Period-doubling bifurcation,as an intermediate state between order and chaos,is ubiquitous in all disciplines of nonlinear ***,previous experimental observations of period doubling in ultrafast fiber lasers are mainly restricted to self-sustained steady state,controllable manipulation and dynamic switching between period doubling and other intriguing dynamical states are still largely ***,we propose to expand the vision of dissipative soliton periodic doubling,which we illustrate experimentally by reporting original spontaneous,collisional,and controllable spectral period doubling in a polarization-maintaining ultrafast fiber ***,the spontaneous period doubling can be observed in both single-and *** mechanism of the switchable state and periodic doubling was revealed by numerical ***,state transformation of individual solitons can be resolved during the collision of triple solitons involving stationary,oscillating,and period ***,controllable deterministic switching between period doubling and other dynamical states,as well as exemplifying the application of period-doubling-based digital encoding,is achieved under programmable pump *** results open a new window for unveiling complex Hopf bifurcation in dissipative systems and bring useful insights into nonlinear science and applications.

The automobile service industry's explosive growth highlights the need for creative approaches to boost operational effectiveness and user experience. This study introduces a Hybrid Garage Assistance system, integrating Classical Machine Learning (ML) techniques with Generative AI to optimize garage service discovery and analysis. The system employs sophisticated data processing methods, including Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) vectorization and regex-based service detection, to extract actionable insights from unstructured garage *** to the system are machine learning models Random Forest (RF) and XGBoost (XGB) which achieve high precision and recall in classifying garage services. A hybrid search mechanism, combining cosine similarity with ML-driven predictions, ensures the delivery of highly personalized search results. To further refine decision-making, the system incorporates Generative AI models such as Perplexity for web-based research, Gemini for location-specific analysis, Mistral for email sending and GPT-4 for detailed service recommendations and dall-e for creating user specific parts images. These advanced tools provide users with comprehensive information that enables them to make well-informed decisions about garage *** evaluation of the system is conducted using robust metrics, including precision, recall, F1-score, and system latency. Experimental results reveal a precision of 85%, recall of 70.8%, and an F1-score of 77.2%, demonstrating the efficacy of integrating classical ML with generative AI. Surrogate-assisted evolutionary algorithms (SAEAs) have demonstrated promising optimization performance in addressing expensive dynamic optimization problems or expensive multimodal optimization problems. However, none of existing SAEAs are designed specifically for tackling expensive dynamic multimodal optimization problems (EDMMOPs). Therefore, in this paper, a first SAEA for tackling EDMMOPs is proposed. First, a nearest density clustering is designed to divide the population into a number of subpopulations, enhancing the diversity of the population. Then, a surrogate-assisted evolutionary optimizer is developed to construct surrogate models for each subpopulation and evolve all solutions in subpopulations by means of the built surrogate models, accelerating the population's converge towards several optimal solutions rapidly. Finally, a transfer learning-based prediction is devised to generate initial samples for next environment by leveraging the stored training samples in the previous environments. To assess the performance of our proposed algorithm, a set of complex benchmark problems is adopted, and the experimental results confirm its superior performance over several competitive algorithms on most test cases. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper introduces a deep learning (DL)-based vision system for real-time object detection, grasping, and sorting using a UR5e robotic manipulator, aimed to address the challenges faced in industrial automation while grasping and sorting randomly placed objects in the workspace. The system utilizes a fine-tuned detection model, YOLOv8s, trained on a custom dataset of three distinct objects for testing a real-time grasping and sorting system using DL. Once the objects are detected in the workspace, image processing techniques are applied to each detected object to extract the accurate grasping information like the centroid and the orientation. This information is then converted to the robotic arm-based coordinate system to ensure the accurate manipulation of the objects in the workspace. The system is tested in the cluttered environment of the tabletop workspace to grasp and sort the objects, significantly enhancing both speed and accuracy in real-time industrial tasks. Experimental results show grasping accuracy of 93.33%, demonstrating the system's potential to improve automation efficiency in Industry 4.0 applications. © 2024 IEEE.

Open communication system in modern power systems brings concern about information staleness which may cause power system frequency *** information staleness is often characterized by communication ***,communication delay is a packet-centered metric and cannot reflect the requirement of information freshness for load frequency control(LFC).This paper introduces the age of information(AoI),which is more compre-hensive and informative than the conventional communication delay modeling *** LFC controller and com-munication are integrated into the design for LFC performance *** AoI-aware LFC model is formulated first,and considering each allowable update period of the smart sensor,different AoI-aware PI controllers are then designed according to the exponential decay *** right AoI-aware controller and update period are selected according to the degree of frequency fluctuation of the power *** studies are carried out on one-area and two-area power *** results show the superior performance of the AoI-aware controllers in comparison to the delay-dependent controllers.

This paper explores recent innovation in the field of robotic teleoperation, presenting a state-of-the-art system for a robotic arm, configurable as an exoskeleton or prosthetic limb. Based on noninvasive neural headset technology, the system captures movement intentions directly from the user’s neural activity. By precisely interpreting neural signals and translating them into robotic arm movements, the system bridges the gap between human intention and robotic action. Its uniqueness lies in its ability to interpret the subtleties of human intent through non-invasive means, providing intuitive and fluid control over the robotic arm. The system is distinguished by the efficient use of rich neural activity, thus improving usability and opening up new possibilities for people with mobility impairments. The paper analyzes technical complexities, detailing the functionality of neural headsets, signal decoding algorithms, and the command formation process for the robotic arm. It also presents empirical evidence of the effectiveness of the system and discusses possible applications and future improvements.
