IoT gadgets include smart lights, ovens, and industrial data-collecting equipment. IDC expects 41.6 billion connected IoT devices to generate 79.4 ZB of data by 2025. Early IoT devices sent data to the cloud for analysis. When sending trillions of gigabytes to the cloud, the data pipeline clogs. Edge computing enables IoT devices to handle data locally instead of sending it to the cloud. Data is processed at the 'edge' of your local network, rather than transferred away. Technology's versatility makes it valuable in education. IoT edge computing has different requirements than non-IoT edge computing. IoT devices have limited data processing and storage capabilities, thus processing must occur off the device. The edge offers an environment to manage huge numbers of IoT devices and data. Many functions can be off-loaded to the edge, reducing device cost. In education, IoT edge computing architecture has gained importance due to real-time applications. In order to facilitate the analysis of educational system architecture, this paper seeks to provide an IoT Edge computing framework in the field of education. The framework will identify IoT-related issues and concerns. This study discusses IoT Edge computing in education, identifies limits, and makes recommendations. As well as the paper evaluates IoT Edge computing's performance in educational systems. © 2023 IEEE.

Resource management in edge computing has always been a hot research topic. In the scenario of multiple edge servers and multiple tasks, this paper proposes a task offloading model that optimizes the total cost by weighting energy consumption and latency to reduce energy consumption and latency. Based on the proposed task offloading model, an improved genetic algorithm is proposed to solve the optimal task offloading strategy. Simulation experiments have shown that applying improved genetic algorithms to task offloading models can accelerate convergence speed, find the optimal computing offloading strategy, and improve system performance. © 2023 IEEE.

This comprehensive investigation and evaluation of the subject matter of emotion recognition is presented, focusing on the broader implications for society at large. The study utilizes a thorough analysis of scholarly literature and practical observations to establish a theoretical framework that facilitates comprehension of the topic under investigation. The findings have considerable implications for future investigations and pragmatic applications. Emotion recognition holds immense importance in diverse domains such as human-computer interaction and healthcare. The analysis of techniques used for emotional recognition includes facial expression assessment, speech patterns analysis, physiological signal interpretation, music perception, and written expression evaluation. The study presents a comprehensive overview of research methodologies commonly used in emotion recognition, discussing datasets, feature extraction techniques, and classification algorithms. The analysis of challenges and limitations pertaining to emotion recognition systems, including privacy concerns, is also discussed. Performance evaluation is analyzed through various methods, including machine assessment and self-report. 1 Introduction Reliability is defined as the probability that a system or component will perform its required function for a specified period of time under specified operating conditions(Ebeling,2019).Traditional reliability theory assumes that both a system and its components have only two possible states in the operation stage,either perfectly functioning or completely ***,as engineered systems become more sophisticated,involving larger sizes,increased functionality,and greater intelligence,and with advancements in sensing technologies,it has been extensively observed that systems and components exhibit multiple distinct states as they deteriorate over *** failure behavior,damage severity,performance capacity,and operational efficiency of the system and components vary among these states(Lisnianski et al.,2018).It,therefore,necessitates the development of advanced reliability theories and methodologies that are capable of characterizing these systems and components with multi-state nature.

Network management and multimedia data mining techniques have a great interest in analyzing and improving the network traffic *** recent times,the most complex task in Software Defined Network(SDN)is security,which is based on a centralized,programmable ***,monitoring network traffic is significant for identifying and revealing intrusion abnormalities in the SDN ***,this paper provides an extensive analysis and investigation of the NSL-KDD dataset using five different clustering algorithms:K-means,Farthest First,Canopy,Density-based algorithm,and Exception-maximization(EM),using the Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis(WEKA)software to compare extensively between these five ***,this paper presents an SDN-based intrusion detection system using a deep learning(DL)model with the KDD(Knowledge Discovery in Databases)***,the utilized dataset is clustered into normal and four major attack categories via the clustering ***,a deep learning method is projected for building an efficient SDN-based intrusion detection *** results provide a comprehensive analysis and a flawless reasonable study of different kinds of attacks incorporated in the KDD ***,the outcomes reveal that the proposed deep learning method provides efficient intrusion detection performance compared to existing *** example,the proposed method achieves a detection accuracy of 94.21%for the examined dataset.

Industrial internet of things (IIoT) is the usage of internet of things(IoT) devices and applications for the purpose of sensing, processing andcommunicating real-time events in the industrial system to reduce the unnecessary operational cost and enhance manufacturing and other industrial-relatedprocesses to attain more profits. However, such IoT based smart industriesneed internet connectivity and interoperability which makes them susceptibleto numerous cyber-attacks due to the scarcity of computational resourcesof IoT devices and communication over insecure wireless channels. Therefore, this necessitates the design of an efficient security mechanism for IIoTenvironment. In this paper, we propose a hyperelliptic curve cryptography(HECC) based IIoT Certificateless Signcryption (IIoT-CS) scheme, with theaim of improving security while lowering computational and communicationoverhead in IIoT environment. HECC with 80-bit smaller key and parameterssizes offers similar security as elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) with 160-bitlong key and parameters sizes. We assessed the IIoT-CS scheme security byapplying formal and informal security evaluation techniques. We used Realor Random (RoR) model and the widely used automated validation of internet security protocols and applications (AVISPA) simulation tool for formalsecurity analysis and proved that the IIoT-CS scheme provides resistance tovarious attacks. Our proposed IIoT-CS scheme is relatively less expensivecompared to the current state-of-the-art in terms of computational cost andcommunication overhead. Furthermore, the IIoT-CS scheme is 31.25% and 51.31% more efficient in computational cost and communication overhead,respectively, compared to the most recent protocol.

Reinforcement learning(RL) has roots in dynamic programming and it is called adaptive/approximate dynamic programming(ADP) within the control community. This paper reviews recent developments in ADP along with RL and its applications to various advanced control fields. First, the background of the development of ADP is described, emphasizing the significance of regulation and tracking control problems. Some effective offline and online algorithms for ADP/adaptive critic control are displayed, where the main results towards discrete-time systems and continuous-time systems are surveyed, ***, the research progress on adaptive critic control based on the event-triggered framework and under uncertain environment is discussed, respectively, where event-based design, robust stabilization, and game design are reviewed. Moreover, the extensions of ADP for addressing control problems under complex environment attract enormous attention. The ADP architecture is revisited under the perspective of data-driven and RL frameworks,showing how they promote ADP formulation ***, several typical control applications with respect to RL and ADP are summarized, particularly in the fields of wastewater treatment processes and power systems, followed by some general prospects for future research. Overall, the comprehensive survey on ADP and RL for advanced control applications has d emonstrated its remarkable potential within the artificial intelligence era. In addition, it also plays a vital role in promoting environmental protection and industrial intelligence.

ANIMC: A Soft Approach for Autoweighted Noisy and Incomplete Multiview Clustering

Multiview clustering has wide real-world applications because it can process data from multiple sources. However, these data often contain missing instances and noises, which are ignored by most multiview clustering methods. Missing instances may make these methods difficult to use directly, and noises will lead to unreliable clustering results. In this article, we propose a novel autoweighted noisy and incomplete multiview clustering (ANIMC) approach via a soft autoweighted strategy and a doubly soft regular regression model. First, by designing adaptive semiregularized nonnegative matrix factorization, the soft autoweighted strategy assigns a proper weight to each view and adds a soft boundary to balance the influence of noises and incompleteness. Second, by proposing θ-norm, the doubly soft regularized regression model adjusts the sparsity of our model by choosing different θ. Compared with previous methods, ANIMC has three unique advantages: 1) it is a soft algorithm to adjust our approach in different scenarios, thereby improving its generalization ability;2) it automatically learns a proper weight for each view, thereby reducing the influence of noises;3) it performs doubly soft regularized regression that aligns the same instances in different views, thereby decreasing the impact of missing instances. Extensive experimental results show its superior advantages over other state-of-the-art works. © 2020 IEEE.
