This paper introduces dynamic view, a novel semantic Web application, for users to query, browse and visualize distribution and evolution of research interests in temporal, spatial and ontological dimensions. We present motivation and requirements for a system like dynamic view, and discuss its architecture. We outline main algorithms for term extraction from Web pages of researchers and ontology learning from digital libraries, and sketch visualizations we used in the interface.

Reconfigurable processors are those whose contexts are dynamically reconfigured while they are working. We focus on a reconfigurable processor called FE-GA (Flexible Engine/Generic ALU array) for digital media processing. Currently, FE-GA does not have its dedicated behavior synthesis tool. In this paper, we design FIR filters and propose an algorithm to map them onto it automatically. For given an order and coefficients of an FIR filter, the algorithm generates a dedicated assembly code which represents a given FIR filter for FE-GA. Then an editor called FEEditor reads the generated assembly code and implements its corresponding FIR filter on FE-GA. The proposed algorithm achieves automatic mapping of FIR filters of all orders within the range of the specification of FE-GA architecture. Furthermore, it is proved that a minimum cycle is achieved to execute FIR filtering if there is no thread switching.

This paper mainly discusses the pursuit-evasion games, in which a team of autonomous mobile robots act as pursuers to pursue multiple moving targets cooperatively. In order to reduce the communication load during the task negotiation process, the auction mechanism in Economics was introduced,and an improved task negotiation process based on Multi-Unit Combinatorial Auction was proposed. It allocated task dynamically through capability classification and independent competition. A kind of multi-robot cooperative pursuit algorithm that allows dynamic alliance is proposed. Simulation results show the feasibility and validity ofthe given algorithm.

In this paper, a set of radial basis function (RBF) neural networks, capable to learn the kinematic and dynamic behavior of the Romeo 4R autonomous vehicle, is presented. In order to obtain a set of good RBF nets in terms of the number of neurons and the number of lagged inputs, a multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA) has been used. The kinematic and dynamic systems of the mobile robot have been split into three subsystems: the steering module, the drive module and the heading module. Each subsystem is modeled with a neural network that learns its behaviour using, among others, a set of lagged outputs as inputs. The outputs from the steering and drive modules are also used as inputs in the heading module. Neural networks - based models are compared to classical approaches.

In this paper, we implemented machine vision system of inspecting nozzle to be used a part of SMD equipment. To inspect nozzle, the grey image is converted to binary image using bimodal technique. Its system first remove noise using morphological operation such as opening and closing, and then extract feature using template matching technique to identify type of nozzle. Finally, its system extract another feature to calculate the size of region of interest using projection technique. A projection is the sum of the run-lengths of 1s along a straight line oriented at angle, which is useful in shape analysis as well as image segmentation. We implemented its system and obtained satisfied results.

The standardization of elearning environments and the design of collaboration scripts are two research areas that are acquiring a greater attention within the computer supported collaborative learning (CSCL) community. We are interested in the suitability of the standard IMS-LD for modeling collaborative learning processes. We propose a reference model and the use of a graphical notation called CIAN as CSCL scripting language. Using these specifications of a high level of abstraction and mappable to a computer-interpretable notation such as IMS-LD, allows hiding the particularities of the standard to instructional designers.

Agency alters the subjective sense of time and sensitivity to sensory stimulus. We quantified the effect of agency in the processing of audiovisual integration in the brain by psychophysical methods. In the experiment, either the subjects or the experimenter pressed two buttons, which generated a visual and an auditory stimulus respectively. Participants judged the temporal order of the successive audiovisual stimuli in both conditions. The results show that the involvement of subject's agency increased the accuracy of judgments for the timing of the generated stimuli significantly. It is indicated that the subjective sense of time changes in a dynamical manner affected by the involvement of agency and sensori-motor contingency.

A unicast video-on-demand (VOD) system is good at interactivity but bad at scalability. Many multicast schemes have been proposed to solve the scalability problem in recent years. However, the weakness of these schemes are lack of interactivity. Furthermore, most multicast schemes rely on a large number of buffer and bandwidth to prefetch a large portion of video content in order to keep the video can be playing back smoothly. There is no doubt that this will be a great challenge to the ubiquitous VoD environment. In this paper, we propose a buffer interpolation algorithm and a hybird channel scheme to reduce the requirement of client buffer and decrease the user service latency time. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme not only keep the video playing smoothly under less buffer, but also present quite good performance in the aspect of VCR action.

The process of evaluating, classifying, and assigning bugs to programmers is a difficult and time consuming task which greatly depends on the quality of the bug report itself. It has been shown that the quality of reports originating from bug trackers or ticketing systems can vary significantly. In this research, we apply information retrieval (IR) and natural language processing (NLP) techniques for mining bug repositories. We focus particularly on measuring the quality of the free form descriptions submitted as part of bug reports used by open source bug trackers. Properties of natural language influencing the report quality are automatically identified and applied as part of a classification task. The results from the automated quality assessment are used to populate and enrich our existing software engineering ontology to support a further analysis of the quality and maturity of bug trackers.
