In recent years, Variational AutoEncoder (VAE) based methods have made many important achievements in the field of collaborative filtering recommendation system. VAE is a kind of Bayesian model which combines latent variable model with variational inference, but its optimization is often troubled by posterior collapse. By comparing the optimization process of VAE and ordinary autoencoder, we observe that the mismatch between poorly optimized encoder and decoder with too strong characterization capabilities makes it difficult to learn the mapping from the data manifold to the parameterized graph. Since the learning of a posteriori network corresponds to the encoder, we think that the problem of a posteriori collapse can be alleviated by balancing the encoder and decoder better. Therefore, we proposed Hy-VAE, which combines conventional VAE with deterministic autoencoder, and has the advantages of both VAE and deterministic autoencoder. Experiments on three real-world recommendation data sets show that our method alleviates the posterior crash problem in VAE and improves the recommendation performance. © 2022 IEEE.

Drug discovery is of great significance in medical and biological research, while the study of Drug-Target Interaction (DTI) and Drug-Drug Interaction (DDI) can help accelerate drug discovery progress. This paper proposes a new hybrid method for DTI prediction and DDI prediction, which is called MHRW2Vec-TBAN that combines graph representation learning and neural network. MHRW2VecTBAN first constructs knowledge graph KG-DTI and KG-DDI that integrate data related to drugs and targets. Then, an improved graph representation learning model, MHRW2Vec model, is used to obtain feature vectors of reflecting the network structure information for improving the performance of representation learning. Finally, the feature vectors obtained are input to the improved neural network model TextCNN-BiLSTM-Attention Network (TBAN). The experimental results show that, compared with other existing methods, our method could discover more deeper the relationship between drugs and their potential neighborhoods, and has great improvements in DTI prediction and DDI prediction. In addition, the case study of prediction COVID-19 DTI also shows that the proposed model has the potential for actual drug discovery. © 2021 IEEE.

In this paper, Prioritized Experience Replay (PER) strategy and Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) neural network are introduced to the path planning process of mobile robots, which solves the problems of slow convergence and inaccurate perception of dynamic obstacles with the Twin Delayed Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (TD3) algorithm. We dubbed this new method as PL-TD3. Firstly, we improve the convergence speed of the algorithm by introducing PER strategy. Secondly, we use LSTM neural network to achieve the improvement of the algorithm for dynamic obstacle perception. In order to verify the method of this paper, we design static environment, dynamic environment and adaptability to dynamic experiments to compare and analyze the methods before and after improvement. The experimental results show that PL-TD3 outperforms TD3 in terms of execution time and execution path length in all environments. © 2022 IEEE.

Privacy-Preserving IoT Image Transmission: Multi-Stage SVD Data Embedding and Heatmap Alignment

The images transmitted by IoT devices, particularly those used for surveillance or sensor data, are vulnerable to malicious screenshots and unauthorized access, leading to potential privacy breaches. To address this, we propose a multi-stage Singular Value Decomposition (SVD)-based robust data-hiding scheme for JPEG images aimed at mitigating screenshot attacks. The method exploits the decorrelation properties of the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) to preprocess the carrier image, facilitating the selection of specific frequency coefficients. These coefficients undergo a dual-stage SVD transformation, where dimensionality reduction reduces the impact of noise from non-critical image regions. Additionally, we optimize Grad-CAM heatmap generation to better align with human visual perception, enabling the identification of stable and reliable feature regions for embedding secret information. This approach ensures that the visual integrity of the carrier image is maintained while preserving the legibility of the embedded information, even under *** method enhances both the visual fidelity of the carrier image and the robustness of the embedded information. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme outperforms existing methods, achieving at least a 5% improvement in confidential information extraction accuracy and a data extraction rate exceeding 95% across screenshot angles ranging from -40∘ to 40∘. Extensive evaluations confirm the superior performance, efficiency, and security of our method in mitigating screenshot attacks, showcasing its broad applicability to various image formats and resilience to distortions. © 2014 IEEE.

Integrated GRC is an area of concern for organizations today. Integrated GRC provides benefits for increasing competitiveness and organizational excellence, realizing effectiveness, efficiency, and optimization, as well as supporting the prevention of corruption and fraud. information technology has a very important role in determining the success of implementing an integrated GRC in the organization. However, based on the research conducted, adequate research on the application of information technology in the implementation of integrated GRC is still lacking. In this paper, a study will be conducted on trends and research gaps related to the application of information technology in the current integrated GRC implementation. Image forgery is the alteration of a digital image to hide some of the important and useful information. Copy-move forgery (CMF) is one of the most difficult to detect because the copied part of the image has the same characteristics as the original image. Most of the existing datasets only highlight additional attacks in the copied part. Since there are no categories of duplication elements in the datasets, this research analyzed three categories of duplication elements in CMF which are animals, food and non-living things using DEFACTO and CoMo3Dataset. The analysis is performed on PatchMatch-based detection method and the results show that the method able to maintain at least 83% for all duplication elements in both DEFACTO and CoMo3Dataset. Furthermore, the method is able to detect a minimum 92% score for the food category in both datasets.

Due to the sensitivity of data, Federated Learning (FL) is employed to enable distributed machine learning while safeguarding data privacy and accommodating the requirements of various devices. However, in the context of semi-decentralized FL, clients’ communication and training states are dynamic. This variability arises from local training fluctuations, heterogeneous data distributions, and intermittent client participation. Most existing studies primarily focus on stable client states, neglecting the dynamic challenges inherent in real-world scenarios. To tackle this issue, we propose a TRust-Aware clIent scheduLing mechanism called TRAIL, which assesses client states and contributions, enhancing model training efficiency through selective client participation. We focus on a semi-decentralized FL framework where edge servers and clients train a shared global model using unreliable intra-cluster model aggregation and inter-cluster model consensus. First, we propose an adaptive hidden semi-Markov model to estimate clients’ communication states and contributions. Next, we address a client-server association optimization problem to minimize global training loss. Using convergence analysis, we propose a greedy client scheduling algorithm. Finally, our experiments conducted on real-world datasets demonstrate that TRAIL outperforms state-of-the-art baselines, achieving an improvement of 8.7% in test accuracy and a reduction of 15.3% in training loss. This research advances our understanding of the complex relationship between environmental awareness, climate change recognition, protective behavior, and urban Environmental Quality (EQ). This study underscores the importance of environmental conservation by demonstrating the positive effects of climate-friendly and pro-environmental actions on improving EQ. These findings emphasize the need for educational institutions to play an essential role in fostering students’ environmental understanding and responsible practice, contributing to a sustainable future. Addressing the urgent problem of deteriorating urban EQ, this study offers a solution by promoting climate-friendly and pro-environmental behavior. By establishing the mediating role of protective action, this research uncovers new pathways for policymakers, educators, and urban planners to improve EQ. Innovative use of stratified sampling and advanced statistical modeling techniques ensures robust results. This research captures an important demographic ready to lead environmental initiatives by focusing on graduate students. Identifying pro-environmental behavior as a driver of EQ improvement significantly contributes to the field. In conclusion, this study underscores the importance of protective behavior in fostering a sustainable urban environment. By highlighting the linkages between environmental awareness, climate change recognition, and protective action, this study provides a comprehensive framework for promoting positive environmental change. These findings advocate for proactive higher education and urban planning strategies, pushing environmental sustainability discourse forward.

Deep Learning-Enabled ISAC-OTFS Pre-equalization Design for Aerial-Terrestrial Networks

Orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) modulation has been viewed as a promising technique for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems and aerial-terrestrial networks, due to its delay-Doppler domain transmission property and strong Doppler-resistance capability. However, it also suffers from high processing complexity at the receiver. In this work, we propose a novel pre-equalization based ISAC-OTFS transmission framework, where the terrestrial base station (BS) executes pre-equalization based on its estimated channel state information (CSI). In particular, the mean square error of OTFS symbol demodulation and Cramér-Rao lower bound of sensing parameter estimation are derived, and their weighted sum is utilized as the metric for optimizing the pre-equalization matrix. To address the formulated problem while taking the time-varying CSI into consideration, a deep learning enabled channel prediction-based pre-equalization framework is proposed, where a parameter-level channel prediction module is utilized to decouple OTFS channel parameters, and a low-dimensional prediction network is leveraged to correct outdated CSI. A CSI processing module is then used to initialize the input of the pre-equalization module. Finally, a residual-structured deep neural network is cascaded to execute pre-equalization. Simulation results show that under the proposed framework, the demodulation complexity at the receiver as well as the pilot overhead for channel estimation, are significantly reduced, while the symbol detection performance approaches those of conventional minimum mean square error equalization and perfect CSI. Real-world data ubiquitously exhibit long-tailed distribution, which sparks the increasing interest in long-tailed object detection (LTOD). However, existing methods neglect that a lack of diverse data in tail classes will cause underrepresented tail class features, making their efforts for balancing foreground classes tend to over-fit tail classes and be less effective. In this paper, we propose a multi-class co-attention generation network to increase data diversity of tail classes by generating augmented samples. To alleviate imbalance, we develop a distribution-aware up-sampling strategy, performing differential up-sampling for different classes and design a bi-directional regulation loss to adjust both positive and negative gradients. Moreover, we construct a new dataset LVIS-X with more rare classes based on existing LTOD benchmark dataset LVIS. Experiments on LVIS and LVIS-X demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method.
