The shortcomings of existing description logics in the representation of fuzzy knowledge and data types are analyzed and a kind of new fuzzy description logic named F-SHOIQ(G) is proposed in the paper. F-SHOIQ(G) can support not only the representation of fuzzy knowledge, but also the representation of fuzzy data information with customized fuzzy data types and customized fuzzy data type predicates. Firstly, the concept of fuzzy data type group and a general formalism of the representation of fuzzy data types are introduced. Then, based on the fuzzy data type group, the syntax, semantics of F-SHOIQ(G) and the components of its corresponding knowledge base are defined. Furthermore, the satisfiability reasoning algorithm of F-SHOIQ(G)-concept based on the fuzzy Tableaux is presented. Secondly, the traditional reasoning architecture in which the reasoning of Tableaux expansion rules and data type can be divided is adopted for the reasoning of F-SHOIQ(G). The corresponding fuzzy data type reasoner is designed. Finally, the decidability of the satisfiability reasoning problem of F-SHOIQ(G)-concept is proved. The representation and reasoning capabilities of F-SHOIQ(G) go beyond the fuzzy description logic FSHOIQ in the representation of data information. F-SHOIQ(G) lays a theoretical foundation for the representation and reasoning of fuzzy data information in the Semantic Web.

In mobile ad hoc networks, the unstable transport layer and inhibited amount of traffic being carried out by the network is owing to the high packet loss rates and frequent topological changes. It is essential that least available bandwidth and end-to-end latency along with congestion around a link are integrated in a QoS-based routing metric for MANETs. In this paper we develop a QoS-based, robust multipath routing (QRMR) protocol for mobile ad hoc networks to allot weights to individual links, depending on the metrics link quality, channel quality and end-to-end delay. The individual link weights are combined into a routing metric to validate the load balancing and interference between links using the same channel. Consequently, the traffic is balanced and the network capacity is improved as the weight value assists the routing protocol to evade routing traffic through congested area. Subsequently, the selection of the proportion of traffic to be routed to each neighbor is made to perform routing such that the weight of the node is a possible minimum. We illustrate the robustness of our protocol as it accomplishes increased packet delivery ratio with reduced latency, through simulation results.

The increasing demand of real-time multimedia applications in wireless environment requires stringent quality of service (QoS) provisioning to the mobile hosts (MH). The scenario becomes more complex during group communication from single source to multiple destinations. Fulfilling users demand with respect to delay, jitter, available bandwidth, packet loss rate and cost associated with the communication needs multi-objective optimization (MOO) with QoS satisfaction, is a NP-complete problem. In this paper we propose a multi-objective optimal algorithm to determine a min-cost multicast tree with end-to-end delay, jitter, packet loss rate and blocking probability constraints. The simulation result shows that the proposed algorithm satisfies QoS requirements (like high availability, good load balancing and fault-tolerance) made by the hosts in varying topology and bursty data traffic for multimedia communication networks. The performance of the algorithm for scalability is also highly encouraged.

Measurement of image similarity is important for a number of image processing applications. Image similarity assessment is closely related to image quality assessment and is based on the apparent differences between a degraded image and the original, unmodified image. Automated evaluation of image retrieval systems relies on accurate quality measurement of similarity among the input image and the database images. In this paper, we have treated the image under pixel level where we used the mean squared error (MSE) algorithms for measuring similarity between the input image and the training data images, The mean squared error (MSE) simulations have demonstrated its promise through a set of examples by showing its accuracy and low computation cost, though it didn't show good results with precision on similarity of images and for rotated, translated or flipped images hence we proposed the use of minimum circumscribed circle (concentric circles) with local binary pattern and compare the results to get the best image similarity method. Hence comparing different results some improved performance were observed.
