In industrial contexts, managing time and resources typically involves complex systems with various operational components. This paper introduces a state machine model, optimized for simulating multi-component collaborative processes in industry, which is based on the State Chart XML (SCXML) standard and referred to as SCXML automata. The execution of these automata is treated as Markov decision processes, providing a framework for optimization. The primary goal is to develop strategies ensuring safe operation of such automata while adhering to time and cost constraints. A detailed representation of these automata is presented, including grammar, semantics, and strategies, and methods for strategy generation are adapted from single to multi-component systems. The approach involves the analysis of simulation data from such automata using adaptive reinforcement learning techniques, leading to the generation of strategies that approach optimality. Results demonstrate the capability of this approach in finding near-optimal strategies within a specified number of iterations. This method holds significant research value in the field of industrial flexible production lines, offering a means to generate strategies for multi-layered automata, thereby enhancing process efficiency. © 2024 ACM.

Vehicle platooning has attracted growing attention for its potential to enhance traffic capacity and road safety. This paper proposes an innovative distributed Stochastic Model Predictive Control (SMPC) for a vehicle platoon system to enhance the robustness and safety of the vehicles in uncertain traffic environments. In particular, considering the similarity between the acceleration or deceleration behaviour of neighbouring vehicles and the spring-scale properties, we use a two-mass spring system for the first time to construct an uncertain dynamic model of a formation system. In the presence of uncertain perturbations with known distributional attributes (expectation, variance), we propose an objective function in the form of expectation along with probabilistic chance constraints. Subsequently, a state feedback control mechanism is devised accordingly. Under the cumulative probability distribution function of stochastic perturbations, we theoretically derive a computationally tractable equivalent of the SMPC model. Finally, simulation experiments are designed to validate the control performance of the SMPC platoon controllers, along with an analysis of the stability performance under varying probabilities. The experimental findings demonstrate that the model can be efficiently solved in real-time with appropriately chosen prediction horizon lengths, ensuring robust and safe longitudinal vehicle formation control. As the boom of mobile devices,Android mobile apps play an irreplaceable roles in people’s daily life,which have the characteristics of frequent updates involving in many code commits to meet new ***-in-Time(JIT)defect prediction aims to identify whether the commit instances will bring defects into the new release of apps and provides immediate feedback to developers,which is more suitable to mobile *** the within-app defect prediction needs sufficient historical data to label the commit instances,which is inadequate in practice,one alternative method is to use the cross-project *** this work,we propose a novel method,called KAL,for cross-project JIT defect prediction task in the context of Android mobile *** specifically,KAL first transforms the commit instances into a high-dimensional feature space using kernel-based principal component analysis technique to obtain the representative ***,the adversarial learning technique is used to extract the common feature embedding for the model *** conduct experiments on 14 Android mobile apps and employ four effort-aware indicators for performance *** results on 182 cross-project pairs demonstrate that our proposed KAL method obtains better performance than 20 comparative methods.

Text classification is a fundamental task in web content mining. Although the existing supervised contrastive learning (SCL) approach combined with pre-trained language models (PLMs) has achieved leading performance in text classification, it lacks fundamental principles. Theoretically motivated by a derived lower bound of mutual information maximization, we propose a dual contrastive learning framework DualCL that satisfies three properties, i.e., parameter-free, augmentation-easy and label-aware. DualCL generates classifier parameters from the PLM and simultaneously uses them for classification and as augmented views of the input text for supervised contrastive learning. Extensive experiments conclusively demonstrate that DualCL excels in learning superior text representations and consistently outperforms baseline models. © 2024 ACM.

In recent years, the rapid development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has attracted significant interest in smart healthcare. However, such collaborative IoT applications still face three major challenges: multi-task data heterogeneity, high communication cost, decentralized computation and privacy preservation. As a result, efficiently integrating and processing such complex data has become a crucial problem to solve. In this paper, we propose COFFE, a collaborative federated learning framework that allows edge devices to participate in the model training. Our framework leverages the local computing power of edge devices and utilizes the communication resources of the IoT network to enable distributed learning. We apply a compression algorithm which optimizes the communication cost by minimizing the amount of exchanged data between the edge devices and the cloud server. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach through a set of experiments on a simulated IoT network. Our results show that our proposed COFFE approach achieves significant performance gains compared to traditional centralized learning approaches. Overall, our work provides a promising direction in smart healthcare for applying federated learning to IoT setting and enabling edge device collaboration. © 2023 IEEE.

Evaluation of Electronic Medical Certification (EMC) is integral to today's healthcare systems since they are a consolidated database of individual patients' medical histories. Security measures and privacy issues are standard in electronic medical certification. Incompatible systems make sharing data across healthcare providers difficult, which may lead to data breaches and a lack of patient authority over their medical data. Blockchain has become essential for real-world corporate applications where confidentiality of information is paramount. The handling of security in medical records through a decentralized peer-to-peer network might be revolutionized by blockchain technology and improving the protection of the interchange of healthcare records. This study proposes a lightweight flask framework-based blockchain strategy to store and display patient status and transaction log information about their disease diagnosis. In a potential Blockchain system, the diseased patients act as assets, and their records contain any prior illnesses as blocks. The report analyzes a lot of national and international EHR standards. It identifies which of these interoperability needs to be addressed, discusses the interoperability challenges in but also outlines the standards. Current blockchain-based EHR frameworks. Without the suggested has the requirement for centralized systems. By using this framework, the healthcare industry can be provided safer ways to while also providing the exchange of health information. It offers features of immutability, security, and user control over stored records. Evolutionary reinforcement learning algorithms (ERLs), which combine evolutionary algorithms (EAs) with reinforcement learning (RL), have demonstrated significant success in enhancing RL performance. However, most ERLs rely heavily on Gaussian mutation operators to generate new individuals. When the standard deviation is too large or small, this approach will result in the production of poor or highly similar offspring. Such outcomes can be detrimental to the learning process of the RL agent, as too many poor or similar experiences are generated by these individuals. In order to alleviate these issues, this paper proposes an Adaptive Evolutionary Reinforcement Learning (AERL) method that adaptively adjusts both the standard deviation and the evaluation process. By tracking the performance of new individuals, AERL maintains the mutation strength within a suitable range without the need for additional gradient computations. Moreover, the proposed AERL approach early terminates unnecessary evaluations and discards experiences arising from poor individuals, thereby resulting in enhanced learning efficiency. Empirical assessments conducted on a variety of continuous control problems demonstrate the effectiveness of the AERL method. © 2024 International Foundation for Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems.
