He is currently manager quality programs at RGE Engineering Service Company where he provides technical support to the ATC Program in the area of combat system modularity design. lhe is a member of ASNE and the Surface Navy Association. Larry Olmstead:received his B.L.S. degree in mathematics and computer scienc from Mary Washington College in 1982 and his M.S. degree in system management from the University of Southern California in 1986. He chaired the C'I Modular Implementation Wroking Group (MIWG) from its inception in September 1993 to December 1996 as a combat system engineer in the PEO CLA Engineering management Office (Code PMS307). He is currently employed at Science Application International Corporation.

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a BSEE degree he has over 35 years experience in functional operational combat system fire control interface and computer program design. As technology changed and the combat system was upgraded Mr. Roos maintained his level of technical expertise by taking graduate-level courses in computer science modelling & structured analysis networking & fiber optics. He has worked in various capacities on the LHD LHA DDG 993 DD 963 LPD 17 LCC LPD 13 CGN 38 CGN 9 CG 26 and the DDG Class Combat Systems. In recent years Mr. Roos has been responsible for managing directing and performing engineering design and analysis efforts associated with Battle Management Organization (BMO) functional analysis and operational analysis. These efforts were used in defining combat system operational requirements shipboard space requirements and integration requirements. His paper “Configuration Management of Digital Programs” was published at the 1972 IEEE Southeastern Conrence.

He completed his bachelor of science degree in aeropace and ocean engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1985 and his master of science degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Maryland in 1990. Mr. Dirlik recently completed a master of science program in applied physics at The Johns Hopins University and currently works in the Radar Cross Section and Target Physics Branch of the Signatures Directorate at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Corderoke Division. He has worked on Navy low observable programs since 1990. Stephen Hambric:is a research associate at the Applied Research Laboratory at The Pennsylvania State University. He received his B. S. and M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and his D. Sc. in mechnical engineering from the George Washington University. He has worked on several computer aided multidiscikplinary design and optimization projects over the years including an automated propeller design system and a structural acoustic optimization capability. Dr. Shpour Azarm:is currently working as an associate professor with the Design and Manufacturing Group of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of maryland at College Park. Dr Azarm's expertise is in the areas of optimization-based designed and concurrent design and optimization of multidisciplinary systems. He was a consultant at Black & Decker Corporation (summer 1996) and worked as a Navy senior summer faculty fellow (summer 1995) and a NASA summer faculty fellow (summer 1994). He was a visiting scientist at NASA Langley Research Center for Multidisciplinary Analysis and Applied Structural Optimzatiom at the University of Siegen in Germany (spring 1992) and the Design Institute of the Technical University of Denmark (summer 1990). He has worked in the fields of communication system design mobile communication network and spacecraft payload design. He is currently working on the development of satellite-based ATM transport and switching architectures for BISDN and Defense Information System Network amlications. Dr. Pond is a member of IEEE. Victor O. K. Li was born in Hong Kong in 1954. He received his SB SM and Sc.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Cambridge Massachusetts in 1977 1979 and 1981 respectively. Since February 1981 he has been with the University of Southern California (USC) LOS Angeles California where he is Professor of Electrical Engineering and Director of the USC Communication Sciences Institute. He has published 150 technical papers and has lectured and consulted extensively around the world. His research interests include high-speed communication networks personal communication networks intelligent networks distributed databases queueing theory graph theory and applied probability. 作者: Halverson, Mark Ozdes, Demir Mark Halverson:received a BSEE from the University of Michigan in 1972 followed by an MS in Computer Information and Control System Engineering in 1973 also from the University of Michigan. Mr. Halverson has worked predominantly on military and aerospace design projects for such companies as Litton and Northrop. He is a specialist in inertial navigation and control systems. He has also worked with PLG Inc. as a risk analyst on various projects including commercial military and space applications. Since 1986 Mr. Halverson is an aerospace consultant working in Europe where he among other activities codeveloped the BRAT probabilistic risk analysis program. Demir Ozdes:received his BSEE from Purdue University in 1958 and his MSEE from the University of Arizona in 1963. He has over 35 years of experience in electronic design system engineering optimal control system design and analysis as well as in the design analysis and simulation of synergistic navigation systems. He has worked at Northrop Teledyne SPC TRW and Litton. Since 1984 he has been a private consultant in the aerospace field in Europe and is co-holder of patents as well as being a co-developer of the BRAT probabilistic risk analysis program.

He received his B.S.E. degree cum laude in structural materials and fluids engineering from the University of South Florida in 1979. Mr. Ayers began his career in the naval shipbuilding industry as a structural design engineer for the Long Beach Naval Shipyard. Currently he is the computer applications manager for the DDG-51 consultant for other ship design projects and has special responsibility for teaching CAD applications and utilization. He has received a letter of appreciation for his work on the DDG-51 ship design and has earned several superior achievement awards while involved in such projects as the battleship modernization and CIWS. Mr. Ayers has been a project leader for the LHA and FF-1052 class of ships and for a number of other ships undergoing construction. He is also an active member of ASNE. Patrick J. Callahan:is the manager of the Computer Aided Design Branch of the Computer Applications Directorate at Designers & Planners Inc. Mr. Callahan worked at General Dynamics Electric Boat Division for 10 years where he was involved in CAD detail design efforts for the SSBN-726 class and the SSN-688 class submarines. In 1984 he joined M. Rosenblatt & Son Inc. and was CAD design supervisor overseeing the operations of their CAD system. Currently managing the CAD Branch at D&P he is responsible for a variety of CAD projects such as being a key member of the DDG-51 Computer Aided Ship Design Program developing procedures and documentation for systems operation. He served as project manager for the IGES conversion of 650 FFG-7 class drawings from a McAuto to a Computervision database. Most recently he was responsible for generating the digital drawing package for the AO-177 (Jumbo) contract design. He received a bachelor of electrical engineering degree from College of the City of New York in 1960. Mr. Stern joined Dynell Electronics Corporation in 1971 and became part of the Robotic Vision Systems Inc. staff at the time of its spin-off from Dynell. He was program manager of the various three-dimensional sensing and replication systems constructed by Dynell and Robotic Vision Systems. As program manager his responsibilities encompassed technical administrative and operational areas. The first two portrait sculpture studio systems and the first three replication systems built by Robotic Vision Systems Inc. were designed manufactured and operated under his direction. Before joining Dynell Mr. Stern was a senior engineer at Instrument Systems Corporation and chief engineer of the Special Products Division of General Instrument Corporation. Prior to these positions Mr. Stern was chief engineer of Edo Commercial Corporation. At General Instrument and Edo Commercial he was responsible for the design and manufacture of military and commercial avionics equipment. Mr. Stern is presently responsible for directing the systems design and development for all of the company's programs. Robert J. Metzger:is currently engineering group leader at Robotic Vision Systems Inc. He graduated summa cum laude from the Cooper Union in 1972 with a bachelor of electrical engineering degree. Under sponsorship of a National Science Foundation graduate fellowship he graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1974 with the degrees of electrical engineer and master of science (electrical engineering). Since 1987 Mr. Kirksharian has been involved in the system design of the RAMP R&D project. He acquired a B. S. degree in mechanical engineering in 1978 from the George R. Brown School of Engineering at Rice University. After several years of project engineering in the energy industry he received his M.S. degree in mechanical engineering in 1987 from Texas A&M University. Mr. Kirksharian has authored on the subject of computer-aided manufacturing with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and is a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
