In the rapidly advancing field of intelligent transportation systems, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) with edge computing presents a promising way to enhance the safety and efficiency of the Internet of Vehicles (IoV). This study explores and presents a deep learning based object detection model within an edge computing framework which aims to facilitate real time object detection in self driving cars. Using an urban traffic scenarios based dataset, our research shows the ability of the model to accurately detect and classify various objects important for autonomous driving. The YOLOv8 model is used in this work due to its optimal balance between accuracy and computational efficiency. This model has also demonstrated its worth by achieving good performance results, including an average precision of 0.79, a recall of 0.62, and an F1-score of 0.69. The results are demonstrated by a detailed confusion matrix, highlighting the model's effectiveness in complex driving environments and underscoring its reliability for in-vehicle deployment. By implementing AI directly on edge devices within vehicles, our approach might be helpful in significantly reducing latency, boosting decision-making speed, and enhancing data privacy by minimising dependence on cloud processing. The findings not only support the model's capabilities but also illustrate the practical benefits of edge intelligence in autonomous vehicles. These benefits, such as faster decision-making and improved data privacy, contribute effectively to the IoV infrastructure. This study marks a substantial step towards recognising the possibility of AI-enhanced edge computing in driving the next generation of autonomous vehicle technology. © 2025 IEEE.

Mobile prices play a pivotal role in determining their popularity amongst consumers and their competitive standing within the market. As customers consider their budget while evaluating a mobile phone's specifications and design, estimating the price beforehand becomes essential to cater to their needs and expectations. Hence, accurately forecasting mobile phone prices is a vital step in the product launch process to remain competitive and assess the market dynamics and competitors. The primary aim of this research is to determine the true market value of mobile phones. In this research, the dataset was extracted by means of utilizing a web scraping process from the flipkart website. The main objective of this research is to fetch the most recent dataset based on the most recent features. The extracted dataset is fitted into regression models such as linear regression, decision tree regressor, random forest regressor, KNN regressor, and gradient boosting regressor and performs the comparative analysis. The models are evaluated based on the mean absolute error metric. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper is concerned with a set of independent jobs in a permutation flow shop that have setup times on a set of machines. The M-IAIS algorithm, which is based on immunoglobulins and has been modified, is designed to reduce the makespan. A unique procedure known as B cell repertoire updating, which comprises size C of jobs that are taken out of the sequence and reinserted into all possible positions of the remaining sequences of jobs, has an impact on the M-IAIS algorithm's performance. To increase the convergence velocity, three iterations of the algorithm are suggested. Thorough testing was done, and the three versions' performances on a set (benchmark) are compared. Problem instances are described in Sistemas de Optimizacion Aplicada (http://***/problem-instances) In the paper, percentage deviation is considered to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithms. Furthermore, the ensuing outcomes demonstrate its suitability for addressing for the Permutation Flow Shop Scheduling Problem with Sequence Dependent Setup Times. © 2024 IEEE.

Person image generation is to synthesize realistic pedestrian images that follow the same distribution as the given dataset. Previous attempts can be generally categorized into two classes: some methods use human pose information as guidance and others try to generate person images from scratch. The former is to transfer the pose of a source image to a reference pose. The generated person image have the same identity as the source image. The latter takes a random noise from latent space as input, and the real person images are only used as references for the discriminator. While pose-guided person image generation is widely studied, generating-from-scratch methods are also worth exploring because they can synthesize person image with new identity, which is a useful manner of data augmentation. These two types of generating methods have their different advantages and disadvantages, and sometimes they are complementary. In this work, the authors design a Generative Cooperative Network (GCN) to jointly train two types of GANs. The two GANs serve different purposes, and can learn from each other during the cooperative learning procedure. The proposed approach is verified on public datasets, and the results show that our GCN improves the performance of the baseline methods. Comparisons with state-of-the-art methods also prove the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2022 IEEE.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, traditional teaching has been migrated online. Different from traditional face-to-face teaching, when students learn online, the online learning platform will generate various data. And these data make it possible for us to analyze students' final academic performance. In this paper, we use structural equation modeling (SEM) to analyze the relationship between students' learning factors. It is found that students' lab scores (LS), exercise scores (LS) and participation in the discussion (PID) have a direct impact on their final programming scores (FPS). This paper also finds that students' assignment submissions have an indirect influence on their final programming scores (FPS) but have a direct effect on lab scores (LS). In addition, students' participation in the discussion (PID) has an indirect influence on assignment submissions (AS) and lab scores (LS). The research in this paper can provide instructional designers with references for instructional design. © 2022 IEEE.

Accurate Traffic Flow Prediction (TFP) is crucial for enhancing the efficiency and safety of transportation systems, so it has attracted intensive researches by exploiting spatial-temporal dependencies within road networks. However, existing works only consider the case of centralized data collection with all traffic data observed, which may raise privacy concerns as each region of a city may have its own traffic administration department and the traffic data is not allowed to distribute. Therefore, this paper proposes to use Federated Learning (FL) to address this issue by allowing all clients (i.e., traffic administration departments in all regions in our problem) to collaboratively train TFP models without exchanging raw data, thereby offering a solution in maintaining data privacy. Nevertheless, most existing FL methods aim to learn a global model that performs well universally, so they cannot well handle the non-Independent and Identically Distributed (non-IID) traffic data naturally over different regions. To cope with this problem, this paper develops a new FL framework termed 'personalized Federated learning with Traffic Pattern Sharing' (FedTPS) to solve federated TFP problem. Our FedTPS critically exploits the underlying common traffic patterns (e.g., morning and evening rush hours) shared across different city regions and meanwhile maintaining the region-specific data characteristics in a personalized FL manner. Specifically, to extract the common traffic patterns, we decompose the traffic data in each client via using discrete wavelet transform, where the low-frequency components uncover the stable traffic dynamics of different regions and thus can be considered as the common traffic patterns. These common patterns are then shared among different clients through traffic pattern repositories on the server side to aid the global collaborative traffic flow modeling. Face anti-spoofing (FAS) is pivotal in safeguarding the integrity of face recognition systems. Flexible-modal FAS utilizes multi-modal data and trains a unified model adaptable to any single-modal testing scenario. This innovation addresses the shortcomings of conventional multi-modal FAS approaches, which typically demand separate model training and deployment for each modality. However, existing flexible-modal FAS approaches activate specific network branches based on the modality of the tested sample. This not only increases the model's parameters but also necessitates the provision of the image's modality for testing, thereby constraining deployment flexibility. To address the issue, we present Compound Prompt Learning CLIP (CPL-CLIP), a novel method for flexible-modal FAS. This approach capitalizes on a learned textual prompt that is nearly independent of modality, thus bolstering class-based classification across arbitrary modalities. Specifically, our CPL-CLIP introduces a Dual-Branch Prompt (DBP), consisting of class and modal prompts that describe and guide classification, where each prompt is composed of learnable vectors and fixed templates. To further render the class prompt as modality-agnostic as possible, a Cosine Similarity Loss (CSL) is proposed to facilitate the maximal separation of the class prompt from the modality prompt. With only the class prompt utilized during testing, CPL-CLIP enables deployment in diverse modal testing scenarios without the necessity of the test image's modality to be known. Extensive experiments demonstrate CPL-CLIP's superiority over existing methods on several flexible-modal FAS benchmarks. © 2024 IEEE.
