The aim of this paper is to analyze the Accellion File Transfer Attack. In December 2020, a group of malicious actors breached the Accellion FTA system. The FTA system is used to transfer mass amounts of data quickly and efficiently between multiple systems. Once Accellion's appliance was breached, malicious actors copied data and threatened to release the data onto the internet if not paid a ransom. In order to prevent this from taking place, Accellion, as well as multiple client companies, assisted breached establishments with defense solutions, customer support, and ransom advice. Our findings indicate that Accellion was breached through four separate exploits. The main hacking methodology used was an SQL injection. Once into the system, attackers could view which transferred data was sensitive due to it being flagged with a special 'sensitive' mark. Our findings are valuable because they express how companies should go about handling ransomware attacks. Our findings also indicate a solution for this type of attack and how a company should respond if they are faced with a ransomware attack. © 2022 university of Split, FESB.

The flourish of deep learning frameworks and hardware platforms has been demanding an efficient compiler that can shield the diversity in both software and hardware in order to provide application *** the existing deep learning compilers,TVM is well known for its efficiency in code generation and optimization across diverse hardware *** the meanwhile,the Sunway many-core processor renders itself as a competitive candidate for its attractive computational power in both scientific computing and deep learning *** paper combines the trends in these two ***,we propose swTVM that extends the original TVM to support ahead-of-time compilation for architecture requiring cross-compilation such as *** addition,we leverage the architecture features during the compilation such as core group for massive parallelism,DMA for high bandwidth memory transfer and local device memory for data locality,in order to generate efficient codes for deep learning workloads on *** experiment results show that the codes generated by swTVM achieve 1.79x improvement of inference latency on average compared to the state-of-the-art deep learning framework on Sunway,across eight representative *** work is the first attempt from the compiler perspective to bridge the gap of deep learning and Sunway processor particularly with productivity and efficiency in *** believe this work will encourage more people to embrace the power of deep learning and Sunwaymany-coreprocessor.

Multi-Scale Fusion and Decomposition Network for Single Image Deraining

Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and self-attention (SA) have demonstrated remarkable success in low-level vision tasks, such as image super-resolution, deraining, and dehazing. The former excels in acquiring local connections with translation equivariance, while the latter is better at capturing long-range dependencies. However, both CNNs and Transformers suffer from individual limitations, such as limited receptive field and weak diversity representation of CNNs during low efficiency and weak local relation learning of SA. To this end, we propose a multi-scale fusion and decomposition network (MFDNet) for rain perturbation removal, which unifies the merits of these two architectures while maintaining both effectiveness and efficiency. To achieve the decomposition and association of rain and rain-free features, we introduce an asymmetrical scheme designed as a dual-path mutual representation network that enables iterative refinement. Additionally, we incorporate high-efficiency convolutions throughout the network and use resolution rescaling to balance computational complexity with performance. Comprehensive evaluations show that the proposed approach outperforms most of the latest SOTA deraining methods and is versatile and robust in various image restoration tasks, including underwater image enhancement, image dehazing, and low-light image enhancement. Transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative games

In blockchain networks, transactions can be transmitted through channels. The existing transmission methods depend on their routing information. If a node randomly chooses a channel to transmit a transaction, the transmission may be aborted due to insufficient funds(also called balance) or a low transmission rate. To increase the success rate and reduce transmission delay across all transactions, this work proposes a transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative game *** balance, channel states, and transmission probability are fully considered. This work then presents an optimized channel transaction transmission algorithm. First, channel balances are analyzed and suitable channels are selected if their balance is sufficient. Second, a Nash equilibrium point is found by using an iterative sub-gradient method and its related channels are then used to transmit transactions. The proposed method is compared with two state-of-the-art approaches: Silent Whispers and Speedy Murmurs. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves transmission success rate, reduces transmission delay,and effectively decreases transmission overhead in comparison with its two competitive peers.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a large-scale network of devices capable of sensing, data processing, and communicating with each other through different communication protocols. In today's technology ecosystem, IoT interacts with many application areas such as smart city, smart building, security, traffic, remote monitoring, health, energy, disaster, agriculture, industry. The IoT network in these scenarios comprises tiny devices, gateways, and cloud platforms. An IoT network is able to keep these fundamental components in transmission under many conditions with lightweight communication protocols taking into account the limited hardware features (memory, processor, energy, etc.) of tiny devices. These lightweight communication protocols affect the network traffic, reliability, bandwidth, and energy consumption of the IoT application. Therefore, determining the most proper communication protocol for application developers emerges as an important engineering problem. This paper presents a straightforward overview of the lightweight communication protocols, technological advancements in application layer for the IoT ecosystem. The survey then analyzes various recent lightweight communication protocols and reviews their strengths and limitations. In addition, the paper explains the experimental comparison of Constrained Applications Protocol (CoAP), Message Queuing Telemetry (MQTT), and WebSocket protocols, more convenient for tiny IoT devices. Finally, we discuss future research directions of communication protocols for IoT.

Heterogeneous Domain Adaptation via Correlative and Discriminative Feature Learning

Heterogeneous domain adaptation seeks to learn an effective classifier or regression model for unlabeled target samples by using the well-labeled source samples but residing in different feature spaces and lying different distributions. Most recent works have concentrated on learning domain-invariant feature representations to minimize the distribution divergence via target pseudo-labels. However, two critical issues need to be further explored: 1) new feature representations should be not only domain-invariant but also category-correlative and discriminative, and 2) alleviating the negative transfer caused by the incorrect pseudo-labeling target samples could boost the adaptation performance during the iterative learning process. To address these issues, in this paper, we put forward a novel heterogeneous domain adaptation method to learn category-correlative and discriminative representations, referred to as correlative and discriminative feature learning (CDFL). Specifically, CDFL aims to learn a feature space where class-specific feature correlations between the source and target domains are maximized, the divergences of marginal and conditional distribution between the source and target domains are minimized, and the distances of inter-class distribution are forced to be maximized to ensure the discriminative ability. Meanwhile, a selective pseudo-labeling procedure based on the correlation coefficient and classifier prediction is introduced to boost class-specific feature correlation and discriminative distribution alignment in an iteration way. Extensive experiments certify that CDFL outperforms the state-of-the-art algorithms on five standard benchmarks. © 1999-2012 IEEE.

Models trained with adversarial attack can be significantly improved stability and performance when faced with new uncertain environment. In this paper, we propose the robust training framework based on Wasserstein SA-MDP for safe RL, which combines ideas from reinforcement learning, adversarial examples generation, Wasserstein metric and robust training. This framework can improve the robustness of safe RL models against adversarial attacks by considering the dynamics of the adversarial interaction as a sequential decision-making process. We made the experiment in safety gym based on the proposed framework and report the experimental results. © 2024 IEEE.

As a significant field within data mining, association rule mining plays a pivotal role in unveiling relationships between items within a dataset. Existing approaches in multivariate time series (MTS) association rule mining primarily emphasize the generation of association rules by combining features from different variables, but neglect to adequately consider the temporal relationship between these features and ignore the trend information of variables, resulting in an incomplete capture of the essential characteristics inherent in MTS data. In this paper, we introduce a novel framework for association rule mining in multivariate time series. First, we discretize the multivariate time series into the symbolic sequence using trend-based symbolic aggregate approximation(TSAX). Then, a rule mining method is introduced to discover association rules that consider the temporal relationship among symbols of different variables. The results of experiments demonstrate the discovery of significant rules within the 'Weather&Traffic' dataset which gives the traffic conditions in France depending on the weather. Further, we also provide the outcomes of the sensitivity analysis conducted on our method, illustrating that significant rules can be mined by adjusting the parameters of TSAX to different settings. The experimental results highlight the utility of our proposed framework in discovering temporal association rules within multivariate time series datasets. © 2024 IEEE.
