Human-computer interaction influences the effectiveness of e-learning knowledge transfer, so it is necessary to pay attention to user engagement and achievement. The aim of this research is to examine the factors that support e-learning knowledge transfer through achievement and user engagement (self-efficacy, self-confidence, self-esteem). The research method was carried out by surveying e-learning users, namely students, data from students was collected through quantitative questionnaires. The data is then processed using the SmartPLS tool through two tests, namely the PLS Algorithm and Boostrapping. The model was tested using inner and outer tests, and the data was analyzed based on the research hypothesis design. Student interactions with e-learning influence several behaviors that can support e-learning knowledge transfer performance. The research results prove that student e-learning achievement has a positive impact on e-learning knowledge transfer. Several supporting factors play a role in increasing e-learning achievement, namely self-efficacy, self-confidence and self-esteem of students. However, the supporting factors for students are only self-efficacy and self-confidence which are directly able to increase e-learning knowledge transfer. It is known that students who are less able to respect themselves in interacting with e-learning are unable to support knowledge transfer. The rules of human-computer interaction play a role in supporting e-learning knowledge transfer, studies on user behavior need to be considered, especially self-efficacy and self-confidence to support online learning academic performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Prior Knowledge-Driven Hybrid Prompter Learning for RGB-Event Tracking

Event data can asynchronously capture variations in light intensity, thereby implicitly providing valuable complementary cues for RGB-Event tracking. Existing methods typically employ a direct interaction mechanism to fuse RGB and event data. However, due to differences in imaging mechanisms, the representational disparity between these two data types is not fixed, which can lead to tracking failures in certain challenging scenarios. To address this issue, we propose a novel prior knowledge-driven hybrid prompter learning framework for RGB-Event tracking. Specifically, we develop a frame-event hybrid prompter that leverages prior tracking knowledge from the foundation model as intermediate modal support to mitigate the heterogeneity between RGB and event data. By leveraging its rich prior tracking knowledge, the intermediate modal reduces the gap between the dense RGB and sparse event data interactions, effectively guiding complementary learning between modalities. Meanwhile, to mitigate the internal learning disparities between the lightweight hybrid prompter and the deep transformer model, we introduce a pseudo-prompt learning strategy that lies between full fine-tuning and partial fine-tuning. This strategy adopts a divide-and-conquer approach to assign different learning rates to modules with distinct functions, effectively reducing the dominant influence of RGB information in complex scenarios. Extensive experiments conducted on two public RGB-Event tracking datasets show that the proposed HPL outperforms state-of-the-art tracking methods, achieving exceptional performance. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Learning behavior in legged robots presents a significant challenge due to its inherent instability and complex constraints. Recent research has proposed the use of a large language model (LLM) to generate reward functions in reinforcement learning, thereby replacing the need for manually designed rewards by experts. However, this approach, which relies on textual descriptions to define learning objectives, fails to achieve controllable and precise behavior learning with clear directionality. In this paper, we introduce a new video2reward method, which directly generates reward functions from videos depicting the behaviors to be mimicked and learned. Specifically, we first process videos containing the target behaviors, converting the motion information of individuals in the videos into keypoint trajectories represented as coordinates through a video2text transforming module. These trajectories are then fed into an LLM to generate the reward function, which in turn is used to train the policy. To enhance the quality of the reward function, we develop a video-assisted iterative reward refinement scheme that visually assesses the learned behaviors and provides textual feedback to the LLM. This feedback guides the LLM to continually refine the reward function, ultimately facilitating more efficient behavior learning. Experimental results on tasks involving bipedal and quadrupedal robot motion control demonstrate that our method surpasses the performance of state-of-the-art LLM-based reward generation methods by over 37.6% in terms of human normalized score. More importantly, by switching video inputs, we find our method can rapidly learn diverse motion behaviors such as walking and running. © 2024 The Authors.

Resource scheduling catering to real-time IoT services in a serverless-enabled edge network is particularly challenging owing to the workload variability, strict constraints on tolerable latency, and unpredictability in the energy sources powering the edge devices. This paper proposes a framework LEASE that dynamically schedules resources in serverless functions catering to different microservices and adhering to their deadline constraint. To assist the scheduler in making effective scheduling decisions, we introduce a priority-based approach that offloads functions from over-provisioned edge nodes to under-provisioned peer nodes, considering the expended energy in the process without compromising the completion time of microservices. For real-world implementations, we consider a testbed comprising a Raspberry Pi cluster serving as edge nodes, equipped with container orchestrator tools such as Kubernetes and powered by OpenFaaS, an open-source serverless platform. Experimental results demonstrate that compared to the benchmarking algorithm, LEASE achieves a 23.34% reduction in the overall completion time, with 97.64% of microservices meeting their deadline. LEASE also attains a 30.10% reduction in failure rates.

The rapid growth of electronic commerce brings convenience to modern life but comes with security risks by various cybercrimes in online payment services. Most existing security methods for fraud detection depend on the static learning paradigm, which trains a model over a static training dataset and deploys the trained model for inference with the frozen model parameters under the i.i.d. assumption. Unfortunately, this paradigm becomes incommensurate with the increasingly complicated and varying fraud patterns due to the untimely and delayed responses in the offline environment. Without sensing the evolution of fraud timely, it is challenging to train and deploy targeted countermeasures. The emerging means of fraud are not only reflected in the openness of their category, but also in the drift of their superimposed risk features. The interweaving of open-category and concept drift accelerates the process of existing methods becoming powerless. In this paper, we propose EvoFD, an online evolving fraud detection framework to enable continual learning to cope with undercurrent surges of evolving fraud. The core idea of EvoFD is to weaken the bias caused by the anchoring effect on the learned information. It learns in an online streaming fashion by using instructive representations as anchors. Specially, we maintain the progressively updatable class anchors and optimize the representation network to embed features and class anchors into a unified normalized space, where the training and predicting can be conducted simultaneously or independently. In the framework, we preserve the balanced replay memory for each class to accumulate knowledge and avoid forgetting. The advantages of our method are validated by extensive experiments over the real-world dataset from a prestigious bank. © 2023 IEEE.

Real-time Safety Helmet-wearing Detection Based on Improved YOLOv5

Safety helmet-wearing detection is an essential part of the intelligentmonitoring system. To improve the speed and accuracy of detection, especiallysmall targets and occluded objects, it presents a novel and efficient detectormodel. The underlying core algorithm of this model adopts the YOLOv5 (YouOnly Look Once version 5) network with the best comprehensive detection performance. It is improved by adding an attention mechanism, a CIoU (CompleteIntersection Over Union) Loss function, and the Mish activation function. First,it applies the attention mechanism in the feature extraction. The network can learnthe weight of each channel independently and enhance the information dissemination between features. Second, it adopts CIoU loss function to achieve accuratebounding box regression. Third, it utilizes Mish activation function to improvedetection accuracy and generalization ability. It builds a safety helmet-wearingdetection data set containing more than 10,000 images collected from the Internetfor preprocessing. On the self-made helmet wearing test data set, the averageaccuracy of the helmet detection of the proposed algorithm is 96.7%, which is1.9% higher than that of the YOLOv5 algorithm. It meets the accuracy requirements of the helmet-wearing detection under construction scenarios.

This work presents an adaptive tracking guidance method for robotic fishes. The scheme enables robots to suppress external interference and eliminate motion jitter. An adaptive integral surge line-of-sight guidance rule is designed to eliminate dynamics interference and sideslip issues. Limited-time yaw and surge speed observers are reported to fit disturbance variables in the model. The approximation values can compensate for the system's control input and improve the robots' tracking ***, this work develops a terminal sliding mode controller and third-order differential processor to determine the rotational torque and reduce the robots' run jitter. Then, Lyapunov's theory proves the uniform ultimate boundedness of the proposed method. Simulation and physical experiments confirm that the technology improves the tracking error convergence speed and stability of robotic fishes.

In recent years, the global aging population has intensified, leading to a sharp increase in social security benefits and caregiving costs. The elderly face greater health risks, and their behaviors often indicate signs of crises and illnesses. The rapid development of IoT technology offers new solutions for detecting abnormal signs, thereby promoting healthy aging, independent living, and social participation for the elderly. However, the diversity of IoT devices has led to the phenomenon of personal data silos. When the elderly leave their usual IoT environment, the issue of continuity in healthcare services becomes more pronounced. To address this issue, this study proposes a decentralized Ubi-Care framework. The framework aims to achieve complete separation of data and applications. It is based on the ActivityPub protocol and integrates various data from wearable devices, smart home sensors, and social networks, storing this data in a ubiquitous personal online data store (UPOD) and assigning different roles based on data type. UPOD applications support bidirectional following, allowing users to access data associated with relevant roles, addressing issues related to data categorization, sharing, privacy, and security. Additionally, this study proposes a method for utilizing complete UPOD data to perform anomaly detection based on the hidden Markov model (HMM). By effectively integrating IoT data into UPOD and enhancing data interoperability. The data-sharing model proposed in this study also facilitates elderly individuals and their family members in sharing relevant data as needed, while ensuring privacy protection. The methods proposed in this study will help prevent accidental injuries and enable early diagnosis of diseases, providing strong technical support for elderly healthcare. © 2024 IEEE.

The number of electronic devices involved in cyber related crimes has increased significantly in the last few years. This is primarily due to advancements in technology and increased accessibility to devices. This poses significant challenges with respect to forensic investigations as investigators are faced with processing huge volumes of data from various sources within a limited time. Due to the urgency, frequency, and magnitude of some cases, investigators may miss deadlines, and crucial leads. In this paper, we consider these above stated challenges and propose a new definition for big data forensics, which recognises the time aspect and variety of sources when carrying our digital forensics. This definition will help digital forensic tool designers consider these critical aspects and design comprehensive tools to combat the limitations of the current state-of-the-art. We review an existing tool, the Forensic Cloud Environment (FCE), against the proposed definition. We show how its design leverages the power of Hadoop Distributed File system (HDFS), HBase, and MapReduce to provide a comprehensive solution for big data forensics. In conclusion, we provide an argument for FCE as a solution for resolving big data forensic challenges based on general Scientific Working Group on Digital Evidence (SWGDE) forensic principles. © 2022 IEEE.
