Today, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR) technologies are becoming fundamental across a wide variety of application domains. All these technologies fall under the Extended Reality (XR) spectrum. Areas in which XR technologies and, in particular, immersive experiences have been successfully introduced are expanding daily, from traditional areas, such as entertainment and video game production, to novel scenarios, such as industry, healthcare, smart cities, and autonomous vehicles, to mention a few. The spread of XR and VR is also driven by technological advancements that are making new ways of operating within virtual experiences easier, and sometimes even possible. In particular, the availability of new hardware and software tools make the use of '3D reconstructions', 'digital twins' and 'simulations' commonplace in many XR and VR applications. For example, the possibility to leverage networks with higher bandwidth than never before and lower latency makes it possible to transmit the amount of data needed for massive, real-time digital twins, whereas high-performance hardware enables the reconstruction of high-fidelity digital objects and environments, while lowering the time needed for high-demanding simulations. The aim of the 3D Reconstruction, Digital Twinning, and Simulation for Virtual Experiences (ReDigiTS) workshop is to bring together researchers, practitioners, educators, and students to share ideas and promote further work in this growing area of 3D reconstruction, digital twinning, and simulation in VR and related technologies. © 2023 IEEE.

In this proceeding, we present polarization data of sidebands emitted from strongly driven quasiparticles, demonstrate the dependence of these data on various parameters of the external driving field, and describe the data using an analytical expression, dependent on driving field parameters and the effective Hamiltonian of the system. We propose using this method on spin-momentum locked systems, such as altermagnets, to observe and reconstruct sidebands which are influenced by the topology of individual bands. © Optica Publishing Group 2024, © 2024 The Author(s)

Maximum likelihood estimation is an essential tool in the procedure to impute missing data in climate/weather applications. By defining a particular statistical model, the maximum likelihood estimation can be used to understand the underlying structure of given geospatial data. The Gaussian random field has been widely used to describe geospatial data, as one of the most popular models under the hood of maximum likelihood estimation. Computation of Gaussian log-likelihood demands operations on a dense symmetric positive definite matrix, often parameterized by the Matérn correlation function. This computation of the log-likelihood requires $\mathcal{O}(n^{2})$ storage and $\mathcal{O}(n^{3})$ operations, which can be a huge task considering that the number of geographical locations, $n$ , now commonly reaches into the millions. However, despite its appealing theoretical properties, the assumptions of Gaussianity may be unrealistic since real data often show signs of skewness or have some extreme values. Herein, we consider the Tukey ${g-}$ and $-h$ (TGH) random field as an example of a non-Gaussian random field that shows more robustness in modeling geospatial data by including two more parameters to incorporate skewness and heavy tail features in the model. This work provides the first HPC implementation of the TGH random field's inference on parallel hardware architectures. Using task-based programming models associated with dynamic runtime systems, our implementation leverages the high concurrency of current parallel systems. This permits to run the exact log-likelihood evaluation of the Tukey g-and-h (TGH) random fields for a decent number of geospatial locations. To tackle large-scale problems, we provide additionally an implementation of the given model using two different low-rank approximations. The existence of fine-grained image classification supporting smart retail provides effectiveness in recognizing products with high similarity. However, the generic classification method performs poorly in identifying products from a subordinate category. This paper aims to identify augmentation techniques to leverage the Vision Transformer (ViT) model to classify the fine-grained grocery product, which involves embedding patches and transformer encoders to extract the main features. First, we develop a fine-grained image dataset with ColorJitter, CutOut, and combining both augmentations. Secondly, we perform experiments and analysis of ViT size, embedded patch size and image size in the patch embedding process. Lastly, the ViT model are evaluated according to the image sizes 224, 384, and 512 in accuracy, loss, and confusion matrix. The highest accuracy was obtained at 0.9922. The ColorJitter and CutOut improved the confusion matrix in ViT-B/16 and ViT-L/16 with an image size of 384 and 512. The results show that both augmentations in the ViT model are able to distinguish fine-grained grocery products.

Disaster management can be grouped into three stages with several activities that can be carried out starting from pre-disaster, during emergency response and post-disaster. In the pre-disasterstage one of which is mitigation, which is a series of efforts to reduce disaster risk, both through physical development and awareness raising and capacity to face the threat of disaster. In mitigation one important factor is about evacuation. Evacuation locations in disaster transportation management are urgently needed for an effective evacuation process. Evacuation location determination is a benchmark in handling evacuation that can minimize the impact of losses from the disaster. To determine the evacuation location dynamically using game theory can solve the problem by providing several alternative locations by showing the dominant factor in the variables in the selection of the evacuation site. Game theory will use pure and mixed strategies to provide the most optimum choice of criteria. Driven by advances in generative artificial intelligence (AI) techniques and algorithms, the widespread adoption of AI-generated content (AIGC) has emerged, allowing for the generation of diverse and high-quality content. Especially, the diffusion model-based AIGC technique has been widely used to generate content in a variety of modalities. However, the real-world implementation of AIGC models, particularly on resource-constrained devices such as mobile phones, introduces significant challenges related to energy consumption and privacy concerns. To further promote the realization of ubiquitous AIGC services, we propose a novel collaborative distributed diffusion-based AIGC framework. By capitalizing on collaboration among devices in wireless networks, the proposed framework facilitates the efficient execution of AIGC tasks, optimizing edge computation resource utilization. Furthermore, we examine the practical implementation of the denoising steps on mobile phones, the impact of the proposed approach on the wireless network-aided AIGC landscape, and the future opportunities associated with its real-world integration. The contributions of this paper not only offer a promising solution to the existing limitations of AIGC services but also pave the way for future research in device collaboration, resource optimization, and the seamless delivery of AIGC services across various devices. With recent advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, unmanned vehicle swarms have received great attention from both academia and industry due to their potential to provide services that are difficult and dangerous to perform by humans. However, learning and coordinating movements and actions for a large number of unmanned vehicles in complex and dynamic environments introduce significant challenges to conventional AI methods. Generative AI (GAI), with its capabilities in complex data feature extraction, transformation, and enhancement, offers great potential in solving these challenges of unmanned vehicle swarms. For that, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive survey on applications, challenges, and opportunities of GAI in unmanned vehicle swarms. Specifically, we first present an overview of unmanned vehicles and unmanned vehicle swarms as well as their use cases and existing issues. Then, an in-depth background of various GAI techniques together with their capabilities in enhancing unmanned vehicle swarms are provided. After that, we present a comprehensive review on the applications and challenges of GAI in unmanned vehicle swarms with various insights and discussions. Finally, we highlight open issues of GAI in unmanned vehicle swarms and discuss potential research directions. © 2024, CC BY.

Currently, the performance of the police in Indonesia is often in the spotlight of the public with cases that occur, both on a national and regional scale, including personal experiences who also feel disappointed with the performance of the police. The cases, such as the rape of three children by a biological father in East Luwu, and the barrage of other cases that have occurred, in their handling have left the public disappointed, giving rise to the hashtag percumlaporpolisi on social media, especially on twitter. This hashtag became trending and was widely responded to by the public. Using free hashtag keywords, tweet data is collected using Twitter’s API for sentiment analysis. The datasets obtained from the crawling results is the latest data with a total of 100 datasets. This study applies the naïve bayes algorithm using textblob which aims to determine the value of polarity and subjectivity. From the results of the analysis carried out, the words that appear most often are useless police, police chief, and policeman. While the results of the sentiment analysis that has been carried out are 40 percent positive sentiment, 40 percent are neutral sentiment and 10 percent are negative sentiment from the hashtags used. From these results, according to the keywords used, the percentage of negative sentiment should be greater than positive and neutral sentiment. It is necessary to conduct a more in-depth study related to the model used in the next research.

Software quality assurance (QA) is the most important parts of the software development life cycle. Currently, software testing is widely used for automation testing. Two of the popular tools are robot framework and selenium2. Furthermore, software testing has major methods based on Black-box (or functional) testing and White-box (or structural) testing. In order to decrease execution time and improve resource management, the parallel paradigm can be a key concept. Thus, to create the parallel paradigm, we propose the use of selenium-robot-framework Docker container with the parallelization agent. The results show that the 4 workers case of parallelization not only decreased to one-third of the execution time of 1 worker case but also used all physical CPU cores quite similar around 50%. Furthermore, we show how the parallel paradigm using containers and the software automation testing tool beneficial to the significance of resource management.

Unbiased Estimation using Underdamped Langevin Dynamics

In this work we consider the unbiased estimation of expectations w.r.t. probability measures that have non-negative Lebesgue density, and which are known point-wise up-to a normalizing constant. We focus upon developing an unbiased method via the underdamped Langevin dynamics, which has proven to be popular of late due to applications in statistics and machine learning. Specifically in continuous-time, the dynamics can be constructed so that as the time goes to infinity they admit the probability of interest as a stationary measure. In many cases, time-discretized versions of the underdamped Langevin dynamics are used in practice which are run only with a fixed number of iterations. We develop a novel scheme based upon doubly randomized estimation as in [17, 19], which requires access only to time-discretized versions of the dynamics. The proposed scheme aims to remove the dicretization bias and the bias resulting from running the dynamics for a finite number of iterations. We prove, under standard assumptions, that our estimator is of finite variance and either has finite expected cost, or has finite cost with a high probability.
