Image Enhancement via Associated Perturbation Removal and Texture Reconstruction Learning

Degradation under challenging conditions such as rain, haze, and low light not only diminishes content visibility, but also results in additional degradation side effects, including detail occlusion and color distortion. However, current technologies have barely explored the correlation between perturbation removal and background restoration, consequently struggling to generate high-naturalness content in challenging scenarios. In this paper, we rethink the image enhancement task from the perspective of joint optimization: Perturbation removal and texture reconstruction. To this end, we advise an efficient yet effective image enhancement model, termed the perturbation-guided texture reconstruction network(PerTeRNet). It contains two subnetworks designed for the perturbation elimination and texture reconstruction tasks, respectively. To facilitate texture recovery,we develop a novel perturbation-guided texture enhancement module(PerTEM) to connect these two tasks, where informative background features are extracted from the input with the guidance of predicted perturbation priors. To alleviate the learning burden and computational cost, we suggest performing perturbation removal in a sub-space and exploiting super-resolution to infer high-frequency background details. Our PerTeRNet has demonstrated significant superiority over typical methods in both quantitative and qualitative measures, as evidenced by extensive experimental results on popular image enhancement and joint detection tasks. Sleep quality prediction in Internet of Things (IoT) involves leveraging a system of interrelated devices to gather as well as analyse related data. Smart devices like wearable devices or smart mattresses endlessly monitor many parameters such as body movement, heart rate, and environmental situations in bedroom. Real-time recommendations and feedback transported to consumers, allowing them to create informed lifestyle changes for superior sleep hygiene. As IoT ecosystem continues to develop, a combination of various data streams as well as classy analytics holds assurance for further refining sleep quality forecasts and improving overall well-being. The article designs a Bald Eagle Search Algorithm with Hierarchical Deep Learning for Internet of Things Assisted Sleep Quality Recognition (BESHDL-SQP) technique. The purpose of the BESHDL-SQP technique is to recognize and classify the quality of the sleep level in the IoT environment. In the presented BESHDL-SQP technique, the preliminary stage of data pre-processing using min–max normalization involved to normalize the input data. For predicting sleep quality, hierarchical long short-term memory (LSTM) technique exploited. Lastly, BES model utilized for optimal hyperparameter selection of LSTM method which helps in attaining enhanced results. To validate better performance of BESHDL-SQP technique, a huge range of simulation analysis is carried out. Two-dimensional vibration measurement is essential for monitoring structure and machine health, especially providing more information than those 1D solutions. However, most existing 2D vibration monitoring methods require multi-dimension sensors, which can be costly for large-scale deployment. In this paper, we propose m^2 Vib, the first work that can realize accurate 2D vibration measurement using a single mmWave radar. Our system is achieved by creating a virtual radar with non-line-of-sight (NLoS) signals from a nearby reflector (e.g., wall) to offer the 2nd-dimension vibration observations. We further establish a geometric model to unveil the relationship between 2D vibration displacement and mmWave signal. Such an idea still encounters challenges from significantly attenuated NLoS signals and low-resolution geometric parameters from the commercial mmWave radar. Thus, we design a new retroreflector to enhance NLoS signals and advanced signal processing methods to obtain fine-grained geometric parameters. Extensive experimental results show that we can achieve sub-mm level 2D vibration measurement with an average vibration displacement error of 62.2 um and frequency error of 0.01 Hz in the X-axis and Y-axis. © 2024 IEEE.

Segmentation of brain tumors aids in diagnosing the disease early, planning treatment, and monitoring its progression in medical image analysis. Automation is necessary to eliminate the time and variability associated with traditional segmentation methods. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and U-Net architectures have demonstrated their efficiency and effectiveness in segmenting brain tumors from MRI images using deep learning techniques. The paper presents an improved U-Net-based segmentation algorithm that integrates nested skip paths to improve encoder-decoder feature fusion. The performance of segmentation was optimized by utilizing a variety of activation functions and loss functions, including Dice Loss and Intersection over Union (IoU). A high level of accuracy was demonstrated in the proposed model when it was evaluated using the LGG Segmentation Dataset. The proposed approach for segmenting medical images has been shown to be both robust and efficient in a comparative analysis. © 2025 The Authors

Artificial intelligence methods are emerging techniques used in the field of environmental protection, especially in the analysis of air, water, and soil quality. AI analyzes vast amounts of environmental data to predict pollution and provide decision-makers with the information they need to develop efficient policies. One of the most important problems in environmental analysis is data security, and many organizations are actively working to ensure the secure collection, storage, and utilization of sensitive environmental data. In addition, organizations are focusing on developing strategies to protect their data from malicious attacks, such as cyber-attacks, as well as from accidental misuses, like unauthorized access. For this purpose, we have introduced a novel water quality prediction using the Federated Learning Technique. Federated learning enables multiple parties to collaborate and train a model on their local data without sharing it with others, thereby preserving data privacy. The proposed method is applied to a Cauvery River dataset of water quality parameters, and the results demonstrate that the PSO-optimized federated learning process achieves better prediction accuracy of 87%, a precision of 85%, a recall of 93%, and an 89% F1 score. © 2023

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a form of Internet-based distributed computing that allows devices and their services to interact and execute tasks for each other. Consequently, the footprint of the IoT is increasing and becoming more complex to the highest degree. This has also given birth to new IoT-enabled applications and services. Efficient service interaction and management also call for understanding and analyzing the nature of IoT services. Further, IoT services must be characterized into various classes, and different service-related attributes must be considered for the classification. This article assesses the requirements of heterogeneous IoT services by examining their interactions. Principally, heterogeneous IoT and their service interactions are targeted. The research work performs classification of IoT services into various classes. Services are classified on the basis of various attributes. The attributes reflect different characteristics of the services. This research enables improved utilization of IoT services through efficient classification of available resources using machine learning methods. To demonstrate service classification applicability, the SVM, voting classifier, and decision tree have been applied in a service-oriented environment along with different types of services. All the services in the data set were analyzed and divided into five classes. Moreover, the decision tree performed well and achieved higher accuracy values in all classes. However, the overall prediction and classification of the decision tree model were observed to be good and satisfactorily high. © 2013 IEEE.
