Power-to-Liquid (PtL) fuels will be vital in achieving carbon neutrality. This study uses a energy system optimization model to analyze the market-based export potential of PtL fuels from Chile on the path to 2050. The sector-integrated energy system model minimizes the of capacity expansion in five-year steps. Our analysis shows that under the assumptions made, Chile is able to phase out the use of fossil resources and significantly export Fischer-Tropsch fuels in 2030, 2040 and 2050 at competitive marginal costs. The study focuses on the impact of export volumes, CO2 budgets, and expansion limits for 2030, 2040, and 2050. The model results show that the production of PtL enables the connection of level 1 renewable resources in remote, off-grid regions in Chile to global demand centres. The achievable export volumes and corresponding costs are discussed from a European perspective. Finally, it is presented that the necessary expansion rates for Chile's wind and solar power plants must be significantly higher than historical values in all cases. © Energynautics GmbH.

Learning distinguishing features from training datasets while filtering features of occlusions is critical to person retrieval scenarios. Most of the current person re-identification (Re-ID) methods based on classification or deep metric representation learning tend to overlook occlusion issues on the training set. Such representations from obstacles are easily over-fitted and misleading due to being considered as a part of the human body. To alleviate the occlusion problem, we propose a pose-guided feature region-based fusion network (PFRFN), to utilize pose landmarks as guidance to guide local learning for a good property of local feature, and the representation learning risk is evaluated on each part loss separately. Compared with only using global classification loss, concurrently considering local loss and the results of robust pose estimation enable the deep network to learn the representations of the body parts that prominently displayed in the image and gain the discriminative faculties on occluded scenes. Experimental results on multiple datasets, i.e., Market-1501, DukeMTMC, CUHK03, demonstrate the effectiveness of our method in a variety of scenarios. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH, DE part of Springer Nature.

Identification of a Distant Speaker and Its Robustness*

Robust speaker identification is presented for speech recorded by distant microphones. Three compensation approaches are investigated to improve the robustness of speaker identification in such environments. The first approach applies spectral subtraction before feature extraction to reduce the late-reverberation effect. The second approach makes use of feature warping as feature compensation in distant speaker identification under mismatched training-testing conditions. The third approach employs a novel method of initializing Gaussian mixture model parameters: combined division and k-means clustering. The experiment results show that, relative to the baseline system based on CMN, the channel-average recognition rates for the compensated system were 11.4%, 15.4%, 17.0%, and 17.8% higher for the TIMIT database and 6.8%, 6.4%, 9.3%, and 14.0% higher for the JNAS database for four different environments. In addition, the results show that the combination of the three approaches has better performance than the use of a single compensation method.

International efforts to avoid dangerous climate change have historically focused on reducing energy-related CO2emissions from countries with either the largest economies（*** EU and the USA）and/or the largest populations（*** and India）.However,in recent years,emissions have surged among a different and much less-examined group of countries,raising concerns that a next generation of high-emitting economies will obviate current mitigation ***,we analyse the trends and drivers of emissions in each of the 59 countries where emissions in 2010-2018 grew faster than the global average（excluding China and India）,project their emissions under a range of longer-term energy scenarios and estimate the costs of decarbonization *** emissions from these 'emerging emitters' reach as much as 7.5 GtCO2/year in the baseline 2.5° scenari—substantially greater than the emissions from these regions in previously published scenarios that would limit warming to 1.5℃ or even 2℃.Such unanticipated emissions would in turn require non-emitting energy deployment from all sectors within these emerging emitters,and faster and deeper reductions in emissions from other countries to meet international climate ***,the annual costs of keeping emissions at the low level are in many cases 0.2%-4.1% of countries' gross domestic production,pointing to potential trade-offs with poverty-reduction goals and/or the need for economic support and low-carbon technology transfer from historically high-emitting *** results thus highlight the critical importance of ramping up mitigation efforts in countries that to this point have been largely ignored.

Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is biggest preventable cause of early deaths, and hence one of the global preferences of World Health Organization for determent. PAH also induces the vast majority of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Both PAH and CKD are inherently connected, but the common molecular pathways and genes of these two disorders have not yet been demonstrated. In this study, we aimed to determine the similar molecular pathways and therapeutic hub proteins in PAH and CKD that may be used to anticipate the progression of the disease. We used Limma package to conduct differential analysis of gene transcripts of PAH and CKD obtained from the Gene Expression repository. The functional annotations of the genes were determined with the use of pathway analysis. Then proteinâprotein interaction (PPI) networks were constructed to determine the hub proteins, and a clustering technique was applied to determine the most significant PPI elements. We separately evaluated the PAH and CKD gene expression-based datasets and discovered 30 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) shared by both PAH and CKD. The pathways of KEGG revealed that the most prevalent DEGs are associated with the Malaria and African trypanosomiasis. Gene ontology (GO), TF and miRNA analysis and module investigation is treated the forthcoming work of this study. Finally, various drug compounds have been suggested based on the concordant DEGs. © 2023 IEEE.

Lung cancer (LC), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are the most fatal disorders in the globe, generating frequent human issues. Having IPF and COPD are the risk factors of the LC, but the molecular mechanisms that underlie among IPF, COPD, and LC are not yet elucidated. In this study, we looked for shared molecular indicators and pathways that might explain how individuals with IPF, COPD, and LC are related to one another. GSE24206, GSE76925 and GSE18842 microarray datasets are utilized for IPF, COPD and LC samples. The preprocessing of datasets has done using R language, and then concordant differentially expressed genes (DEGs) are discovered. After that the protein-protein interactions (PPIs) are built using the similar DEGs, and the hub genes are determined using topological analysis. ETS1, MSH2, SORD, RORA and NEDD9 are the PPI network's top 5 hub genes. The pathways of KEGG demonstrated that the concordant DEGs are related to the colorectal cancer and pathways in cancer. Future work for this project will focus on miRNA, TF, and gene ontology (GO) analyses, as well as module analysis networks. Finally, based on the concordant DEGs, a number of potential medications have been suggested. © 2023 IEEE.

Software systems often encounter various errors or exceptions in practice, and thus proper error handling code is essential to ensure the reliability of software systems. Unfortunately, error handling code is often bug-prone, while sufficiently testing them is challenging as such code often cannot be triggered under normal conditions. Motivated by this, recent studies have proposed to leverage software fault injection (SFI) based fuzzing to discover potential bugs in complicated error handling code. Despite the promising results achieved, their effectiveness and efficiency are still compromised in practice due to the huge search space of error sites, inadequate fuzzing guidance, and the overhead induced by context-sensitive SFI. To achieve effective and efficient testing of error handling code, this study presents AFL-FI, which first utilizes a similarity-based method to identify suspicious error sites, and then incorporates the idea of error site coverage to guide the fuzzing process. Finally, the design of lightweight context-sensitive SFI enables AFL-FI to execute test cases efficiently. We evaluate AFL-FI on eight large-scale open-source projects, and the results show that it can outperform existing state-of-the-art fuzzing tools significantly in terms of branch code coverage. More importantly, AFL-FI has discovered 13 previously unknown bugs, and all of them have been confirmed while 12 of them have been fixed. Besides, our evaluation also demonstrates that all the key designs of AFL-F I are effective that contribute significantly to its overall performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Accurate traffic flow forecasting is crucial for managing and planning urban transportation systems. Despite the widespread use of sequence modelling models like Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) for this purpose, the potential of Transformer models remains underexplored. This is particularly true for the simplest form of a single block encoder-decoder Transformer model, which can be finely tuned through optimised hyperparameters. This paper examines the performance of a singular horizon-step forecasting method for multi-step traffic flow forecasting using a proposed Single Block Encoder-Decoder Transformer model optimised with a Grid Search algorithm. Results demonstrate that this model can enhance forecasting accuracy compared to the state-of-the-art LSTM model typically used for multi-step forecasting. The model effectively captures long-range temporal dependencies within a single road traffic flow dataset. It was tested on hourly traffic flow data to forecast the next 24 hours for the I5-North freeway in California, sourced from the Caltrans Performance Measurement system. The optimal configuration included an embedding dimension of 32, a feed-forward dimension of 128, and 8 attention heads. Results show a significant improvement, with a 4.7% reduction in Root Mean Squared Error compared to an LSTM model with two hidden layers of 100 neurons each, showcasing the potential of Single Block Encoder-Decoder Transformer models for real-world traffic prediction applications. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rapid development of cloud computing, more and more data are stored in the cloud server. However, due to the increasing demands for security and user privacy, sensitive data are expected to be stored in an encrypted manner. Then how to perform keyword search over the encrypted data becomes a key issue. The technology of searchable encryption has been proposed to address this issue, which allows the data owners share their encrypted data with users without leaking the queried keyword privacy. In this paper, we study forward and backward private searchable encryption with fine-grained access control. Our system can resist against the file injection attacks from malicious cloud and support forward and backward data privacy. In addition, it enables the data owners to enforce "AND""NOT"attribute-based access control on the data. We analyze the security and simulate the system. The experiment results show that our system can be applicable in the real-world scenarios. © 2023 IEEE.
