Diabetes is a leading cause of death. People with type 1 diabetes (T1D) can face a number of consequences from their illness. Hyperglycemia is a symptom of T1D disease. Hyperglycemia can be symptoms that can be used for predicting diabetes in patients using the machine learning approach (MLA). Learning algorithms play a role in disease detection and prediction of decision-making. The leading cause of diabetes is really a high blood sugar level or a lack of insulin. As a consequence, it is critical to develop a reliable method to predict diabetes. Once it becomes a serious health concern, it will damage different organs such as the lungs, brain, nerves, blood vessels and heart as a result. Several approaches for detecting diabetes have been used in recent decades. Early diabetic diagnosis is currently very important to help the patients’ health, and this can be done by utilizing a variety of procedures. Tenfold cross-validation technique was used to train dataset for classification. In this paper, authors use different classifications of algorithms such as random forest, decision tree, logistic regression and multilayer perceptron for finding T1D patients. Tracking the flow of external inputs in a program with taint-analysis techniques can help developers better identify potential security vulnerabilities in the software. However, directly using the static taint analysis provided by Clang Static Analyzer is inefficient for large-scale software due to the huge but redundant ExplodedGraph generated. Therefore, we propose an efficient Whole-Program Critical Paths Search (CAPS) framework. It first performs a set of optimizations to reduce the ExplodedGraph of each function. Then, it constructs a global exploded graph by inserting call edges among the reduced ExplodedGraphs for each function within the Neo4j graph database. Finally, it proposes loop removal and graph segmentation to optimize the search process for critical paths on the global exploded graph. Our experiments on 3 large-scale software show that CAPS can significantly improve the efficiency of critical path search for large-scale software. © 2023 Knowledge Systems Institute Graduate School. There have been many different forms of evolution-ary algorithms (EAs) designed by humans over the past 50 years, with many variants optimized for specific classes of problems. As computational resources grow, the automated design of EAs has become an increasingly viable method for improving performance. However, many components of EAs have been treated as largely immutable, for both human and automated designers, dramatically constraining design space. In particular, the evolutionary cycle (the repeating pattern of reproduction and survival) has little or no differences between most popular forms of EA. In a previous paper, we proposed a technique for automatically designing evolutionary cycles using directed graphs, greatly increasing the explorable design space. In this paper, we showcase an improved representation and evolutionary process, provide preliminary experiments demonstrating that EAs produced by this process can outperform those with a traditional cycle, and explore the phenotype landscape to show that the new space explored by our technique may contain better EAs than traditional cycles allow. © 2023 IEEE.

Down Syndrome (DS) is a genetic disorder causing intellectual disability and developmental delays. Despite instances of discrimination, several individuals with DS have achieved success through proper education and community support. This research addresses the challenges faced by children with DS in terms of motor skill development, cognitive impairments, and speech difficulties with the use of Deep Learning Technologies such as LSTM, CNN machine learning models. To bridge the educational gap and improve speech intelligibility, this study focuses on oral motor exercises that enhance articulation skills. Cognitive development in individuals with DS is also a concern, prompting the proposal of a self-learning system to foster cognitive growth. Fine motor skills improvement is explored through yoga exercises, and interventions like interactive technologies are considered to enhance learning experiences. This paper discusses the development of a user-friendly mobile application for early intervention in DS, integrating interactive activities using advanced technologies and a parent therapy dashboard. The system's potential for improving developmental skills and future expansion is emphasized. © 2023 IEEE.

In modern air traffic management, generating synthetic flight trajectories has emerged as a promising solution for addressing data scarcity, protecting sensitive information, and supporting large-scale analyses. In this paper, we propose a novel method for trajectory synthesis by adapting the Time-Based Vector Quantized Variational Autoencoder (TimeVQVAE). Our approach leverages time-frequency domain processing, vector quantization, and transformer-based priors to capture both global and local dynamics in flight data. By discretizing the latent space and integrating transformer priors, the model learns long-range spatiotemporal dependencies and preserves coherence across entire flight paths. We evaluate the adapted TimeVQVAE using an extensive suite of quality, statistical, and distributional metrics, as well as a flyability assessment conducted in an open-source air traffic simulator. Results indicate that TimeVQVAE outperforms a temporal convolutional VAE baseline, generating synthetic trajectories that mirror real flight data in terms of spatial accuracy, temporal consistency, and statistical properties. Furthermore, the simulator-based assessment shows that most generated trajectories maintain operational feasibility, although occasional outliers underscore the potential need for additional domain-specific constraints. Overall, our findings underscore the importance of multi-scale representation learning for capturing complex flight behaviors and demonstrate the promise of TimeVQVAE in producing representative synthetic trajectories for downstream tasks such as model training, airspace design, and air traffic forecasting. © 2025 IEEE.

Recent studies have achieved remarkable results for action recognition with human skeletal data by utilizing graph convolutional models. Traditional approaches typically aggregate local spatio-temporal information bottom-up to form a single spatio-temporal global understanding. However, this method may fail to achieve multi-location perception for fine-grained action capture and may struggle to model subactions due to their varying durations. To solve these challenges, we design a Distributed Spatio-temporal Perception (DSP) module that innovatively treats each joint as an independent perception unit, performing joint-wise distributed multi-location perception in both spatial and temporal dimensions. In addition, we introduce an Anchor Pose-driven Subaction Encoding (APSE) module, which enhances informative clues for subaction reasoning through identifying the correlations between anchor pose and subactions formed by integrating distributed spatio-temporal perception features. Based on the above work, we propose a Joint-wise Distributed Perception Graph Convolutional Network (JDP-GCN). The experiments on three widely used datasets: NTU RGB+D 60, NTU RGB+D 120, and NW-UCLA, demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance. © 2025 IEEE.

To address the issue of challenging detection tasks for tiny and medium-sized objects because of backdrop confusion and inadequate feature representation of steel surface flaws, this paper proposes an efficient feature-enhanced, feature-fused SAM-YOLO detector based on the YOLOv8 model. It adds a new feature fusion module MSFF based on the original YOLOv8 model and replaces the bottleneck module in the C2f module with a feature enhancement module SACM. These two modules improve the enhancement and detection of defect edge features, local area sensing, and the network capability of multi-scale feature fusion, and the effect of SAM-YOLO is verified through several experiments on the NEU-DET steel surface defect dataset. The mAP50 of SAM-YOLO reaches 77.9%. mAP50:95 reaches 49.1%, exceeding the original YOLOv8 baseline model by 6.9% and surpassing several other benchmark models. To confirm the legitimacy of each SAM-YOLO model module, ablation tests were conducted on the model in the interim. © 2024 IEEE.

One of the several malignancies that can afflict humans and spread the fastest is skin cancer. The most and most serious kind of skin cancer, melanoma typically starts out on the skin's surface before spreading deeper into the skin layers. But melanoma patients have a 96% survival rate with straightforward and affordable treatments if they are discovered at an early stage. Expert dermatologists, equipment, and biopsies are employed in the traditional technique of melanoma diagnosis. Deep learning has shown to offer cutting edge solutions for skin cancer identification at an early stage with high accuracy, helping dermatologists prevent the costly diagnosis and assisting patients. Hybrid Xception-XGBoost classifier tuned by HBA is developed in this paper for effective skin cancer prediction. Raw skin image is given as an input for the proposed method. Dingo Optimized Texture based Histogram Equalization strategy is employed to enhance the raw input image. Then pre-processed image is split into different regions using U-net based segmentation approach. This segmented image is then given as an input for the Hybrid Xception-XGBoost approach which was tuned by Honey Badger Optimization for final prediction of skin cancer. In this classifier, the fully connected layers of Xception network is replayed with XGBoost classifier. HBA is utilized to choose best tunable variables of XGBoost. The evaluation outcomes show that the proposed approach achieves 98% accuracy, 97% precision and 113 s of training time. The height of Infiltration line of tailings dam is a very important parameter for the safety of tailings reservoir. Infiltration line is the intersection line between the free water surface and the cross section of the dam body, that the free water surface is formed by the infiltration of water from the earth dam to the downstream. When the buried depth of the pressure sensors at each monitoring point could be obtained and the groundwater seepage pressure of the tailings dam could be measured too, the height of the free water surface can be calculated then. The commonly used pressure sensor is vibrating wire sensor. Among the many seepage pressure monitoring points, because of the lines, power supply or some other reasons, it often occurs that one or some points do not collect groundwater seepage pressure data for a period of time. For the missing data, BP neural network can be used to mend the missed data. Of course, the patched data should be marked to distinguish it from the real collected data. The mending method of missing seepage pressure data using BP neural network model is analyzed. The influence of anti-normalization parameters on mending data is analyzed. In the process of anti-normalization, the maximum and minimum values of the output data of the training data set are not put to use. Instead, a sequences is formed with the existing output data of some range before and after the mission data segment. The maximum and minimum values of the sequence are selected to use as the anti-normalization parameters. This will make the patched data values closer to the actual collected values. © 2022 IEEE.

Next-Generation Cybersecurity Solution: A Decentralized Ransomware Recovery Network (DRRN) with Secret Sharing

The increasing frequency of ransomware attacks, with a reported growth rate of 59%, has exposed significant vulnerabilities in existing cybersecurity measures. Traditional defenses, such as routine data backups and endpoint protection systems, often fall short against sophisticated ransomware that encrypts data and demands exorbitant payments for decryption keys. These limitations are exacerbated by attackers leveraging centralized storage systems and static recovery methods, making data recovery costly, unreliable, and time-consuming. To address this pressing issue, this paper proposes a novel Decentralized Ransomware Recovery Network, which leverages decentralized storage and secret sharing theory to enhance data security and recovery. The proposed scheme introduces a decentralized encryption/decryption framework that distributes data and keys across the network, reducing the economic incentive for attackers by enabling secure and reliable data recovery without ransom payments. At its core, the system utilizes Shamir’s Secret Sharing Scheme, where encryption keys are divided into shares and distributed among nodes. In the event of an attack, these shares are reconstructed to restore access to the encrypted files. Additionally, the proposed scheme incorporates a dynamic key reconfiguration mechanism, where keys are updated after each recovery process to thwart repeated attacks. Through extensive simulations and evaluations under various scenarios, the proposed scheme demonstrates superior performance in terms of recovery efficiency, security resilience, and adaptability, achieving a significant reduction in attack success rates. By offering a robust and preventative defense mechanism, this research highlights the novelty and practicality of the proposed scheme as an effective cybersecurity strategy against ransomware. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
