Deep learning is providing a wealth of new approaches to the old problem of novel view synthesis, from Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) based approaches to end-to-end style architectures. Each approach offers specific strengths but also comes with specific limitations in their applicability. This work introduces ViewFusion, a state-of-the-art end-to-end generative approach to novel view synthesis with unparalleled flexibility. ViewFusion consists in simultaneously applying a diffusion denoising step to any number of input views of a scene, then combining the noise gradients obtained for each view with an (inferred) pixel-weighting mask, ensuring that for each region of the target scene only the most informative input views are taken into account. Our approach resolves several limitations of previous approaches by (1) being trainable and generalizing across multiple scenes and object classes, (2) adaptively taking in a variable number of pose-free views at both train and test time, (3) generating plausible views even in severely undetermined conditions (thanks to its generative nature)—all while generating views of quality on par or even better than state-of-the-art methods. Limitations include not generating a 3D embedding of the scene, resulting in a relatively slow inference speed, and our method only being tested on the relatively small dataset NMR. Recently,outstanding identification rates in image classification tasks were achieved by convolutional neural networks(CNNs).to use such skills,selective CNNs trained on a dataset of well-known images of metal surface defects captured with an RGB *** must be detected early to take timely corrective action due to production *** image classification up till now,a model-based method has been utilized,which indicated the predicted reflection characteristics of surface defects in comparison to flaw-free *** problem of detecting steel surface defects has grown in importance as a result of the vast range of steel applications in end-product sectors such as automobiles,households,construction,*** processes for detections are time-consuming,labor-intensive,and *** strategies have been used to automate manual processes,but CNN models have proven to be the most effective rather than image processing andmachine learning *** using differentCNNmodels with fine-tuning,easily compare their performance and select the best-performing model for the same kinds of ***,it is important that using different CNN models either from fine tuning can be computationally expensive and ***,our study helps the upcoming researchers to choose the CNN without considering the issues of model complexity,performance,and computational *** this article,the performance of various CNN models like Visual Geometry Group,VGG16,VGG19,ResNet152,ResNet152V2,Xception,InceptionV3,InceptionResNetV2,NASNetLarge,MobileNetV2,and DenseNet201 with transfer learning techniques are *** models were chosen based on their popularity and impact in the field of computer vision research,as well as their performance on benchmark *** to the outcomes,DenseNet201 outperformed the other CNN models and had the greatest detection rate on the NEU dataset,falling in at 98.37 percent.

Dropout (DO) has negative implications for individuals and educational institutions. The field of education data mining (EDM) offers valuable contributions to prevent dropout cases and improve student retention. This study focuses on implementing EDM to identify students at risk of dropping out by integrating academic activity criteria with real-time data sources. Previous studies have encountered limitations in classification and clustering techniques, with classification relying on labeled training data (supervised learning) and clustering constrained by attribute or criteria weight (unsupervised learning). This study aims to address these limitations by combining the PROMETHEE II ranking approach and the CRITIC weighting method, producing a list of students with dropout potential. The results can aid stakeholders in implementing preventive measures. The study involves several steps: 1) Collecting data through integration with academic portals; 2) Filtering and selecting criteria for student academic activities; 3) Transforming and normalizing the data; 4) Applying automatic weighting using CRITIC; 5) Calculating criteria rankings using the PROMETHEE II technique; and 6) Validating the ranking outcomes.

Recent breakthroughs in computer vision have led to the invention of several intelligent systems in different sectors. In transportation, this advancement led to the possibility of proposing autonomous vehicles. This recent technology relies heavily on wireless sensors and Deep learning. For an autonomous vehicle to navigate safely on highways, the vehicle needs equipment to aid with detecting road anomalies such as potholes ahead of time. The massive improvement in computer vision models such as Deep Convolutional Neural networks (DCNN) or vision transformers (ViT) resulted in many success stories and tremendous breakthroughs in object detection tasks;this enabled the use of such models in different application areas. But many of the reported results are theoretical and unrealistic in real-life. Usually, the nature of these models is extensive;they are trained on High-performance computers or cloud computing environments with GPUs, which challenge their usage on edge devices. However, to come up with a light model that can fit into embedded devices, the model size has to be reduced significantly so that the performance will not be affected. Therefore, this paper proposes a lightweight model of pothole detection for an embedded device. The model achieved a state-of-the-art accuracy of 98%, with the number of parameters reduced to more than 70% compared with a deep CNN model;the model can be trained and deployed on embedded devices such as smartphones efficiently. © 2022 The authors and IOS Press. Precise object detection allows military personnel to clearly understand their surroundings, leading to planning effective military strategies. Particularly, satellites and drones allow real-time surveillance over large areas, which is crucial for military operations. Collaboration among military, academic, and industrial institutions is required to promote innovation in military target detection. However, potential security concerns usually restrict access to real data from the military. To mitigate this issue, this paper proposes a novel approach to generate synthetic data for remote sensing object detection on the bat-tlefield with ARMA3, one of the renowned military tactic games. With our method, the data for model training can be easily generated without any manpower. To demonstrate the efficacy of our approach, we provide a detailed analysis of the examples from our method. As ARMA3 is well-known for its realistic military combat simulation, we believe our method can effectively contribute to military object detection in remote sensing.

Isoforms refer to different mRNA molecules transcribed from the same gene, which can be translated into proteins with varying structures and functions. Predicting the functions of isoforms is an essential topic in bioinformatics as it can provide valuable insights into the intricate mechanisms of gene regulation and biological processes. Conventionally, gene function labels are standardized in Gene Ontology (GO) terms. However, traditional methods for predicting isoform function are largely limited by the absence of isoform-specific labels, sparse annotations, and the vast number of GO terms. To address these issues, we propose HANIso, a deep learning-based method for isoform function prediction. HANIso leverages a pretrained protein language model to extract features from protein sequences. It also integrates heterogeneous information, such as isoform sequence features, GO annotations, and isoform interaction data, using a Heterogeneous Graph Attention Network (HAN). This allows the model to learn the importance of different sources of information and their semantic relationships through the attention mechanism. Our method can predict function labels at both the gene level and isoform level. We conduct experiments on two species datasets, and the results demonstrate that our method outperforms existing methods on both AUROC and AUPRC. HANIso has the potential to overcome the limitations of traditional methods and provide a more accurate and comprehensive understanding of isoform function. © 2023 IEEE.
