This article outlines the development of a compact MIMO antenna with two ports crafted for millimeter-wave band operations, specifically tailored to support fifth-generation (5G) wireless applications. The suggested antenna is constructed on a Rogers RT/duroid 5880 substrate, measuring ${12} \times {6}\times {0.508} \text{mm}{3}$ . The proposed antenna has a slotted ground on the bottom and two Fractal-shaped radiating elements inspired by the Cantor Set pattern, positioned atop the dielectric material. The suggested antenna covers the millimeter-wave spectrum utilized in 5G, showcasing a wide bandwidth extending from 26.6 GHz to 29.08 GHz and 38.5 to 39.2 GHz. The antenna attains a maximum gain of 7.64 dBi, robust isolation exceeding 26 dB and demonstrates exceptional diversity performance, with an envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) below 0.003 and a diversity gain (DG) surpassing 10 dB. The obtained results Confirm the validity of the designed MIMO antenna's robustness and make it a viable option for 5G wireless equipment.

Prior to the introduction of Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), modelling and analyzing irregular data, particularly graphs, was thought to be the Achilles’ heel of deep learning. The core concept of GNNs is to find a representation by recursively aggregating the representations of a central node and those of its neighbor, and many GNNs’ designs have demonstrated its success. However, most only focus on using the first-order information between a node and its neighbors. In this paper, we introduce a central node permutation variant function through a frustratingly simple and innocent-looking modification to the core operation of a GNN, namely the Feature cOrrelation aGgregation (FOG) module, which learns the second-order information from feature correlation between a node and its neighbors in the pipeline. By adding FOG into existing variants of GNNs, we empirically verify this second-order information complements the features generated by original GNNs across a broad set of benchmarks. A tangible boost in the model’s performance is observed where the model surpasses previous state-of-the-art results by a significant margin while employing fewer parameters. e.g., 26.202% improvement on a real-world molecular dataset using graph convolutional networks.

This paper deals with an intelligent decision-making strategy of energy management for a smart grid within an element storage in order to reduce the system cost and improve its reliability. Indeed, the integration of distributed energy storage devices allows the customers to store energy and reuse at a later time or delayed some appliances operation according to a time-varying price signal. The adopted strategy is based on an artificial intelligence control algorithm 'fuzzy logic'. The main objective is to determine the appropriate source (grid or battery) used for meeting the consumer. The decision solution shows the system reliability where the switches are synchronized. Switches draw electricity from the grid for both load and battery when price is low and in contrary when electricity price is high, we find a variation's price correspondance with the switch drawing electricity from the battery. The obtained results are verified carrying out Matlab simulation using real data such as the electricity price (Price (t)) and the battery state of charge (SOC (t)). © 2023 IEEE.

SETTP: Style Extraction and Tunable Inference via Dual-level Transferable Prompt Learning

Text style transfer, an important research direction in natural language processing, aims to adapt the text to various preferences but often faces challenges with limited resources. In this work, we introduce a novel method termed Style Extraction and Tunable Inference via Dual-level Transferable Prompt Learning (SETTP) for effective style transfer in low-resource scenarios. First, SETTP learns source style-level prompts containing fundamental style characteristics from high-resource style transfer. During training, the source style-level prompts are transferred through an attention module to derive a target style-level prompt for beneficial knowledge provision in low-resource style transfer. Additionally, we propose instance-level prompts obtained by clustering the target resources based on the semantic content to reduce semantic bias. We also propose an automated evaluation approach of style similarity based on alignment with human evaluations using ChatGPT-4. Our experiments across three resourceful styles show that SETTP requires only 1/20th of the data volume to achieve performance comparable to state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods. In tasks involving scarce data like writing style and role style, SETTP outperforms previous methods by 16.24%. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Autonomous vehicles (AVs) have the potential to revolutionize transportation, but their effective integration into the real world requires addressing the challenge of interacting with human drivers. Real-world driving involves negotiating and cooperating with fellow drivers through social cues, necessitating AVs to also demonstrate such social compatibilities. However, despite the popularity, current learning-based control methods for AV policy synthesis often overlook this crucial aspect. In this work, we look at the problem of enabling socially compatible driving when AV control policies are learned. We leverage human driving data to learn a social preference model of human driving and then integrate it with reinforcement learning-based AV policy synthesis using Social Value Orientation theory. In particular, we propose to use multi-task reinforcement learning to learn diverse social compatibility levels in driving (ex: altruistic, prosocial, individualistic, and competitive), focusing on the requirement of having diverse behaviors in real-world driving. Using highway driving scenarios, we demonstrate through experiments that socially compatible AV driving not only enables naturalistic driving behaviors but also reduces collision rates from the baseline. Our findings reveal that without social compatibility, AV policies tend to adopt dangerously competitive driving behaviors, while the incorporation of social compatibility fosters smoother vehicle maneuvers.

We define the reduced biquaternion tensor ring (RBTR) decomposition and provide a detailed exposition of the corresponding algorithm RBTR-SVD. Leveraging RBTR decomposition, we propose a novel low-rank tensor completion algorithm RBTR-TV integrating RBTR ranks with total variation (TV) regularization to optimize the process. The metaverse is defined as a three-dimensional virtual-real fusion network focused on social connection. Edge computing can empower the metaverse by providing computing resources to realize real-time motion tracking, visual or auditory rendering and virtual scene dynamic change at the edge of networks. Users enjoy the immersive experience provided by the Metaverse Service Provider (MSP), and interact through digital avatars in the virtual world by requesting metaverse services. In this paper, we formulate the edge computing resources pricing, metaverse service rendering bitrate pricing and request problem in the metaverse. Especially, we model the interactions among edge servers, the MSP and Metaverse Service Users (MSUs) as a hierarchical three-stage Stackelberg game. The problem of joining edge-enabled metaverse services is also studied with the consideration of network externality, including the network effect and congestion effect. Based on the backward induction method, we derive the optimal computing resources pricing of edge servers, rendering bitrate pricing of the MSP, and rendering bitrate requests of MSUs. We also prove the existence and uniqueness of the Stackelberg game equilibrium. Simulation results show that the network effect can bring more positive utilities to entities when the social tie coefficient among MSUs is higher. Besides, all entities in the edge-enabled metaverse are affected negatively by the congestion effect. © 2023 IEEE.

Large-scale reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) have emerged as a promising technology for signal strength enhancement and coverage extension in 6G networks. However, as the antenna scale and the bandwidth increase, large-scale RIS-assisted wideband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communication systems face new challenges due to the near-field range expansion and the beam split effect, complicating the acquisition of channel state information (CSI). To tackle these challenges, in this paper, we present a wideband beam training scheme by utilizing the beam split effect to bypass the CSI acquisition. Specifically, by analyzing the beam split effect in RIS-assisted OFDM communication systems, we propose a beam-split-aware codebook capable of covering both the near and far fields. The coverage of codewords in the proposed codebook is expanded benefiting from the beam split effect, leading to fewer codewords compared to conventional narrow-band codebooks. Utilizing such a codebook, a three-stage beam training mechanism is performed to obtain the optimal codeword with low time overhead, thereby facilitating the beamforming. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme outperforms existing codebook-based beam training schemes in terms of training overhead and sum rate in the hybrid near-far field.

Code comment generation aims at generating natural language descriptions for a code snippet to facilitate developers' program comprehension activities. Despite being studied for a long time, a bottleneck for existing approaches is that given a code snippet, they can only generate one comment while developers usually need to know information from diverse perspectives such as what is the functionality of this code snippet and how to use it. To tackle this limitation, this study empirically investigates the feasibility of utilizing large language models (LLMs) to generate comments that can fulfill developers' diverse intents. Our intuition is based on the facts that (1) the code and its pairwise comment are used during the pre-training process of LLMs to build the semantic connection between the natural language and programming language, and (2) comments in the real-world projects, which are collected for the pre-training, usually contain different developers' intents. We thus postulate that the LLMs can already understand the code from different perspectives after the pre-training. Indeed, experiments on two large-scale datasets demonstrate the rationale of our insights: by adopting the in-context learning paradigm and giving adequate prompts to the LLM (e.g., providing it with ten or more examples), the LLM can significantly outperform a state-of-the-art supervised learning approach on generating comments with multiple intents. Results also show that customized strategies for constructing the prompts and post-processing strategies for reranking the results can both boost the LLM's performances, which shed light on future research directions for using LLMs to achieve comment generation.

Temperature is a common and significant physical quantity,particularly under harsh conditions such as a high voltage or strong electric/magnetic *** this study,we developed an all-fiber-optic temperature sensor based on a fiber-end microstructure doped with quantum dots(QDs).The microstructure was fabricated on a fiber tip using twophoton polymerization *** results show that the fluorescence intensity of the QD microstructure is reduced with an increase in temperature,and the peak position of photoluminescence exhibits a linear change in the temperature range of 26-70℃.The developed sensor exhibits a high-temperature sensitivity of 135 pm/℃.The proposed method has enormous potential for the development of fiber-end temperature sensors.
