Point cloud completion via structured feature maps using a feedback network

In this paper,we tackle the challenging problem of point cloud completion from the perspective of feature *** key observation is that to recover the underlying structures as well as surface details,given partial input,a fundamental component is a good feature representation that can capture both global structure and local geometric *** accordingly first propose FSNet,a feature structuring module that can adaptively aggregate point-wise features into a 2D structured feature map by learning multiple latent patterns from local *** then integrate FSNet into a coarse-to-fine pipeline for point cloud ***,a 2D convolutional neural network is adopted to decode feature maps from FSNet into a coarse and complete point ***,a point cloud upsampling network is used to generate a dense point cloud from the partial input and the coarse intermediate *** efficiently exploit local structures and enhance point distribution uniformity,we propose IFNet,a point upsampling module with a self-correction mechanism that can progressively refine details of the generated dense point *** have conducted qualitative and quantitative experiments on ShapeNet,MVP,and KITTI datasets,which demonstrate that our method outperforms stateof-the-art point cloud completion approaches.

Diabetic Retinopathy Image Segmentation Method Based on Fusion DenseNet and U-Net Network

Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is a common and significant complication in patients with diabetes, and severely affecting their quality of life. Image segmentation plays a crucial role in the early diagnosis and treatment of DR. However, traditional methods are limited in terms of segmentation accuracy and generalization capability. This paper proposes a novel image segmentation method for diabetic retinopathy based on the integration of DenseNet and U-Net networks. Firstly, DenseNet is utilized to replace the encoder part of U-Net. The dense connection mechanism enhances the efficiency of feature propagation and improves the feature extraction capability of the encoder. Secondly, we introduce Omni-Dimensional Dynamic Convolution (ODConv) to replace traditional convolutions. ODConv is used to handle diverse input features effectively. The model's adaptability and segmentation accuracy for various samples is improved. Finally, we integrate the Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM) into the decoder. By leveraging channel and spatial attention, the ability to capture key features is enhanced, and the segmentation accuracy and boundary recognition capabilities are improved. To validate the effectiveness and feasibility of the model. This paper conducts experiments on the DDR dataset and the IDRID dataset. The experimental results show that the proposed method improved the mDice score by 0.53% compared to traditional methods. It also increased the mIoU score by 1.12% over traditional methods. This indicates that the proposed method has better performance in segmenting diabetic retinopathy images. DevDynaP: A Dynamic Local Community Detection Algorithm

Recent years have witnessed the rapid growth of social network services. Real-world social networks are huge and changing over time. Consequently, the problems in this area have become more complex. Community detection is one of the most important problems in social networks. A good community can be defined as a group of nodes that are highly connected to each other and loosely connected to the nodes outside the community. Regarding the fact that social networks are huge in size, having complete information about the whole network is almost impossible. As a result, the problem of local community detection has become more popular in recent years. However, the problem of community detection in dynamic networks is well-investigated, the local community detection is not widely addressed by researchers in dynamic networks. In this paper, a dynamic local community detection algorithm is proposed. The purpose of the proposed algorithm is to explore the network as fast as possible and detect communities as well. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm discovers the unknown parts of networks faster than similar algorithms. Also, the detected communities by the proposed algorithm outperform that of the compared algorithm in different snapshots. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Named Entity Recognition in Electronic Medical Records Incorporating Pre-trained and Multi-Head Attention

Chinese Named Entity Recognition (NER) for Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is a fundamental task in building a digital hospital and is widely considered to be a sequence annotation problem in the Natural Language Processing domain. (NLP). However, existing deep learning sequence annotation models cannot fully use the large amount of unannotated data for Chinese EMRs that contain a vast number of professional unregistered words, named entities, and inter-of-entity relationships carrying rich professional knowledge. Moreover, the syntactic structure of EMR sentences is complex, and the text is long;the features of the EMR documents often cannot be captured deeply. Aiming at these two problems, this paper proposes a deep learning method that combines Multi-Head Attention with a pre-trained language model. (BERT-BiGRU-Att-CRF). The method uses the BERT pre-trained model to obtain dynamic word vectors combined with contextual information, extracts global semantic features through a Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit (BiGRU), obtains augmented semantic features by using the Multi-Head Attention. Finally, using Conditional Random Field (CRF) decoding, outputs the globally optimal label sequence with greatest probability. The model is trained using the CCKS2019 Chinese EMR dataset containing six types of entities: anatomical sites, surgeries, diseases and diagnoses, medicines, laboratory tests, and imaging tests, and good results are achieved with an F1 score of 86.97%. © (2024) International Association of Engineers.

Central Attention Mechanism for Convolutional Neural Networks

Model performance has been significantly enhanced by channel attention. The average pooling procedure creates skewness, lowering the performance of the network architecture. In the channel attention approach, average pooling is used to collect feature information to provide representative values. By leveraging the central limit theorem, we hypothesize that the strip-shaped average pooling operation will generate a one-dimensional tensor by considering the spatial position information of the feature map. The resulting tensor, obtained through average pooling, serves as the representative value for the features, mitigating skewness during the process. By incorporating the concept of the central limit theorem into the channel attention operation process, this study introduces a novel attention mechanism known as the"Central Attention Mechanism (CAM)." Instead of directly using average pooling to generate channel representative values, the central attention approach employs star-stripe average pooling to normalize multiple feature representative values into a single representative value. In this way, strip-shaped average pooling can be utilized to collect data and generate a one-dimensional tensor, while star-stripe average pooling can provide feature representative values based on different spatial directions. To generate channel attention for the complementary input features, the activation of the feature representation value is performed for each channel. Our attention approach is flexible and can be seamlessly incorporated into various traditional network structures. Through rigorous testing, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our attention strategy, which can be applied to a wide range of computer vision applications and outperforms previous attention techniques. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). In the era of data-driven decision-making, the ability to rapidly and accurately analyze vast amounts of textual data is essential. This paper examines the role of text pre-processing techniques in enhancing the effectiveness of sentiment classification algorithms. Such algorithms are pivotal in interpreting the emotional tone of texts and serving as a preliminary step towards reverse-engineering complex data systems. Through comprehensive analysis, we assess the impact of various preprocessing strategies such as keyword removal, lemmatization, and stemming and their combination on the performance of both traditional and advanced machine learning models, including Random Forest, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), and Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT). The current study evaluates the balance between efficiency and accuracy in sentiment analysis algorithms, illustrating the impact of preprocessing techniques. In addition, it aims to serve as a guideline for selecting preprocessing methods that optimize model performance in both sentiment analysis and textual data reverse-engineering. © 2024 IEEE.

Impact of optimizers functions on detection of Melanoma using transfer learning architectures

Early diagnosis-treatment of melanoma is very important because of its dangerous nature and rapid spread. When diagnosed correctly and early, the recovery rate of patients increases significantly. Physical methods are not sufficient for diagnosis and classification. The aim of this study is to use a hybrid method that combines different deep learning methods in the classification of melanoma and to investigate the effect of optimizer methods used in deep learning methods on classification performance. In the study, Melanoma detection was carried out from the skin lesions image through a simulation created with the deep learning architectures DenseNet, InceptionV3, ResNet50, InceptionResNetV2 and MobileNet and seven optimizers: SGD, Adam, RmsProp, AdaDelta, AdaGrad, Adamax and Nadam. The results of the study show that SGD has better and more stable performance in terms of convergence rate, training speed and performance than other optimizers. In addition, the momentum parameter added to the structure of the SGD optimizer reduces the oscillation and training time compared to other functions. It was observed that the best melanoma detection among the combined methods was achieved using the DenseNet model and SGD optimizer with a test accuracy of 0.949, test sensitivity 0.9403, and test F score 0.9492. © The Author(s) 2024.

Finite-Time Sliding Mode Control of Vehicle Formation with Specified Performance

The current urban intelligent transportation is in a rapid development stage, and coherence control of vehicle formations has important implications in urban intelligent transportation research. This article focuses on the problem of urban intelligent transportation planning, and proposes a new control method for vehicle formation regulation tracking performance control with bounded disturbances and model uncertainty, combining the multiple advantages of sliding mode control and finite time control and utilizing the universal approximation of neural network. This method can ensure that the vehicle formation can achieve the specified tracking performance and be stable in finite time instead of asymptotically stable. First, the third-order dynamics model and spacing strategy of the vehicle are given. The tracking performance of the vehicle formation is specified. Then, the control objective of the system is transformed by using the error transformation to obtain a new system. An improved sliding mode surface is designed for the transformed system. Furthermore, the universal approximation property of the neural network is utilised to overcome the parameter uncertainty in the system. The reconstruction error of neural network is handled by a robust term. In addition, the jittery vibration phenomenon of sliding mode control has been overcome. Finally, the finite-time stability of the system is analysed by constructing the Lyapunov function, simulations were performed to validate and compare with conventional control methods, simulation results show that the novel control method proposed in this paper is significantly faster than the conventional control method, validated the effectiveness of the method proposed in this paper. © 2025, International Association of Engineers. Clustering and Artificial Intelligence-based Prediction of Ecologically Sustainable Species Introductions

There is a growing interest in sustainable ecosystem development, which includes methods such as scientific modeling, environmental assessment, and development forecasting and planning. However, due to insufficient survey data in many current development areas, development progress is delayed and stagnant. To address this situation, this paper proposes a SWOT-TOPSIS-K-Means (STK) data analysis and evaluation model to analyze ecological factors, which can realize a comprehensive and complete data analysis with fewer samples. Decision tree (DT), random forest (RF), and multilayer perceptron (MLP) neural network models were constructed from the results of this analysis, and statistical tests such as r-squared, mean absolute error, and cross-validation are used to further confirm the performance efficiency of the computational prediction models to provide real-time prediction research solutions. For this purpose, data from research scholars on species introduction in ecosystem development were selected for testing. The results show that the proposed assessment model and modeling results satisfy all accuracy-related acceptance requirements. Among them, MLP is better than DT and RF. In summary, the STK assessment model and the MLP prediction model can provide a basis for the selection and development of ecological factors. © (2025), (International Association of Engineers).
