Recent studies show that deep learning models perform well in many medical tasks such as medical imaging and automated diagnosis. With qualified training datasets, some models can achieve or even surpass expert-level performance on some tasks. However, as a typical black-box-style approach, deep learning lacks theoretical interpretability, which is especially important for medical tasks. On the other hand, there are many sources of domain knowledge for medical diagnosis from human experts, such as clinical guidelines. How to sufficiently integrate human knowledge in the model is crucial for explainable diagnosis. In this paper, we propose a novel framework for explainable automated diagnosis that leverages explicit medical knowledge. We automate the knowledge extraction from textual clinical guidelines with prompt-based learning, train a set of weighted first-order logical rules with constructed evidence database, and finally infer the diagnosis result with integrated knowledge and multi-sourced data. We instantiate the framework for pulmonary disease diagnosis, and our experiments on a real dataset show that our method outperforms the state-of-the-art baselines in accuracy and interpretability. © 2022 IEEE.

Diffusion models have made significant contributions to computer vision, sparking a growing interest in the community recently regarding the application of them to graph generation. Existing discrete graph diffusion models exhibit heightened computational complexity and diminished training efficiency. A preferable and natural way is to directly diffuse the graph within the latent space. However, due to the non-Euclidean structure of graphs is not isotropic in the latent space, the existing latent diffusion models effectively make it difficult to capture and preserve the topological information of graphs. To address the above challenges, we propose a novel geometrically latent diffusion framework HypDiff. Specifically, we first establish a geometrically latent space with interpretability measures based on hyperbolic geometry, to define anisotropic latent diffusion processes for graphs. Then, we propose a geometrically latent diffusion process that is constrained by both radial and angular geometric properties, thereby ensuring the preservation of the original topological properties in the generative graphs. Extensive experimental results demonstrate the superior effectiveness of HypDiff for graph generation with various topologies. Copyright 2024 by the author(s)

Facial expression recognition (FER) has made significant progress in the past decade, but the inconsistency of distribution between different datasets greatly limits the generalization performance of a learned model on unseen datasets. Recent works resort to aligning feature distributions between domains to improve the cross-domain recognition performance. However, current algorithms use one output each layer for the feature representation, which can not well represent the complex correlation among multi-scale features. To this end, this work proposes a parallel convolution to augment the representation ability of each layer, and introduces an orthogonal regularization to make each convolution represent independent semantic. With the assistance of a self-attention mechanism, the proposed algorithm can generate multiple combinations of multi-scale features to allow the network to better capture the correlation among the outputs of different layers. The proposed algorithm achieves state-of-the-art (SOTA) performances in terms of the average generalization performance on the task of cross-database (CD)-FER. Meanwhile, when AFED or RAF-DB is used for the training, and other four databases, i.e. JAFFE, SFEW, FER2013 and EXPW are used for testing, the proposed algorithm outperforms the baselines by the margins of 5.93% and 2.24% in terms of the average accuracy. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

LRASGen: LLM-based RESTful API Specification Generation

REpresentation State Transfer (REST) is an architectural style for designing web applications that enable scalable, stateless communication between clients and servers via common HTTP techniques. Web APIs that employ the REST style are known as RESTful (or REST) APIs. When using or testing a RESTful API, developers may need to employ its specification, which is often defined by open-source standards such as the OpenAPI Specification (OAS). However, it can be very time-consuming and error-prone to write and update these specifications, which may negatively impact the use of RESTful APIs, especially when the software requirements change. Many tools and methods have been proposed to solve this problem, such as Respector and Swagger Core. OAS generation can be regarded as a common text-generation task that creates a formal description of API endpoints derived from the source code. A potential solution for this may involve using Large Language Models (LLMs), which have strong capabilities in both code understanding and text generation. Motivated by this, we propose a novel approach for generating the OASs of RESTful APIs using LLMs: LLM-based RESTful API-Specification Generation (LRASGen). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first use of LLMs and API source code to generate OASs for RESTful APIs. Compared with existing tools and methods, LRASGen can generate the OASs, even when the implementation is incomplete (with partial code, and/or missing annotations/comments, etc.). To evaluate the LRASGen performance, we conducted a series of empirical studies on 20 real-world RESTful APIs: These studies examined the precision, recall, and F1-score when identifying the four main entities, i.e., endpoint methods and parameters, parameter constraints, and endpoint responses. The results show that two LLMs (GPT-4o mini and DeepSeek V3) can both support LARSGen to generate accurate specifications, and LRASGen-generated specifications cover an average of 48.85% more missed entit

Telemedicine plays an important role in Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19).The virtual surgery simulation system,as a key component in telemedicine,requires to compute in ***,this paper proposes a realtime cutting model based on finite element and order reduction method,which improves the computational speed and ensure the real-time *** proposed model uses the finite element model to construct a deformation model of the virtual ***,a model order reduction method combining proper orthogonal decomposition and Galerkin projection is employed to reduce the amount of deformation *** addition,the cutting path is formed according to the collision intersection position of the surgical instrument and the lesion area of the virtual ***,the Bezier curve is adopted to draw the incision outline after the virtual lung has been ***,the simulation system is set up on the PHANTOM OMNI force haptic feedback device to realize the cutting simulation of the virtual *** results show that the proposed model can enhance the real-time performance of telemedicine,reduce the complexity of the cutting simulation and make the incision smoother and more natural.

Trust is essential in the constantly developing environment of online social networks. The Nexus Terroism Impact and Intro Trust facilitate the communication, decision-making, and maintenance of digital communities among individuals. Trust-based Learning with Classification Principle (TLCP) is introduced in this research to improve the assessment of trust in social networks. To ascertain its efficacy, our proposed methodology undergoes a 10-fold cross-validation against the Trust Assessment Methodology (TAM). The traditional Trust Assessment Model (TAM) evaluates and regulates trust in Internet social networking. This method incorporates trust assessment factors to generate a user dependability judgment that is both discriminatory and dynamic. The Trustworthy Account Management (TAM) challenge is designed to enhance digital trust by addressing disinformation, deception, and hostile conduct. The TLCP is able to accurately evaluate trust by utilizing reputation scoring, community analysis, and user behavior metrics. Trust levels are dynamically adjusted as a result of the identification of trustworthy behavioral patterns and danger indicators by machine learning algorithms and social media data. This research examines the connections between trust management and digital interactions and suggests a general solution to alleviate specific trust evaluation issues across online social networks. © 2024 IEEE.

Transferring knowledge across diverse data modalities is receiving increasing attention in machine learning. This paper tackles the task of leveraging expert-derived, yet expensive, tabular data to enhance image-based predictions when tabular data is unavailable during inference. The primary challenges stem from the inherent complexity of accurately mapping diverse tabular data to visual contexts, coupled with the necessity to devise distinct strategies for numerical and categorical tabular attributes. We propose CHannel tAbulaR alignment with optiMal tranSport (CHARMS), which establishes an alignment between image channels and tabular attributes, enabling selective knowledge transfer that is pertinent to visual features. Specifically, CHARMS measures similarity distributions across modalities to effectively differentiate and transfer relevant tabular features, with a focus on morphological characteristics, enhancing the capabilities of visual classifiers. By maximizing the mutual information between image channels and tabular features, knowledge from both numerical and categorical tabular attributes are extracted. Experimental results demonstrate that CHARMS not only enhances the performance of image classifiers but also improves their interpretability by effectively utilizing tabular knowledge.

PointDGMamba: Domain Generalization of Point Cloud Classification via Generalized State Space Model

Domain Generalization (DG) has been recently explored to improve the generalizability of point cloud classification (PCC) models toward unseen domains. However, they often suffer from limited receptive fields or quadratic complexity due to using convolution neural networks or vision Transformers. In this paper, we present the first work that studies the generalizability of state space models (SSMs) in DG PCC and find that directly applying SSMs into DG PCC will encounter several challenges: the inherent topology of the point cloud tends to be disrupted and leads to noise accumulation during the serialization stage. Besides, the lack of designs in domain-agnostic feature learning and data scanning will introduce unanticipated domain-specific information into the 3D sequence data. To this end, we propose a novel framework, PointDGMamba, that excels in strong generalizability toward unseen domains and has the advantages of global receptive fields and efficient linear complexity. PointDGMamba consists of three innovative components: Masked Sequence Denoising (MSD), Sequence-wise Cross-domain Feature Aggregation (SCFA), and Dual-level Domain Scanning (DDS). In particular, MSD selectively masks out the noised point tokens of the point cloud sequences, SCFA introduces cross-domain but same-class point cloud features to encourage the model to learn how to extract more generalized features. DDS includes intra-domain scanning and cross-domain scanning to facilitate information exchange between features. In addition, we propose a new and more challenging benchmark PointDG-3to1 for multi-domain generalization. Federated learning is a privacy-preserving machine learning paradigm where a global model is trained collaboratively across resource-limited devices such as mobile phones, wearable devices, and sensors while the training data remains on these devices. Recently proposed asynchronous federated learning framework FedAsync has addressed the problems occurred in synchronous federated learning such as wasting time waiting for all nodes to finish uploading or losing parts of the contribution of nodes due to some unexpected reasons. However, on the server-side, it is not suitable for concurrency due to the data race on the global model. We proposed a method named FedCrowd, where the server's concurrency is improved by elaborately coordinating the working threads to relieve the data race on the global model. Several experiments are performed to show that our method could effectively increase concurrency of the server and reduce the training time. © 2022 IEEE.

Edge computing is a novel computing paradigm that offers kinds of resources at the network edge. In edge computing, terminal users are connected to edge servers via the wireless network and there are various channels in each wireless link. These wireless channels are limited resource while different channel has different cost and service ability. The dynamic changes of users' status make it harder to find an appropriate method to satisfy the BPM requirements of channel deployment. With this observation, it is a tricky challenge to make a trade-off between the system cost(rental price) and the service ability(number of users). In view of this challenge, an intelligent resource scheduling method, named EdgeIRS, is proposed in this paper. In the technical sense, the EdgeIRS method can accommodate most users at the edge with a minimum cost of deploying channel resources in an online way. Its performance is analyzed theoretically and the experiments verify the superiority of the method. © 2022 IEEE.
