High-resolution multispectral (HRMS) images combine spatial and spectral information originating from panchromatic (PAN) and reduced-resolution multispectral (LRMS) images. Pansharpening performs well and is widely used to obtain HRMS images. However, most pansharpening approaches determine the ratio of PAN and LRMS images through direct interpolation, which may introduce artifacts and distort the color of the fused results. To address this issue, an unsupervised progressive pansharpening framework, MSBANet, is proposed, which adopts a multistage fusion strategy. Each stage contains an attention interactive extraction module (AIEM) and a multiscale bilateral fusion module (MBFM). The AIEM extracts spatial and spectral features from input images and captures the correlations between features. The MBFM can efficiently integrate information from the AIEM and improve MSBANet context awareness. We design a hybrid loss function that enhances the ability of the fusion network to store spectral and texture details. In qualitative and quantitative experimental studies on four datasets, MSBANet outperformed state-of-the-art pansharpening techniques. The code will be released. © 2024 IEEE.

Getting dense, uniform, time-series point cloud data is critical for effective rendering. However, due to the limited computational power of edge devices, existing methods cannot achieve real-time results, which affects the visual quality of the consumer experience. To effectively address this issue, this paper presents a self-supervised adversarial upsampling method for point cloud video streams called SPR-GAN. In the generator, we design the Temporal Iterative Graph module to learn local features for each frame and captures long-range spatial information using three iterations of graph convolution operations. Then the Contextual Temporal Fusion module is developed to merge information between different frames, synthesizing temporal information and enriching the dynamic feature representation of the point cloud. Meanwhile, in the discriminator, we introduce the Efficient Shape module. Through dynamic graph convolution operations and stacked learning, it significantly improves the resolution efficiency of global shape information in point clouds. The final experiments show that the proposed method exhibits high practicality and superiority. The model achieves a good result on both the D-FAUST and DeformingThing4D-Animals datasets. © 2025 IEEE.

Protecting the copyright of multimedia content is required to discourage illegal distribution, broadcasting and sharing audiovisual content over the spider web. In this paper a hybrid algorithm is propose which combines the benefits of both fingerprinting and watermarking technologies with the objective to authenticate audio-visual Content copyright in spite of transcoding occurrences including compression and geometrics attacks during sharing and distribution on social media;precisely YouTube, Facebook. In the proposed approach a method to enhance security process of the mentioned social media against the most common attacks is proposed, such as geometric distortion embracing cropping resizing rotation. Moreover, the Proposed algorithm contributes to the limitation of H.264 compression attacks flows. In this paper, the host video is operated following the next steps;first, scene change detection is practiced in order to ensure a preeminent computational complexity. Then a hybrid frequency double transform incorporating Discrete Wavelet and Discreet Cosines is processed alternatively to the selected frames in the aim to perform a peak-signal-to- noise-ratio values with a higher compression ratio. Afterwards video fingerprinting is executed heading for tracing the behavior of the video after being published. Experiment results shows new scores of high robustness and versatility in performance for transcoding and sharing multimedia content legally under YouTube. © 2021 IEEE.

Multilingual Lexical Simplification via Zero-Shot Paraphrasing

Lexical simplification (LS) method based on pretrained language models is a straightforward yet powerful approach for generating potential substitutes for a complex word through analysis of its contextual surroundings. Nonetheless, these methods necessitate distinct pretrained models tailored to diverse languages, often overlooking the imperative task of preserving a sentence’s meaning. In this paper, we propose a novel multilingual LS method via zero-shot paraphrasing (LSPG), as paraphrases provide diversity in word selection while preserving the sentence’s meaning. We regard paraphrasing as a zero-shot translation task within multilingual neural machine translation that supports hundreds of languages. Once the input sentence is channeled into the paraphrasing, we embark on the generation of the substitutes. This endeavor is underpinned by a pioneering decoding strategy that concentrates exclusively on the lexical modifications of the complex word. To utilize the strong capabilities of large language models (LLM), we further introduce a novel approach PromLS that incorporates the results of LSPG to generate heuristic-enhanced context, enabling the LLM to generate diverse candidate substitutions. Experimental results demonstrate that LSPG surpasses BERT-based methods and zero-shot GPT3-based methods significantly in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. We also demonstrate a substantial improvement achieved by PromLS compared to the previous state-of-the-art LLM approach. LS approaches usually assume that complex words and their replacements are individual terms, concentrating on word-for-word substitutions. To tackle the more challenging task of multi-word lexical simplification, including phrase-to-phrase replacements, we extend LSPG and PromLS into MultiLSPG and MultiPromLS. MultiLSPG identifies multi-word expressions matched with their corresponding word counts in specific positions, while MultiPromLS, akin to PromLS, utilizes these candidates to generate a heuristi

Background: In this Innovative Practice Work in Progress, we present our initial efforts to integrate formal methods, with a focus on model-checking specifications written in Temporal Logic of Actions $(\text{TLA}^{+})$ , into computer science education, targeting undergraduate juniors/seniors and graduate students. Many safety-critical systems and services crucially depend on correct and reliable behavior. Formal methods can play a key role in ensuring correct and safe system behavior, yet remain underutilized in educational and industry contexts. Aims: We aim to (1) qualitatively assess the state of formal methods in computer science programs, (2) construct level-appropriate examples that could be included midway into one's undergraduate studies, (3) demonstrate how to address successive “failuresy” through progressively stringent safety and liveness requirements, and (4) establish an ongoing framework for assessing interest and relevance among students. Methods: We detail our pedagogical strategy for embedding $\text { TLA }^{+}$ into an intermediate course on formal methods at our institution. After starting with a refresher on mathematical logic, students specify the rules of simple puzzles in $\text { TLA }^{+}$ and use its included model checker (known as TLC) to find a solution. We gradually escalate to more complex, dynamic, event-driven systems, such as the control logic of a microwave oven, where students will study safety and liveness requirements. We subsequently discuss explicit concurrency, along with thread safety and deadlock avoidance, by modeling bounded counters and buffers. Results: Our initial findings suggest that through careful curricular design and choice of examples and tools, it is possible to inspire and cultivate a new generation of software engineers proficient in formal methods. Performance Analysis of Distributed Filtering under Mismatched Noise Covariances

This paper systematically investigates the performance of consensus-based distributed filtering under mismatched noise covariances. First, we introduce three performance evaluation indices for such filtering problems, namely the standard performance evaluation index, the nominal performance evaluation index, and the estimation error covariance. We derive difference expressions among these indices and establish one-step relations among them under various mismatched noise covariance scenarios. We particularly reveal the effect of the consensus fusion on these relations. Furthermore, the recursive relations are introduced by extending the results of the one-step relations. Subsequently, we demonstrate the convergence of these indices under the collective observability condition, and show this convergence condition of the nominal performance evaluation index can guarantee the convergence of the estimation error covariance. Additionally, we prove that the estimation error covariance of the consensus-based distributed filter under mismatched noise covariances can be bounded by the Frobenius norms of the noise covariance deviations and the trace of the nominal performance evaluation index. Edge enabled Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform is of great significance to accelerate the development of smart industry. However, with the dramatic increase in real-time IIoT applications, it is a great challenge to support fast response time, low latency, and efficient bandwidth utilization. To address this issue, time sensitive network (TSN) is recently researched to realize low latency communication via deterministic scheduling. To the best of our knowledge, the combinability of multiple flows, which can significantly affect the scheduling performance, has never been systematically analyzed before. In this article, we first analyze the combinability problem. Then, a noncollision theory based deterministic scheduling (NDS) method is proposed to achieve ultralow latency communication for the time-sensitive flows. Moreover, to improve bandwidth utilization, a dynamic queue scheduling (DQS) method is presented for the best-effort flows. Experiment results demonstrate that NDS/DQS can well support deterministic ultralow latency services and guarantee efficient bandwidth utilization. © 2005-2012 IEEE.

Color conversion media (CCM) are crucial for realizing cost-effective, high-resolution micro-LED and OLED displays. In this work, we developed green and red organic-perovskite bilayer CCM that combine the PLQY and color purity of perovskite quantum dots (PeQDs) and the strong blue absorption of perylene-based organic emitters. The bilayer with thickness of 300 nm showed over 99% blue absorption and PLQY of 77% and 61% for green and red CCM, respectively. © 2024 John Wiley and Sons Inc. All rights reserved.

With serverless computing offering more efficient and cost-effective application deployment, the diversity of serverless platforms presents challenges to users, including platform lock-in and costly migration. Moreover, due to the black box nature of function computing, traditional performance benchmarking methods are not applicable, necessitating new studies. This article presents a detailed comparison of six major public cloud function computing platforms and introduces a benchmarking framework for function computing performance. This framework aims to help users make comprehensive comparisons and select the most suitable platform for their specific needs. © 2023 IEEE.
