A better understanding of the mmWave channel coherence time will play a significant role in both communication and sensing. Traditional literatures consider that the channel coherence time in mmWave communication will be very short due to high frequency, which makes the channel estimation more difficult. However, we believe that the propagation characteristics of the mmWave channel will affect its coherence time, i.e., channel sparsity may limit its time variability. In this paper, we investigate the time-varying nature of mmWave channel by analyzing its Doppler spread based on the clustered sparsity model. After the derivation of Doppler spectrum DPS and the simulation analysis based on the two-cluster channel, we found that the maximum angle between clusters and the power distribution between clusters are two main factors limiting the Doppler spread. Finally, the realistic mmWave NYUSIM model is used for Doppler spread comparative analysis with Clarke’s model and find that Doppler spread of NYUSIM channel is far less than that estimated based on Clarke’s model. Thus, it is demonstrated that even if the mmWave frequency is high, the clustered sparsity characteristics makes its channel coherence time not as short as thought intuitively, which is meaningful for mmWave vehicular sensing and communication.

Integrated sensing and communications is regarded as a key enabling technology in the sixth generation networks, where a unified waveform, such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal, is adopted to facilitate both sensing and communications (S&C). However, the random communication data embedded in the OFDM signal results in severe variability in the sidelobes of its ambiguity function (AF), which leads to missed detection of weak targets and false detection of ghost targets, thereby impairing the sensing performance. Therefore, balancing between preserving communication capability (i.e., the randomness) while improving sensing performance remains a challenging task. To cope with this issue, we characterize the random AF of OFDM communication signals, and demonstrate that the AF variance is determined by the fourth-moment of the constellation amplitudes. Subsequently, we propose an optimal probabilistic constellation shaping (PCS) approach by maximizing the achievable information rate (AIR) under the fourth-moment, power and probability constraints, where the optimal input distribution may be numerically specified through a modified Blahut-Arimoto algorithm. To reduce the computational overheads, we further propose a heuristic PCS approach by actively controlling the value of the fourth-moment, without involving the communication metric in the optimization model, despite that the AIR is passively scaled with the variation of the input distribution. Numerical results show that both approaches strike a scalable performance tradeoff between S&C, where the superiority of the PCS-enabled constellations over conventional uniform constellations is also verified. Notably, the heuristic approach achieves very close performance to the optimal counterpart, at a much lower computational complexity. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Smartphone malware's rapid development suggests malicious programme developers moving from standard PC systems to smart phone computers. Technology experts are now also developing new methods of anti-malware for adequate security. For the identification of smart phone dangerous applications, this study proposes a Blockchain-based malware mitigation framework (B2MDF) (app stores). For the ultimate judgement, the system combines two internal and external proprietary block chains to establish a private dual blockchain and a blockchain alliance. Blocks produced from both static and dynamically driven function removers are stored in the private internal blockchain stores, whilst blocks for current models are detected in the external blockchain stores. B2MDF also exchanges function blocks with third parties, which allows providers of anti-malware to offer more exact *** rating permissions, we employed the idea of information value. Furthermore, because blockchain has great dependability and cheap cost, we developed a consensus-based blockchain framework for generating more concrete predictions. The top 45 permissions, rated by Information Value, are used to obtain this accuracy.

Convolutional neural networks trained using supervised learning can improve visual perception for human-robot walking. These advances have been possible due to largescale datasets like ExoNet and StairNet - the largest open-source image datasets of real-world walking environments. However, these datasets require vast amounts of manually annotated data, the development of which is time consuming and labor intensive. Here we present a novel semi-supervised learning system (ExoNet-SSL) that uses over 1.2 million unlabelled images from ExoNet to improve training efficiency. We developed a deep learning model based on mobile vision transformers and trained the model using semi-supervised learning for image classification. Compared to standard supervised learning (98.4%), our ExoNet-SSL system was able to maintain high prediction accuracy (98.8%) when tested on previously unseen environments, while requiring 35% fewer labelled images during training. These results show that semi-supervised learning can improve training efficiency by leveraging large amounts of unlabelled data and minimize the size requirements for manually annotated images. Future research $\text{will}$ focus on model deployment for onboard real-time inference and control of human-robot walking.

After two decades, data processing has finally, and probably forever, found its niche among civil engineering and construction (CEC) professionnals, through word processors, digitizing tables, management software, and increasingly via drawing software and computer-aided design (CAD), recently, robots have even started invading work sites. What are the main trends of CAD and robotics in the field of architecture and civil enginee ring? What type of R&D effort do university and industrial laboratories undertake to devise the professional software that will be on the market in the next three to five years? These are the issues which will be addressed during this symposium. To this effect, we have planned concurrently an equipment and software show, as well as a twofold conference. Robotic is just starting in the field of civil engineering and construction. A pioneer, the Civil engineering Departement of Carnegie-Mellon University, in the United States, organized the first two international symposia, in 1984 and 1985 in Pittsburgh. This is the third meeting on the subject (this year, however, we have also included CAD). It constitutes the first large international symposium where CAD experts, specialists in architecture and CEC robotics will meet. From this standpoint, it should be an ideal forum for exchanging views and expe riences on a wide range of topics, and we hope it will give rise to novel applications and new syntheses. This symposium is intented for scientists, teachers, students and also for manufacturers and all CEC professionals.

Mobile Adhoc Networks (MANETs) is an emerging technology in both the industrial and academic research. The major drawback in MANETs is improving the battery capacity. MANETs are dynamic in nature therefore during communication it consumes more energy that reduces the overall energy efficiency of the network. Many past and present researches are concern about this problem. In this paper, Energy Preservation in MANETs using Self-Adaptive Cluster Head Selection with Advanced Genetic Algorithm (EPMSA-CHAG) approach is proposed where the CH selection is performed using two segments; they are initial parameter based on CH selection and Advanced Genetic Algorithm (AGA) based CH selection. At the initial stage the parameters which are considered for the CH selection are node degree, node stability, distance, residual energy, and speed and delivery rate. Using these parameters are the best fit for CH selection is chosen then in order to find the optimal best fit from the best fit calculation, Advanced Genetic Algorithm (AGA). The proposed EPMSA-CHAG approach is simulated using NS2 and the parameters which are considered for the performance analysis are packet delivery rate, energy efficiency, end to end delay, routing overhead and throughput. The methods that are taken for the comparative analysis are HLSPM-CHSR and HAMBO-CHLD. From the results calculated it is proven that the proposed EPMSA-CHAG approach achieved high packet delivery rate, energy efficiency and throughput as well as lower end to end delay and routing overhead when compared with the earlier methods HLSPM-CHSR and HAMBO-CHLD.

He sits on the IEEE SCC-28 Committee for personnel radiation hazards and is extensively involved in the EM engineering initiative at NavSea. Mr. Baron has lectured at the MIT Summer Professional Series on the subject of electromagnetic interference. While attending Marquette University he started his career with the Navy as a coop student supporting personnel radiation hazard assessments. After graduating with a BS in bio-medical engineering he took an electronics engineer position in the Systems Electromagnetic Division. Since then he has lectured on Navy training films and has developed several software packages which have pushed the state-of-the-art in EMI assessment. Mr. Baron has prepared several reports and professional papers. He has worked on several professional committees and in February of 1991 was awarded the “Young Engineer of the Year Award” which was presented by the D.C. Council of Engineering and Architectural Societies. Donald R. Cebulskiis currently the head of the Topside Design Division in the Naval Sea Systems Command Weapons and Combat System Directorate. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in 1963 and a master's degree in 1977 both in naval architecture and marine engineering. He started his career in 1964 at the Bureau of Ships and joined the Aircraft Carrier Section of the Arrangements Branch in Hull Design. During the past 25 years he has included almost every naval ship type in his ship arrangement experience and in October of 1988 he transferred to the Topside Design and Integration Branch in the System Electromagnetics Division Sea 06. Mr. Cebulski has written several papers on ship arrangements computer aided design and ship topside design. He prepared and presented lectures at the MIT Professional Series on ship topside design and has served on many ASNE committees. He is currently the

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is one of the major contributors to mission degradation in our fleet today due to the increase in population and sensitivity of both topside and below deck electronic systems. Sensitive combat systems designed to counter intelligent and deceptive targets can be confused by the complex intra-ship EM environment. This can cause identification failure or losing "track" of a hostile or incoming missile or even engaging "friendly targets." Topside design and integration efforts have been used to reduce EMI, but this is not the total solution to the problem. A program of total ship and system EMI assessment and control must be implemented. This program must exploit electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) optimization in electronic circuit design and take advantage of and (in some cases) direct topside shapes and structures to control the propagation of desired and undesired EM energy. Positive and active control of EM design characteristics are absolutely required before optimum combat system effectiveness can be realized. This paper will describe the current topside design process, EMC improvements being made, and how the process is being integrated into, and is dependent upon, the ship design process. It will give examples of some of the major mission degrading EMI problems in the fleet today and how past problems were solved with existing EM analysis programs. It will also discuss the control of EM energy in new design through the use of techniques being developed such as ray tracing and ray casting. The paper projects where the challenges lie for future topside and EM engineering designers and describes how the equipment technology transfer process must be better integrated to meet the challenge of effective EMI control.

Integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) has emerged as a pivotal enabling technology for next-generation wireless networks. Despite the distinct signal design requirements of sensing and communication (S&C) systems, shifting the symbol-wise pulse shaping (SWiPS) framework from communication-only systems to ISAC poses significant challenges in signal design and processing This paper addresses these challenges by examining the ambiguity function (AF) of the SWiPS ISAC signal and introducing a novel pulse shaping design for single-carrier ISAC transmission. We formulate optimization problems to minimize the average integrated sidelobe level (ISL) of the AF, as well as the weighted ISL (WISL) while satisfying inter-symbol interference (ISI), out-of-band emission (OOBE), and power constraints. Our contributions include establishing the relationship between the AFs of both the random data symbols and signaling pulses, analyzing the statistical characteristics of the AF, and developing algorithmic frameworks for pulse shaping optimization using successive convex approximation (SCA) and alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) approaches. Numerical results are provided to validate our theoretical analysis, which demonstrate significant performance improvements in the proposed SWiPS design compared to the root-raised cosine (RRC) pulse shaping for conventional communication systems. Driven by worldwide demands for renewable energy source, photovoltaic (PV) inverters, which are the most important part for energy conversion, have seen a considerable amount of innovations in recent years. The trends for PV inverters are toward high efficiency, high reliability, low ground leakage current, low-output ac-current distortion, and reactive power capability. This paper provides an efficiency optimized design of an Auxiliary Resonant Snubber with Coupled-Magnetic Reset Zero-voltage switching (ZVS) inverter for PV application. The main device is Power MOSFETs, which have low conduction loss and could achieve ZVS in all load condition. The auxiliary devices are low current, low cost IGBTs and Diodes, which could achieve zero-current switching (ZCS). To achieve high efficiency, resonant circuit is analyzed to optimally design the resonant components, which is based on the guarantee of full range ZVS, gating delay-time design, and lower power loss in auxiliary circuit. The power loss model is also analyzed to select suitable power device and further improve the efficiency. At last, experiment results of a 5kW single phase inverter in PV system was presented, which has more than 99% CEC efficiency and work in full load condition without cooling fan. Besides, reactive power capability is also demonstrated.

Due to advancements in lighting technologies new opportunities for application emerge. In this paper an interdisciplinary study towards the development of adaptive lighting environments is presented. An implementation of an adaptive lighting environment is made in the domain of office work. For evaluation, experts from the domains of human-system interaction, activity and context recognition, and system architecture design are interviewed. Contributions are made with regard to the implementation of the adaptive lighting in office environments and an evaluation method that is in line with the interdisciplinary approach. From the evaluation method insights in the fields of human-computer interaction, activity and context recognition and system architecture and (wireless) networking and in topics that span across these fields are gained.
