This research paper aims to provide qualitative and quantitative insights regarding the application of drones and big data techniques in the SCM field through a new scientific method. The proposed method exploits the opportunities of drones for real-time data capturing and big data technologies to enrich decision making in supply chain. The study is pertinent to modern tendencies in supply chain systems and proves the efficiency of the new method through the precise calculations and contrastive analysis. The following are some of the findings that suggest efficiency, cost decrease, and outstanding performance of the supply chain. The studies being offered in this research will prove beneficial for practitioners and researchers who endeavor to advance the concepts and practice of logistics and supply chain management. © 2024 IEEE.

In general, public or private organizations or companies have used information-based technology as a support to improve business performance to be more effective and efficient in order to achieve a company's business goals. Given the large contribution of information technology in the application of hotel applications as a supporting information system, it is a vital system that must avoid risks that can hinder and cause harm to the hotel management business processes. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out risk management using the COBIT 5 framework to manage possible risks that may occur based on the APO12 (Manage Risk) domain. From the evaluation results of the data obtained through observation and interviews as well as the calculation of the results of the questionnaire based on 6 APO12 subdomains, the results of the risk management level capability assessment in hotel applications are still at level 3 or have reached the level of established process with the target to be achieved at level 4 resulting in a gap of 1 level. Based on the results obtained, it is necessary to propose recommendations that can be used by hotels in improving the application of information technology risk management so that in the future it can achieve the expected target level so that the APO12 level of capability can increase and become more optimal. © 2023 IEEE.

This study examines the rapid growth of startups integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into their business models, aiming to analyze and compare these startups with traditional IT organizations to understand their differences. Analyzing 162 global startups, this research identifies four unique archetypal business models, introducing novel methodologies in AI integration and data utilization that contrast with conventional IT paradigms. The focus is on technologies providing data analytics solutions, AI products and services, and the expansion of AI use. Key components of AI startup business models are highlighted: (1) advantages of AI in new value propositions, (2) data use to create value, and (3) the impact of AI on business decision-making. This research enhances the understanding of AI startup business models and suggests future research directions in entrepreneurship. The developed taxonomy highlights four distinct AI business models: the Deep Tech Researcher, Data Analytics Provider, AI Product/Service Provider, and AI Development Facilitator, each offering unique value propositions and leveraging AI technologies in different ways to address specific market needs. The research framework fosters entrepreneurial efforts with taxonomies and models as useful instruments. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper defines an approach applied for implementation of application specific beamforming modalities in finite aperture, space-constrained, optimized arrays. To achieve desired response in array factor, appropriate tapering schemes are selected while focusing on array Figures of Merits (FOMs). In this paper, space-constrained optimized arrays of sizes 1 × 32 (linear) and 8 × 8 (planar) are designed using Opti-metrics in High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS). The calculated weights and steering scheme are then applied to HFSS models and Matlab based calculations are validated for proof of concept. Array metrics like low SLL, limited beam-broadening, increased directivity and limited scan loss in planned Field of View (FOV) are targeted metrics. This paper also briefly elaborates comparison of various tapering techniques, while focusing on defined FOMs. The working procedure is developed which extends itself from excitation control of linear to planar dimensions. Keeping in view limited computational resources for full wave simulation, an approach using Pattern Multiplication (PM) is suggested to converge to desired results for large sized arrays. The scheme of this paper has also been used in a design of Hybrid beamforming network (BFN). © 2024 IEEE.

At present, colorectal cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers in the world. Colectomy serves as an effective treatment option for this disease. Preoperative localization plays a vital role in the colectomy procedure. However, traditional preoperative localization techniques have a greater risk of infection and lower accuracy. Moreover, it is difficult for the previous anchoring robots to adapt to the unstructured environment of the GI tract because of their limited movement abilities. To address these challenges, this work develops a robotic anchoring system with two locomotion modes which can anchor in the designated position. Driven by the external magnetic field, the robot can achieve slipping and flipping in the stomach. When the gradients of the field increase, the robot is triggered to deploy the anchoring mechanism in the intestine. Two in vitro experiments are conducted in the stomach and intestine phantoms. The first experiment demonstrates that the robot system can achieve both slipping and flipping in the stomach and its average position error is 2.96mm. The second experiment shows that the robot system can anchor in the designated position near the tumor and can resist a peristalsis force of 0.82N from the intestine wall. © 2024 IEEE.

Fluoroscopy in a low-dose tube output is used to reduce the damage associated with radiation exposure. However, lowering the radiation dose inevitably increases random noise in x-ray images, resulting in poor diagnostic image quality, which requires noise reduction for accurate diagnosis. Also, in the case of non-static objects, the image is blurred due to motion. The most-used denoiser with a recursive filter (RF) preserves details well when applied to temporal data, but it is vulnerable to motion blur. Existing convolutional neural network (CNN)-based algorithms with single-frame input cannot use the temporary context, and others with multi-frame input are good for motion detection but poor for detail preservation. Therefore, we propose a motion-level-aware denoising framework to combine the results of RF- and CNN-based algorithms depending on the pixel-wise magnitude of motion to complement each other. The data we use are fluoroscopy images taken in continuous time, and we aim at many-to-one so that one frame is denoised by considering sequential frames. Also, since both RF- and CNN-based algorithms used in our architecture are many-to-one methods, they can consider spatiotemporal information. In the multi-frame input, the difference in intensity of each pixel between frames is calculated to obtain a moving map. Depending on the factor value from the moving map, the final image is obtained by reflecting the outputs of the RF- and CNN-based algorithms. If the factor value is high, the pixel intensity of the final image is like the CNN-based output, which is good for motion detection, and vice versa, it more reflects the intensity of RF output, which is excellent in perceptual quality. Therefore, it prevents motion blur and does not over-smooth microdetails, such as bones and muscles. The results show that combining the two outputs together records higher peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and has better perceptual quality for diagnosis than using only one method. F

This research introduces the application of an innovative bio-inspired metaheuristic technique, termed the Crow Search Algorithm (CSA), to model a crucial industrial process - hot rolling manufacturing. Inspired by the foraging patterns of crows, the CSA algorithm has demonstrated its prowess in solving diverse optimization challenges. In the context of this study, the CSA algorithm is harnessed to fine-tune the parameters of a simulation model focused on predicting the force exerted during a hot rolling procedure. The proposed model takes into consideration a range of influential factors, including the initial temperature (Ti), width (Ws), carbon equivalent (Ce), gauge (hi), draft (i), and roll diameter (R). The findings underscore the CSA's capability to deliver an exceptional modeling performance characterized by swift convergence and high solution quality. By getting along very well with the proposed model with the CSA algorithm, a robust and efficient avenue to optimize the hot rolling process emerges, with the potential for expansion into other manufacturing domains. The computational and simulation results demonstrated that the proposed approach-based CSA outperformed different meta-heuristic search algorithms, such as the Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA), Dandelion Optimizer (DO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Gray Wolf Optimizer (GWO), and Moth-Flame Optimization (MFO), in all test cases. The CSA has achieved the highest coefficient of determination (R2), equal to 0.97244, and the lowest mean squared error (MSE), equal to 1904.97, compared to its opponent algorithms. © 2024 IEEE.

Despite the incredible adoption of cryptocurrencies, blockchain-based cryptocurrencies have likewise raised some concerns. The scalability problem is the major one among them. An off-blockchain payment channel network (PCN) has been introduced to solve this issue. PCN can fundamentally reduce blockchain scalability by constructing a number of payment channels between the nodes and without committing every single transaction to the blockchain. But as a matter of fact, there has an unwanted assumption in PCN that channel participants must remain online and follow blockchain updates, for the synchronization with blockchain to protect the channel against deception. To mitigate this issue 'Watchtower' concept has been proposed. Watchtower is a watching service and always stays online that a channel participant can hire it by offering incentives for monitoring the channel and checking blockchain updates consistently to prevent fraud on behalf of the hiring party. However, watchtower may be more beneficial by cooperating with the cheating counterparty and neglecting to perform the watching service properly. The efficiency drawback can occur for that. In this work, we have been motivated by this issue and tried to find out an effective and reliable watchtower for the channel watching service from multiple watchtower nodes or candidates in the PCN. In particular, we have been approached by using the distributed Peterson Leader-Election Algorithm to find the best watchtower among multiple of them where the more successfully performed work node or candidate will be selected for the channel monitoring job. We also have provided a detailed step-by-step process of the algorithm including experiments and illustrations for employing watchtower among multiple of them. © 2022 The authors and IOS Press. The proposed system for recognizing Myanmar sign language between individuals who are deaf. The aim of this study is to develop deep learning models for the purpose of accurately identifying dynamic hand gesture images depicting 14 classes of Myanmar words and numbers. The present system utilizes a new dataset comprising 7834 images for 14 classes obtained through Webcam. The objective of this study is to enhance the robustness of the new model. Next, we proceed to evaluate the proposed model by comparing them to those of existing convolutional neural network models. These models are generally recognized as effective deep-learning approaches for recognition tasks. The proposed model exhibits a performance level of 96% for both validation and testing accuracies. Furthermore, the experimental finding demonstrates that the model, convolutional layers, achieved an accuracy of 100% in recognizing Myanmar Sign Language (MSL). © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

This research examines cloud forensic challenges and solutions using quantitative methodologies. Major challenges in cloud forensics, including data dispersion, loss of control, multi-tenancy, and integrity/authenticity, were identified. The effectiveness of cloud forensic tools was evaluated, with Tool 2 identified as the most effective. Factors A and B were found to influence tool adoption. Emerging trends in cloud forensics, such as advancements in cloud technologies and new security threats, were explored.
