A Novel Action Transformer Network for Hybrid Multimodal Sign Language Recognition

A biodiesel power plant, location, production and electricity demand of Jazan Municipalities, Saudi Arabia using GIS

This study aims to determine the optimal location for a biodiesel power plant in the municipality of Jazan based on selection criteria by estimating energy consumption and using spatial analysis within the framework of GIS and Structured Query Language (SQL). Additionally, the study will calculate how much electricity each town needs. After Vision 2030, the user can combine the information from remote sensing (RS) and GIS mapping with electricity demand estimation to determine an appropriate location and evaluate the power plant's efficiency. A range of sources, including the Jazan city base map, satellite images, aerial photographs, landuse map, and demographic data, were used to collect descriptive and geographic data as part of the paper's methodology. This data was first entered into the digital model using the ArcGIS 10.4 program, and it was subsequently categorized according to the model's accuracy. Additionally, the data underwent a number of procedures, including scanning printed maps, georeferencing, and on-screen digitizing, to complete the logical design of the digital model. Additionally, the model was spatially assessed in compliance with the requirements for selecting the optimal location for the biodiesel power plant. The criteria and analysis were arranged using Structured Query Language (SQL) and spatial analysis, which determined the best location for a biodiesel power plant station with the greatest ability to model population increase. Mathematical model equations were used to estimate population size, growth rate, and electrical demands (Brauer and Castillo-Chavez in Mathematical models in population biology and epidemiology: Texts in Applied Mathematics, Springer-Verlag, New York USA., 2012). With a total electricity production capacity of 250,167,600 Kilowatt-hour (KWh), the study and investigation efforts concluded that the optimal site for the biodiesel power plant would be in the Dammed municipality. Inpatient falls from beds in hospitals are a common *** falls may result in severe *** problem can be addressed by continuous monitoring of patients using *** advancements in deep learning-based video analytics have made this task of fall detection more effective and *** with fall detection,monitoring of different activities of the patients is also of significant concern to assess the improvement in their *** computation-intensive models are required to monitor every action of the patient *** requirement limits the applicability of such ***,to keep the model lightweight,the already designed fall detection networks can be extended to monitor the general activities of the patients along with the fall *** by the same notion,we propose a novel,lightweight,and efficient patient activity monitoring system that broadly classifies the patients’activities into fall,activity,and rest classes based on their *** whole network comprises three sub-networks,namely a Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)based video compression network,a Lightweight Pose Network(LPN)and a Residual Network(ResNet)Mixer block-based activity recognition *** compression network compresses the video streams using deep learning networks for efficient storage and retrieval;after that,LPN estimates human ***,the activity recognition network classifies the patients’activities based on their *** proposed system shows an overall accuracy of approx.99.7% over a standard dataset with 99.63% fall detection accuracy and efficiently monitors different events,which may help monitor the falls and improve the inpatients’health.

A Graph-Assisted Digital-Twin-Driven Multiagent Shared Offloading for Internet of Vehicles

Vehicular edge computing (VEC) allows vehicles to process part of the tasks locally at the network edge while offloading the rest of the tasks to a centralized cloud server for processing. A massive volume of tasks generated by the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) leads to buffer overflow that causes higher latency. Elevating latency, in turn, can increase network energy consumption. Both higher latency and energy consumption lead to a degradation of network performance. Therefore, VEC design requires a balance between latency and energy consumption tradeoff. To reduce overwhelming amount of offloading to edge servers, a cooperative cluster-based shared offloading strategy has been proposed in this work. We use digital twin technology in VEC for managing and adapting to environmental dynamic changes. Then, we leverage Lyapunov (Ly) optimization to transform the stochastic offloading problem into a more manageable deterministic form. Finally, we present a decentralized coordination graph (CG)-driven Ly-based multiagent deep deterministic policy gradient (CG-LyMADDPG) algorithm that trains agents toward energy efficient optimal offloading policy while maintaining queue stability at a maximum delay constraint. The experimental result shows that the proposed learning significantly outperforms the baseline algorithms for energy savings while maintain queue stability. © 2014 IEEE.

Skin cancer detection with MobileNet-based transfer learning and MixNets for enhanced diagnosis

Skin cancer poses a significant health hazard, necessitating the utilization of advanced diagnostic methodologies to facilitate timely detection, owing to its escalating prevalence in recent years. This paper proposes a novel approach to tackle the issue by introducing a method for detecting skin cancer that uses MixNets to enhance diagnosis and leverages mobile network-based transfer learning. Skin cancer has diverse forms, each distinguishable by its structural attributes, morphological characteristics, texture, and coloration. The pressing demand for accurate and efficient diagnostic instruments has spurred the investigation of novel techniques. The present study utilizes the ISIC dataset, comprising a validation set of 660 images and a training set of 2637 images. Moreover, the research employs a combination of MixNets and mobile network-based transfer learning as its chosen approach. Transfer learning is a technique that leverages preexisting models to enhance the diagnostic capabilities of the proposed system. Integrating MobileNet and MixNets allows for utilizing their respective functionalities, resulting in a dual-model methodology that enhances the comprehensiveness of skin cancer diagnosis. The results demonstrate impressive performance metrics, with MobileNet and MixNets models, and the proposed approach achieves an outstanding accuracy rate of 99.58%. The above findings underscore the efficacy of the dual-model method in effectively discerning between benign and malignant skin lesions. Moreover, the present study aims to examine the potential integration of emerging technologies to enhance the accuracy and practicality of diagnostics within real-world healthcare settings. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Traditional farming procedures are time-consuming and expensive as based on manual labor. Farmers haveno proper knowledge to select which crop is suitable to grow according to the environmental factors and soilcharacteristics. This is the main reason for the low yield of crops and the economic crisis in the agricultural sectorof the different countries. The use of modern technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning,and ensemble learning can facilitate farmers to observe different factors such as soil electrical conductivity (EC),and environmental factors like temperature to improve crop yield. These parameters play a vital role in suggestinga suitable crop to cope the food scarcity. This paper proposes a systemcomprised of twomodules, first module usesstatic data and the second module takes hybrid data collection (IoT-based real-time data and manual data) withmachine learning and ensemble learning algorithms to suggest the suitable crop in the farm to maximize the *** is used to train the model that predicts the crop. This system proposed an intelligent and low-cost solutionfor the farmers to process the data and predict the suitable *** implemented the proposed system in the *** efficiency and accuracy of the proposed system are confirmed by the generated results to predict the crop.
