like vision and audio, we propose a novel model, MAiVAR-T (Multimodal Audio-Image to Video Action Recognition Transformer). This model employs an intuitive approach for the combination of audio-image and video modalities, with a primary aim to escalate the effectiveness of multimodal human action recognition (MHAR). At the core of MAiVAR-T lies the significance of distilling substantial representations from the audio modality and transmuting these into the image domain. Subsequently, this audio-image depiction is fused with the video modality to formulate a unified representation. This concerted approach strives to exploit the contextual richness inherent in both audio and video modalities, thereby promoting action recognition. In contrast to existing state-of-the-art strategies that focus solely on audio or video modalities, MAiVAR-T demonstrates superior performance. Our extensive empirical evaluations conducted on a benchmark action recognition dataset corroborate the model's remarkable performance. This underscores the potential enhancements derived from integrating audio and video modalities for action recognition purposes. Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) is one of the promising technology for the next-generation wireless networks. The RIS reflects the received signal with phase shift introduced by reflecting elements without analog to digital conversion. In relay transmission scenario, RIS could be exploited to enhance the network coverage and improve transmission performance. In this paper, we consider RIS-assisted full-duplex (FD) relay transmission scenario. In the considered scenario, RIS and FD relay node performs relay transmission. Although the beamformed signal could be generated by phase shift of RIS, the interference from RIS to FD relay node may degrade the throughput performance. The proposed method cancels both of interference from RIS and self-interference at the FD relay node by estimating interference channels in the preparation phase before data transmission. © 2023 IEEE.

Zero-knowledge proof systems are becoming increasingly prevalent and being widely used to secure decentralized financial systems and protect the privacy of users. Given the sensitivity of these applications, zero-knowledge proof systems are a natural target for formal verification methods. We describe methods for checking one such proof system: Halo2. We use abstract interpretation and an SMT solver to check various properties of Halo2 circuits. Using abstract interpretation, we can detect unused gates, unconstrained cells, and unused columns. Using an SMT solver, we can detect under-constrained circuits (in the sense that for the same public input they have two efficiently computable satisfying assignments). This is the first work we are aware of that applies lightweight formal methods to PLONKish arithmetization and Halo2 circuits. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors. Metamorphic testing (MT) is an effective software quality assurance method;it uses metamorphic relations (MRs) to examine the inputs and outputs of multiple test cases. Metamorphic exploration (ME) and metamorphic robustness testing (MRT) are advanced additions to the MT literature: ME can enable better understanding, and thus testing, of systems;MRT can test software robustness without an oracle. Metamorphic relation patterns (MRPs) are abstractions or templates for multiple concrete MRs. The performance of MT/ME/MRT relies on the quality of MRs, but the identification of MRs is often a manual task requiring some knowledge of MRPs, creative thinking and a good understanding of the system. In other words, the effective identification of MRs remains a challenge and requires further study. In this paper, we propose formal definitions to describe the relationship between multiple MRPs in order to classify them. We also identify a series of new MRPs and propose a new MT framework that can guide the identification and application of MRPs. Based on our definitions, we present the notion of MRP family trees and further propose two trees by classifying previously published MRPs and our proposed MRPs, in order to make it easier for users to find their target MRPs for reuse, reference or inference. Finally, we report on case studies using the MRPs and our framework to guide the identification of MRs for MT/ME/MRT and successfully detect multiple violations. © 2025 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

In this paper, an adaptive controller design method is proposed for chaotic systems with unknown actuator dead-zone. First, the terminal sliding mode (TSM) manifold is proposed to ensure exponential stability as well as faster finite-time stability. In addition, a neural network (NN) is introduced to estimate the partially unknown nonlinear dynamic behavior of the object, and according to the implicit function theorem, the unknown asymmetric dead zone of the actuator is overcome by another static neural network. Furthermore, a robust terminology updated online deals with refactoring errors and external interferences of neural networks. Finally, the system can stably track any smooth target trajectory online is rigidly proved via Lyapunov analysis, and numerical simulation shows its effectiveness and feasibility. © 2022 IEEE.

The ability to continuously follow a target person in a dynamically changing environment remains a major challenge that indoor companion robots confront. Ongoing human following is complicated by close similarity matching and target occlusions. Person Re-Identification (re-ID) is a computer vision task that can help with the problem of intentional or unintentional occlusion of the subject or person of interest. Numerous research has been conducted on re-ID where the basic assumption is that the gallery set will only have non-occluded person images. This paper examines the problem from a human detection perspective and surveys the state-of-the-art of person re-ID, their achievement and shortcomings. A region-based convolutional neural network (R-CNN) Re-ID is proposed in this research. The findings from the prototyping and evaluation demonstrate that the proposed person Re-ID model is reliable for indoor re-ID situations. Thus, future works in this direction include investigating other factors, such as the number of persons in a scene and varying viewing angles of the probed target person, which can impact the performance of the proposed re-ID model. © 2023 ACM.

This paper introduces a new one-dimensional chaotic system and a new image encryption algorithm. Firstly, the new chaotic system is analyzed. The bifurcation diagram and Lyapunov exponent show that the system has strong chaotic characteristics and is suitable for the field of image encryption. The chaotic sequence generated by the system is used in image encryption, scrambled according to its sequence value, and several sequences required for DNA coding operation are generated. The encrypted image is obtained by encoding, decoding, and diffusion operation according to the sequence. The initial values and parameters of system are generated by Hash algorithm based on plain image, so it has strong sensitivity and can effectively resist attacks such as selective plaintext attack. Experimental results show that the algorithm has high security and robustness, and can resist common attacks. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Assessing data quality through Functional Depen-dencies (FDs) is a crucial aspect of data governance. However, with the diverse range of data sources and the exponential growth in data volume, exact FDs can sometimes be impractical for real-world applications. In contrast, relaxed functional dependencies (RFDs), which allows for some flexibility in attribute value comparisons, demonstrates greater adaptability and flexibility for big data scenarios. To address the efficient discovery of RFDs, this paper proposes a novel mining method to supplement the current research gaps. By establishing a difference table for tuples, we transform the problem into a specialized minimal set covering problem. Additionally, we introduce two optimization strategies: reducing the time complexity of enumerating the left-hand side of the base RFDs to 0 (1) and decreasing the search complexity for feasible LHS attributes and threshold candidates from O(2m-l) to O(1.5m-1). We rigorously proof that our mining approach guarantees the identification of validity and minimal RFDs. Experiments on nine real-world datasets reveal that our method significantly improves efficiency compared to existing techniques. Furthermore, it uncovers more concise and higher-quality RFDs. Importantly, the RFDs extracted through our methodology exhibit better performance in downstream cleaning tasks. © 2024 IEEE.

Agriculture, energy, mining, healthcare, and transportation are a few of the top industries transformed by the industrial internet of things (IIoT). Industry 4.0 mainly relies on machine learning (ML) to use the vast interconnectedness and large amounts of IIoT data that IIoT primarily drives. ML approaches are trained on confidential data generated by the IIoT environment often exposes privacy to adversarial assaults. Blockchain-based ML is established in the proposed secured IIoT research work to safeguard and enhance privacy. This research proposes a Gaussian differential privacy-integrated machine learning model (GDPIMLM), created for a scalable and controlled IIoT system, fully connected (FC) layer, implemented blockchain benefits to create a privacy-preserving mechanism while considering other limitations and reasonable time. A probability test using two altered Gaussian distributions (GD) forms the basis for defining Gaussian differential privacy (GDP). Due to a central restriction theorem for differential privacy, GDP is the primary privacy term within the family of Federal differential privacy (f-DP) policies. Ethereum is used to implement experimental evaluations. Data collections show that the recommended method enhances digital data privacy with industry-leading security without reducing performance. The performance analysis of the proposed model of secured industrial internet of things (IIoT) is studied using the accuracy of comparison with existing methods and for diverse distributed entities (DE). The proposed secured IIoT attains a minimal time consumption (TC) of 790 Sec—the highest accuracy of 92%, outperforming the existing method. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Surveillance videos play a crucial role in providing evidences. However, the deletion of even a few frames can significantly impact the interpretation of events, while the deletion can be performed easily using video editing softwares without leaving visual traces. This paper introduces a novel method to detect video frame deletion based on velocity field characteristics. The main idea is to convert long videos into a feature sequence, which appears as a sequence containing outlier values for videos with frame deletions, and as a sequence without outlier values for original videos. The proposed approach employs a siamese network to distinguish frame deletions between adjacent frames. A video can be transformed into a feature sequence through the siamese network, and the resulting sequence is fed into a binary classifier for final classification. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed approach, even for longer videos (e.g., 2000 frames) with minimal frame deletions (e.g., 1 frame). © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.
