A Length-Adaptive Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm for Bi-Objective High-Dimensional Feature Selection

As a crucial data preprocessing method in data mining,feature selection(FS)can be regarded as a bi-objective optimization problem that aims to maximize classification accuracy and minimize the number of selected *** computing(EC)is promising for FS owing to its powerful search ***,in traditional EC-based methods,feature subsets are represented via a length-fixed individual *** is ineffective for high-dimensional data,because it results in a huge search space and prohibitive training *** work proposes a length-adaptive non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm(LA-NSGA)with a length-variable individual encoding and a length-adaptive evolution mechanism for bi-objective highdimensional *** LA-NSGA,an initialization method based on correlation and redundancy is devised to initialize individuals of diverse lengths,and a Pareto dominance-based length change operator is introduced to guide individuals to explore in promising search space ***,a dominance-based local search method is employed for further *** experimental results based on 12 high-dimensional gene datasets show that the Pareto front of feature subsets produced by LA-NSGA is superior to those of existing algorithms.

With the increasing pervasiveness of mobile devices such as smartphones,smart TVs,and wearables,smart sensing,transforming the physical world into digital information based on various sensing medias,has drawn researchers’great *** different sensing medias,WiFi and acoustic signals stand out due to their ubiquity and zero hardware *** on different basic principles,researchers have proposed different technologies for sensing applications with WiFi and acoustic signals covering human activity recognition,motion tracking,indoor localization,health monitoring,and the *** enable readers to get a comprehensive understanding of ubiquitous wireless sensing,we conduct a survey of existing work to introduce their underlying principles,proposed technologies,and practical *** we also discuss some open issues of this research *** survey reals that as a promising research direction,WiFi and acoustic sensing technologies can bring about fancy applications,but still have limitations in hardware restriction,robustness,and applicability.

Dual-Enhanced High-Order Self-Learning Tensor Singular Value Decomposition for Robust Principal Component Analysis

Recently, tensor singular value decomposition (TSVD) within high-order (Ho) algebra framework has shed new light on tensor robust principal component analysis (TRPCA) problem. However, HoTSVD lacks flexibility in handling the hidden correlations along different modes of large-scale multidimensional data. Moreover, the utilization of fixed or data-independent transformations in HoTSVD may result in suboptimality. For a relief, we propose a dual-enhanced self-learning TSVD along all modes to address computational flaws and learn a lossless transformation that induces a lower average-rank tensor. Specifically, we multiply the learnable semiorthogonal matrices obtained through Tucker compression with the original tensor along all modes, thus obtaining a core tensor with more inherent low rankness. Building upon this foundation, a new TNN is introduced by generalizing HoTSVD to Mode-k TSVD, followed by the facilitation to the core tensor, achieving dual-enhancement. Moreover, a reweighting scheme is imposed on the Mode-k HoTSVD to learn the global low-rank correlation and provide an efficient numerical solution. Finally, an alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM)-based algorithm is developed as a solver. Experimental results on several types of multidimensional visual data, including light field images (LFI) and color videos, demonstrate the superiority of the proposal over previous state-of-the-art methods. © 2020 IEEE.

Big climate change data have become a pressing issue that organizations face with methods to analyze data generated from various data types. Moreover, storage, processing, and analysis of data generated from climate change activities are becoming very massive, and are challenging for the current algorithms to handle. Therefore, big data analytics methods are designed for significantly large amounts of data required to enhance seasonal change monitoring and understand and ascertain the health risks of climate change. In addition, analysis of climate change data would improve the allocation, and utilisation of natural resources. This paper provides an extensive discussion of big data analytic methods for climate data analysis and investigates how climate change and sustainability issues can be analyzed through these approaches. We further present the big data analytic methods, strengths, and weaknesses, and the essence of analyzing big climate change using these methods. The common datasets, implementation frameworks for climate change modeling, and future research directions were also presented to enhance the clarity of these compelling climate change analysis challenges. This big data analytics method is well-timed to solve the inherent issues of data analysis and easy realization of sustainable development goals. © The Author(s) 2024.

This research work has been done towards the treatment of Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancer by experimenting as to how a computer aided design can help oncologists classify and segment GI Cancer using Gastroenterology (GE) Images. The concept of Attention Module by the name of Convolution Block Attention Module (CBAM) using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) layers has been utilized to achieve saliency mapping in these images. The different layers of the CNN are tweaked and the hyper parameters are consistently checked and changed to achieve maximum accuracy. The CBAM Algorithm is divided into Channel Attention (CA) and Spatial Attention (SA) module. The Channel Attention has been implemented in the HSV Color Space for finding the best color space for segmentation purposes of the Chromo endoscopy medical images. Classification, followed by segmentation, is again implemented using CNN based model for normal and abnormal cancer images. For classification, 92% test accuracy has been achieved, while 70% Dice Similarity Coefficient has been obtained for segmentation. The results achieved are competitive as compared to the previous reported results on the GE images dataset. © 2024 IEEE.

Defocus blur detection using novel local directional mean patterns(LDMP)and segmentation via KNN matting

Detection and segmentation of defocus blur is a challenging task in digital imaging applications as the blurry images comprise of blur and sharp regions that wrap significant information and require effective methods for information *** defocus blur detection and segmentation methods have several limitations i.e.,discriminating sharp smooth and blurred smooth regions,low recognition rate in noisy images,and high computational cost without having any prior knowledge of images i.e.,blur degree and camera ***,there exists a dire need to develop an effective method for defocus blur detection,and segmentation robust to the above-mentioned *** paper presents a novel features descriptor local directional mean patterns(LDMP)for defocus blur detection and employ KNN matting over the detected LDMP-Trimap for the robust segmentation of sharp and blur *** argue/hypothesize that most of the image fields located in blurry regions have significantly less specific local patterns than those in the sharp regions,therefore,proposed LDMP features descriptor should reliably detect the defocus blurred *** fusion of LDMP features with KNN matting provides superior performance in terms of obtaining high-quality segmented regions in the ***,the proposed LDMP features descriptor is robust to noise and successfully detects defocus blur in high-dense noisy *** results on Shi and Zhao datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in terms of defocus blur *** and comparative analysis signify that our method achieves superior segmentation performance and low computational cost of 15 seconds.

This paper introduces a comprehensive framework for intent-based management of networks, security, and applications in software-defined vehicles (SDVs) within 5G networks. To address the complexities and operational challenges of traditional network management, we propose an Intent-Based system (IBS) that simplifies the administration process by converting highlevel policies into actionable commands or configurations. The practical applicability and robustness of this approach are demonstrated through a testbed implemented using the free5GC platform. Our findings confirm the feasibility of intent-based network management and highlight its potential to enhance operational efficiency and scalability in the rapidly evolving automotive industry. © 2024 IEEE.
