In the wet semiconductor process, abrasive nanoparticles are widely used in the chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) process to polish wafer surfaces for high planarization. During polishing, nanoparticles move with a high-speed three-dimensional (3D) position in the solution. In the 3D particles's moving positions, Z is a perpendicular longitudinal distance between the surface to the nanoparticle that plays a significant role in polishing, which could not be measured by general microscopy without longitudinal scanning. To understand nanoparticle phenomena near-surface, we have proposed and developed the apparatus with real-time fastmotion tracking on optical multi-wavelength evanescent fields microscopy to measure the 3D motion of the nanoparticle in water without scanning. In euspen's 2020, we could verify the relative distance ?Z of nanoparticles in water, but the absolute distance Z is unknown yet. In this manuscript, we have therefore developed an invisible nano-step height in water to verify the absolute height Z of an individual nanoparticle. The invisible nano-step height in water is made from an optical resin with a refractive index of 1.35 that is close to a refractive index of water to avoid unnecessary light during experimental verification. The nano-step height was less than 100 nm on a glass surface, fabricated using nanoimprint lithography. Polystyrene f100 nm standard particles in water were used to verify the height Z. The results of height Z of nanoparticles could be measured less than 100 nm with the measurement uncertainty ±10 nm (2s), which is related to the interferometer result of the nano-step height. © European Society for Precision engineering and Nanotechnology, Conference Proceedings - 22nd International Conference and Exhibition, EUSPEN 2022. The growing demand for location-based services in areas like virtual reality, robot control, and navigation has intensified the focus on indoor localization. Visible light positioning (VLP), leveraging visible light communications (VLC), becomes a promising indoor positioning technology due to its high accuracy and low cost. This paper provides a comprehensive survey of VLP systems. In particular, since VLC lays the foundation for VLP, we first present a detailed overview of the principles of VLC. Then, we provide an in-depth overview of VLP algorithms. The performance of each positioning algorithm is also compared in terms of various metrics such as accuracy, coverage, and orientation limitation. Beyond the physical layer studies, the network design for a VLP system is also investigated, including multi-access technologies, resource allocation, and light-emitting diode (LED) placements. Next, the applications of the VLP systems are overviewed. Finally, this paper outlines open issues, challenges, and opportunities for the research field. In a nutshell, this paper constitutes the first holistic survey on VLP from state-of-the-art studies to practical uses. © 1998-2012 IEEE.

Research on fake news has gained significant traction in a number of fields, We describe how the issue is tackled from a natural language processing standpoint in this research with the aim of developing identify false material in news. Collecting high-quality data, such as examples of false and actual news stories on a diverse range of subjects, is the key obstacle in this field of study. We examine the available before introducing the site as our lab's gift to the . We provide the whole text of the news that have already been applied based on human evaluation of the articles' authenticity. In order to clarify the gaps and causes of imbalance in the datasets that are now accessible and to direct ongoing attempts, we also conduct an appearance-based experiment. We urge the public to gather more information and make it accessible for study. ©2024 IEEE.

This paper addresses model predictive control of a class of linear systems subject to additive stochastic disturbances and constraints. The underlying stochastic optimal control problem combines inverse cumulative distribution functions with ellipsoid-in-polyhedron formulations to reduce the conservatism induced by constraint satisfaction. By use of terminal constraints and time-varying weights within the cost functional, the presented control scheme satisfies criteria for mean-square stability and can be adapted to reference-tracking problems for arbitrary reference signals.

Graph Transformers, which incorporate self-attention and positional encoding, have recently emerged as a powerful architecture for various graph learning tasks. Despite their impressive performance, the complex non-convex interactions across layers and the recursive graph structure have made it challenging to establish a theoretical foundation for learning and generalization. This study introduces the first theoretical investigation of a shallow Graph Transformer for semi-supervised node classification, comprising a self-attention layer with relative positional encoding and a two-layer perceptron. Focusing on a graph data model with discriminative nodes that determine node labels and non-discriminative nodes that are class-irrelevant, we characterize the sample complexity required to achieve a desirable generalization error by training with stochastic gradient descent (SGD). This paper provides the quantitative characterization of the sample complexity and number of iterations for convergence dependent on the fraction of discriminative nodes, the dominant patterns, and the initial model errors. Furthermore, we demonstrate that self-attention and positional encoding enhance generalization by making the attention map sparse and promoting the core neighborhood during training, which explains the superior feature representation of Graph Transformers. Our theoretical results are supported by empirical experiments on synthetic and real-world benchmarks. Copyright 2024 by the author(s)

This research aims to transcribe audio into text using the pre-trained Whisper model, focusing on Bugis, a low-resource language. A key challenge in transcribing local languages like Bugis is the limited availability of language model. To address this, we implemented an algorithmic correction approach that does not require extensive datasets or computationally demanding customizations. The Whisper model provides an initial transcription, serving as a foundation;however, the output often lacks accuracy due to the absence of specific adjustments for Bugis. To enhance accuracy, we applied the Levenshtein distance algorithm to correct word errors by comparing transcription results with entries in a Bugis language dataset based on similarity. Although this method is not fully precise and depends on the completeness of the reference dataset, evaluation results indicate that it effectively lowers the word error rate (WER) and improves transcription accuracy. This research produces SRT files containing transcripts that have been corrected using the Levenhstein distance algorithm, which not only improves accessibility but also contributes to the preservation of Bugis language through digital media. This approach is expected to provide a practical solution to improve transcription accuracy and support more accurate documentation in Bugis language preservation efforts. © 2024 IEEE.

The accuracy of solar cell models is crucial for enhancing the performance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. However, existing solar cell models lack precise parameters, and the manufacturer's datasheet does not provide the required information for reliable modeling. Consequently, accurate parameter estimation becomes necessary. This paper presents a simple multi-objective optimization algorithm (Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization and Rat Search Algorithm (PSORSA)) designed to estimate cell parameters based on this observation. Unlike other optimization algorithms addressing this issue, the proposed algorithm aims to overcome challenges related to local minima and premature convergence, which often lead to suboptimal results. The paper focuses on assessing the reliability of the proposed algorithm by comparing its performance with other well-known optimization algorithms. The proposed optimizing algorithm is tested on the CEC 2019 benchmark function. Experimental results (RMSE), including statistical analysis, validate the algorithm's effectiveness by comparing them with other algorithms. At the end, non-parametric test is performed to justify the outcomes, vouching for the better performance of the proposed algorithm. The findings demonstrate that the proposed algorithms are particularly well-suited for estimating solar PV models. With its simple structure and high accuracy, the proposed algorithm exhibits great potential for various applications in the field of solar energy. Moreover, its computational efficiency and ease of implementation further contribute to its practicality. © The Author(s) 2024.

SPViT: Accelerate Vision Transformer Inference on Mobile Devices via Adaptive Splitting and Offloading

The Vision Transformer (ViT), which benefits from utilizing self-attention mechanisms, has demonstrated superior accuracy compared to CNNs. However, due to the expensive computational costs, deploying and inferring ViTs on resource-constrained mobile devices has become a challenge. To resolve this challenge, we conducted an empirical analysis to identify performance bottlenecks in deploying ViTs on mobile devices and explored viable solutions. In this paper, we propose SPViT, an adaptive split and offloading method that accelerates ViT inference on mobile devices. SPViT executes collaborative inference of ViT across available edge devices. We introduce a fine-grained splitting technique for the vision transformer structure. Furthermore, we propose an algorithm based on the Auto Regression model to predict partition latency and adaptive offload partitions. Finally, we design offline and online optimization methods to minimize the computational and communication overhead on each device. Based on real-world prototype experiments, SPViT effectively reduces inference latency by 2.2x to 3.3x across four state-of-the-art models. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Automating the synthesis of User Interfaces (UIs) plays a crucial role in enhancing productivity and accelerating the development lifecycle, reducing both development time and manual effort. Recently, the rapid development of Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) has made it possible to generate front-end Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) code directly from webpage designs. However, real-world webpages encompass not only a diverse array of HTML tags but also complex stylesheets, resulting in significantly lengthy code. The lengthy code poses challenges for the performance and efficiency of MLLMs, especially in capturing the structural information of UI designs. To address these challenges, this paper proposes UICopilot, a novel approach to automating UI synthesis via hierarchical code generation from webpage designs. The core idea of UICopilot is to decompose the generation process into two stages: first, generating the coarse-grained HTML hierarchical structure, followed by the generation of fine-grained code. To validate the effectiveness of UICopilot, we conduct experiments on a real-world dataset, i.e., WebCode2M. Experimental results demonstrate that UICopilot significantly outperforms existing baselines in both automatic evaluation metrics and human evaluations. Specifically, statistical analysis reveals that the majority of human annotators prefer the webpages generated by UICopilot over those produced by GPT-4V. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Speech Recognition focuses on developing advanced technologies that can recognize and translate spoken language into text. Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology that captures human voice from a mi-crophone and analyzes it based on spoken words to comprehend natural language. In Ethiopia, ASR models have been developed for specific local languages such as Amharic, Tigrigna, Wolaytta, and Afaan Oromo, but there has been a lack of research on ASR models for the Hadiyyisa language, which is also spoken in Ethiopia. The research study designed and developed an ASR model for the Hadiyyisa language. The researchers collected data from native speakers of the Hadiyyisa language and used Python programming to design and develop the deep learning model for the Hadiyissa ASR model. Different methods and techniques were used in the study to achieve the research objectives and complete the entire research process. The proposed model utilized deep learning algorithms including RNN, LSTM, BiLSTM, and CNN, along with suitable feature extraction techniques such as Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC). The accuracy of the proposed ASR model was evaluated through experimentation, which demonstrated that the BiLSTM model outperformed the other deep learning models with an overall accuracy of 90.95 % Based on the experimental evidence, the proposed model was found to be better suited for ASR for the Hadiyyisa language. © 2023 IEEE.
