The Metaverse is very challenging to implement solutions for eXtended Reality applications (XR apps), due to the combination of complex concerns that should be addressed: multiple users with non-traditional input and output devices, different hardware platforms that should be addressed, forceful interactive rates, and experimental interaction techniques, among other issues. Therefore, this work aims to present a Software Product Line (SPL)-based approach to support the development of Web XR apps. More specifically, we define a features model that represents similarities and variables (domain analysis);we defined a core composed of generic and reusable software artifacts (domain design);and we developed an interface to support the instantiation of a Web XR app family, named MetaSee Features Model Editor (domain implementation). This approach integrates with a component of the MetaSEE architecture (Metaverse for Software engineering Education). A preliminary assessment found that Features Model has conceptual consistency from the point of view of the complexity of Web XR Apps multimodal interaction. As future work, features model and artifacts will be increased with improvements and an evaluation with a significant number of participants will be performed. © 2022 IEEE.

The emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) has enabled the creation of new solutions to real-world problems, including digitalization and real-time monitoring. Plenty of research has been done in applying IoT schemes in various areas, such as Industry 4.0, smart cities or, as in the case of this paper, smart agriculture. One of the main problems in rural areas is the Internet coverage. In many cases, the infrastructure is very poor, and mountainous terrain further complicates the communication among devices. In this paper, we develop an IoT framework based on the Long Range (LoRa) wireless technology, specially designed to solve this issue (i.e., the lack of communication coverage). In particular, we have endowed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) with a LoRa gateway to improve the coverage of LoRa devices in mountainous regions. Our experiments show that not only the distance between sender and receiver but also both the height of the UAV and the Fresnel zone clearance are critical factors for communications performance in mountainous areas. © 2023 IEEE.

The usage of machine learning and deep learning algorithms have necessitated Artificial Intelligence'. AI is aimed at automating things by limiting human interference. It is widely used in IT, healthcare, finance, and agriculture. It is achieved through several deep learning algorithms that reflect the human brain's intelligence. These AI algorithms can be manipulated according to changing needs and improved efficiency. This paper tries to utilize the developments made in AI technology to classify the images and recognize the objects present in them. One widely used AI algorithm is CNN (Convolutional Neural Networks). The CNN is a deep learning-based algorithm that consists of various layers that extract and filters the parameters present in the images. Some additional layers of ResNet50 and the CNN algorithm are used to extract the parameters to improve image recognition accuracy. The image dataset taken for training and testing the proposed model is imageNet. The images are initially processed before sending them to the proposed model. The proposed model is trained, validated, and tested through the images obtained after the initial processing. The same process is repeated several times until getting the maximum accuracy. The accuracy of the proposed model in terms of image recognition is recorded. The obtained results are compared with other image classification algorithms like VGG16 and VGG19. The rise of video streaming for digital visual processing has been a boon for the industry of visual processing. Video streaming technology has made it easier for companies to capture, analyze, and interpret visual data faster than ever before. Video streaming technology can be used in a wide variety of applications, including facial recognition, 3D mapping, and object recognition. The standard language is assessed, and the feelings transmitted by the individual are brought up. The purpose of sentiment analysis is to determine the polarity of a person's textual opinion. Most of the people use social media to market ourselves and share all knowledge, thoughts, ideas, and experiences with the rest of the world. Sentiment analysis has been studied by several internet companies that offer materials based on human emotions expressed through social media. Many people use social media to post and share their thoughts and feelings. The sentiment analysis standard assorts a sentence with all forms of emotions, each of which has an intensity. This study includes a sentiment analysis of diverse perspectives on social topics that are trending on social media, along with a recommendation system. This method recommends related content to viewers based on their current statement or issue. The algorithm also suggests customized video sets to users based on their social media activity, such as diverse perspectives on a particular social problem about which they actively express their thoughts on social media. The proposed IoT-based Smart Curve Monitoring and Alert system is designed to improve road safety through the fusion of embedded systems, machine learning and edge computing technologies. The proposed system is primarily powered by ESP32 microcontroller, continuously gathers data from an array of sensors, including accelerometers, gyroscopes and a potentiometer to set the speed limit. This collected data is then subjected to analysis by a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model, which has been trained to recognize driving patterns, especially when navigating curves. Here, CNN classifies the vehicle's behavior as safe and risky, and if a risky behavior is identified, it triggers an alert and dispatches relevant data to a NodeMCU device. The NodeMCU plays a crucial role in the system by monitoring the communication tasks. It receives the alert from the ESP32, validates the vehicle's speed against the preset limit, and, if necessary, activates a GSM module to send an immediate notification to designated guardian. To ensure real-time monitoring and awareness, all pertinent information will be displayed on the LCD screen, including the vehicle's behavior classification, current speed, speed limit and alert status. By addressing reckless driving behaviors, particularly on curves, the system contributes significantly to safer roads and reinforces the importance of responsible driving practices. © 2024 IEEE.

Edge computing enables rapid data processing and decision-making on satellite payloads. Deploying deep learning-based techniques for low-light image enhancement improves early detection and tracking accuracy on satellite platforms, but it faces challenges due to limited computational resources. This article proposes an edge-computing-enabled inference model specifically designed onboard satellites. The proposed model follows an encoder-decoder architecture to generate the illumination map with low multiplication matrix complexity, 25.52 GMac of $1920 \times 1200$ image size. To reduce nanosatellite hardware consumption with a single-precision floating-point format, the edge-computing-enabled inference model proposes a quantized convolution that computes signed values. The proposed inference model is deployed on Arm Cortex-M3 microcontrollers onboard satellite payload (86.74 times faster than normal convolution model) but also has a similar quality with the low-light enhanced in full-precision computing of lightweight training model by using the peak signal-to-noise ratio (average of 28.94) and structural similarity index (average of 0.85) metrics. © 2008-2012 IEEE.

The Message Passing Interface (MPI) is a widely accepted standard for parallel computing on distributed ***, MPI implementations can contain defects that impact the reliability and performance of parallelapplications. Detecting and correcting these defects is crucial, yet there is a lack of published models specificallydesigned for correctingMPI defects. To address this, we propose a model for detecting and correcting MPI defects(DC_MPI), which aims to detect and correct defects in various types of MPI communication, including blockingpoint-to-point (BPTP), nonblocking point-to-point (NBPTP), and collective communication (CC). The defectsaddressed by the DC_MPI model include illegal MPI calls, deadlocks (DL), race conditions (RC), and messagemismatches (MM). To assess the effectiveness of the DC_MPI model, we performed experiments on a datasetconsisting of 40 MPI codes. The results indicate that the model achieved a detection rate of 37 out of 40 codes,resulting in an overall detection accuracy of 92.5%. Additionally, the execution duration of the DC_MPI modelranged from 0.81 to 1.36 s. These findings show that the DC_MPI model is useful in detecting and correctingdefects in MPI implementations, thereby enhancing the reliability and performance of parallel applications. TheDC_MPImodel fills an important research gap and provides a valuable tool for improving the quality ofMPI-basedparallel computing systems.

Soil salinity is a serious land degradation issue in *** is a major threat to agriculture *** irrigation water is applied to leach down the salts from the root zone of the plants in the form of a Leaching fraction(LF)of irrigation *** the leaching process to be effective,the LF of irriga-tion water needs to be adjusted according to the environmental conditions and soil salinity level in the form of Evapotranspiration(ET)*** relationship between environmental conditions and ET rate is hard to be deﬁned by a linear relationship and data-driven Machine learning(ML)based decisions are required to determine the calibrated Evapotranspiration(ETc)***-assisted ETc is pro-posed to adjust the LF according to the ETc and soil salinity level.A regression model is proposed to determine the ETc rate according to the prevailing tempera-ture,humidity,and sunshine,which would be used to determine the smart LF according to the ETc and soil salinity *** proposed model is trained and tested against the Blaney Criddle method of Reference evapotranspiration(ETo)*** validation of the model from the test dataset reveals the accu-racy of the ML model in terms of Root mean squared errors(RMSE)are 0.41,Mean absolute errors(MAE)are 0.34,and Mean squared errors(MSE)are 0.28 mm *** applications of the proposed solution in a real-time environ-ment show that the LF by the proposed solution is more effective in reducing the soil salinity as compared to the traditional process of leaching.
