Fine classification of rice paddy using multitemporal compact polarimetric SAR C band data based on machine learning methods

Rice is an important food crop for human *** distinguishing different varieties and sowing methods of rice on a large scale can provide more accurate information for rice growth monitoring,yield estimation,and phenological monitoring,which has significance for the development of modern *** polarimetric(CP)synthetic aperture radar(SAR)provides multichannel information and shows great potential for rice monitoring and ***,the use of machine learning methods to build classification models is a controversial *** this paper,the advantages of CP SAR data,the powerful learning ability of machine learning,and the important factors of the rice growth cycle were taken into account to achieve high-precision and fine classification of rice ***,CP SAR data were simulated by using the seven temporal RADARSAT-2 C-band data ***,20-two CP SAR parameters were extracted from each of the seven temporal CP SAR data *** addition,we fully considered the change degree of CP SAR parameters on a time scale(ΔCP_(DoY)).Six machine learning methods were employed to carry out the fine classification of rice *** results show that the classification methods of machine learning based on multitemporal CP SAR data can obtain better results in the fine classification of rice paddies by considering the parameters ofΔCP_(DoY).The overall accuracy is greater than 95.05%,and the Kappa coefficient is greater than *** them,the random forest(RF)and support vector machine(SVM)achieve the best results,with an overall accuracy reaching 97.32%and 97.37%,respectively,and Kappa coefficient values reaching 0.965 and 0.966,*** the two types of rice paddies,the average accuracy of the transplant hybrid(T-H)rice paddy is greater than 90.64%,and the highest accuracy is 95.95%.The average accuracy of direct-sown japonica(D-J)rice paddy is greater than 92.57%,and the highest accuracy is 96.13%.

Data poisoning attacks, where adversaries manipulate training data to degrade model performance, are an emerging threat as machine learning becomes widely deployed in sensitive applications. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of data poisoning including attack techniques, adversary incentives, impacts on security and reliability, detection methods, defenses, and key research gaps. We examine label flipping, instance injection, backdoors, and other attack categories that enable malicious outcomes ranging from IP theft to accidents in autonomous systems. Promising detection approaches include statistical tests, robust learning, and forensics. However, significant challenges remain in translating academic defenses like adversarial training and sanitization into practical tools ready for operational use. With safety and trustworthiness at stake, more research on benchmarking evaluations, adaptive attacks, fundamental tradeoffs, and real-world deployment of defenses is urgently needed. Understanding vulnerabilities and developing resilient machine learning pipelines will only grow in importance as data integrity is fundamental to developing safe artificial intelligence. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2023.

Data security in conventional applications was only available at the application layer. Within the scope of the intended research, the safety of the merchandise is ensured. The deficiencies that are present in the security systems that are already in place have led to the realisation that a new security system is required. Considering that authentication is not present, the likelihood of decryption should be reduced. Establishing a decentralised security system is essential in order to protect against threats coming from a variety of digital networks. The new encryption standard is said to improve multilayer security, according to the claims. The material is split into two halves using this method, which also provides a reliable transmission mechanism. Because of the technology, hackers are unable to create vulnerabilities in the security system. There was a need for security in both the cloud and the edge environment in order to prevent intruders. Increasing the reliability and security of data transmission over a variety of networks was the motivation for the development of the two fish approach. Because of its security mechanism, it has been able to survive assaults from crackers and hackers. The paper that is being presented advises doing research on the safety of edge transmissions that are based on slicing. In order to prevent attackers from launching attacks from several networks, it is necessary to establish decentralised security. Layered security will help increase encryption standards, which is a significant benefit. Over the course of various investigations, computer security edge generators have been the focus of attention. Quite a few of them have already been extensively discussed. Peer-to-Peer(P2P)electricity trading is a significant research area that offers maximum fulfilment for both prosumer and *** also decreases the quantity of line loss incurred in Smart Grid(SG).But,uncertainities in demand and supply of the electricity might lead to instability in P2P market for both prosumer and *** recent times,numerous Machine Learning(ML)-enabled load predictive techniques have been developed,while most of the existing studies did not consider its implicit features,optimal parameter selection,and prediction *** order to overcome fulfill this research gap,the current research paper presents a new Multi-Objective Grasshopper Optimisation Algorithm(MOGOA)with Deep Extreme Learning Machine(DELM)-based short-term load predictive technique i.e.,MOGOA-DELM model for P2P Energy Trading(ET)in *** proposed MOGOA-DELM model involves four distinct stages of operations namely,data cleaning,Feature Selection(FS),prediction,and parameter *** addition,MOGOA-based FS technique is utilized in the selection of optimum subset of ***,DELM-based predictive model is also applied in forecasting the load *** proposed MOGOA model is also applied in FS and the selection of optimalDELM parameters to improve the predictive *** inspect the effectual outcome of the proposed MOGOA-DELM model,a series of simulations was performed using UK Smart Meter *** the experimentation procedure,the proposed model achieved the highest accuracy of 85.80%and the results established the superiority of the proposed model in predicting the testing data.

Despite the incredible adoption of cryptocurrencies, blockchain-based cryptocurrencies have likewise raised some concerns. The scalability problem is the major one among them. An off-blockchain payment channel network (PCN) has been introduced to solve this issue. PCN can fundamentally reduce blockchain scalability by constructing a number of payment channels between the nodes and without committing every single transaction to the blockchain. But as a matter of fact, there has an unwanted assumption in PCN that channel participants must remain online and follow blockchain updates, for the synchronization with blockchain to protect the channel against deception. To mitigate this issue 'Watchtower' concept has been proposed. Watchtower is a watching service and always stays online that a channel participant can hire it by offering incentives for monitoring the channel and checking blockchain updates consistently to prevent fraud on behalf of the hiring party. However, watchtower may be more beneficial by cooperating with the cheating counterparty and neglecting to perform the watching service properly. The efficiency drawback can occur for that. In this work, we have been motivated by this issue and tried to find out an effective and reliable watchtower for the channel watching service from multiple watchtower nodes or candidates in the PCN. In particular, we have been approached by using the distributed Peterson Leader-Election Algorithm to find the best watchtower among multiple of them where the more successfully performed work node or candidate will be selected for the channel monitoring job. We also have provided a detailed step-by-step process of the algorithm including experiments and illustrations for employing watchtower among multiple of them. © 2022 The authors and IOS Press. Federated learning (FL) has been widely acknowledged as a promising solution to training machine learning (ML) model training with privacy preservation. To reduce the traffic overheads incurred by FL systems, edge servers have been included between clients and the parameter server to aggregate clients' local models. Recent studies on this edge-assisted hierarchical FL scheme have focused on ensuring or accelerating model convergence by coping with various factors, e.g., uncertain network conditions, unreliable clients, heterogeneous compute resources, etc. This paper presents our three new discoveries of the edge-assisted hierarchical FL scheme: 1) it wastes significant time during its two-phase training rounds;2) it does not recognize or utilize model diversity when producing a global model;and 3) it is vulnerable to model poisoning attacks. To overcome these drawbacks, we propose FedEdge, a novel edge-assisted hierarchical FL scheme that accelerates model training with asynchronous local federated training and adaptive model aggregation. Extensive experiments are conducted on two widely-used public datasets. The results demonstrate that, compared with state-of-the-art FL schemes, FedEdge accelerates model convergence by 1.14 × -3.20 ×, and improves model accuracy by 2.14% - 6.63%. © 2023 ACM.

Prevalence of Lung cancer is one of the most important categories among the various types of cancers. The basic step in the prediction of Lung Cancer is sampling of CT/MRI scan images of Lungs. An expert in that field must do thorough analysis in the detection of carcinoma in patients. Hence, there is a need for an efficient system that is capable of identifying lung cancer from multiple datasets. This ensures the condition of Cancer by observing the size of tumor and location of tumor. In our method detection of Lung cancer is performed using ZF NET Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and in the process of machine learning we have used the pre-processed dataset from Kaggle and training, validation, and testing are done appropriately to obtain accuracy of 80% and above. © 2022 IEEE.

This research highlights the importance of standards and interoperability in the IoT. An essential component of IoT ecosystems is interoperability, which refers to the ability for various systems and devices to converse and share data. Formats for data, methods of communication, and safeguards are all outlined by standards. Widespread adoption and scalability are made possible through interoperability and standards, which allow devices from many manufacturers to communicate with one another. This research investigates the alliances, regulatory authorities, and commercial associations that cooperate in the creation and advancement of open standards that can be embraced by other entities. The main objective of the research is to showcase the construction of an Internet of Things device capable of communicating with various embedded peripheral protocols utilizing Plug and Play (PnP) technology. Moreover, the research examines the impact of regulatory frameworks on the IoT ecosystem and their role in fostering interoperability. An IoT ecosystem necessitates a standardized and open environment to provide optimal performance in terms of connectivity, data exchange, and innovation. This research contributes to the progress of harmonizing and achieving interoperability among World Wide Web Things. © 2024 IEEE.

Heuristics are widely used for dealing with complex search and optimization problems. However, manual design of heuristics can be often very labour extensive and requires rich working experience and knowledge. This paper proposes Evolution of Heuristic (EoH), a novel evolutionary paradigm that leverages both Large Language Models (LLMs) and Evolutionary Computation (EC) methods for Automatic Heuristic Design (AHD). EoH represents the ideas of heuristics in natural language, termed thoughts. They are then translated into executable codes by LLMs. The evolution of both thoughts and codes in an evolutionary search framework makes it very effective and efficient for generating high-performance heuristics. Experiments on three widely studied combinatorial optimization benchmark problems demonstrate that EoH outperforms commonly used handcrafted heuristics and other recent AHD methods including FunSearch. Particularly, the heuristic produced by EoH with a low computational budget (in terms of the number of queries to LLMs) significantly outperforms widely-used human hand-crafted baseline algorithms for the online bin packing problem. This paper presents an approach to software development which uses a generative AI Model as compiler to translate human language requirements into high-level programming language. We propose an executable human-language module specification and a tool to support it, which has been used successfully for human-language UI test automation. We anticipate further development of this approach to enable complex software to be programmed in human language, allowing for more intuitive and efficient software development. © 2023 IEEE.
