Insulating vegetable oils are fire-resistant and environment-friendly liquid dielectrics. This paper presents a type of nano-modified insulating vegetable oil. The nano-modified insulating vegetable oil was prepared by homogeneous precipitation deposition of ferroferric oxide nano-particles. It was characterized by a laser nano-particle size analyzer. Its electric properties, including AC breakdown voltage, lightning impulse breakdown voltage, volume resistivity, relative permittivity, and dissipation factor were measured. Experiment results show that the ferroferric oxide nano-pariticles with proper content in oil improves the breakdown voltages, volume resistivity, and lightning impulse electrical strength of the insulating vegetable oil significantly.

In this paper, we first propose a specification ap-proach combining interface automata and Z language. This approach can be used to describe temporal properties and data properties of software components. A branching time logic for ZIAs is presented. We then give an algorithm for model checking this logic on ZIAs with finite domain. Furthermore, we present a mu-calculus logic for ZIAs, and give a model checking algorithm for this logic.

An automatic virtual metrology framework (AVMF) for the TFT-LCD industry is designed and implemented in this paper. The AVMF has capabilities of creating VM models, deploying and refreshing VM models, monitoring and managing VM systems remotely, storing model data and conjectured results centrally, and providing various friendly graphical user interfaces. Pluggable interfaces and functional modules are developed in the AVMF. Thus, by plugging the associated functional module according to desired requirements, the AVMF can be applied to different types of equipment. In turn, applying the AVMF to all pieces of equipment in the factory can be easily achieved. A paradigm AVM system for our cooperative TFT-LCD company is constructed. Integrated testing results show that the paradigm AVMS works smoothly, meets the desired functional requirements, and demonstrates a good performance. It is believed that the developed AVMF can be practically applied in the TFT-LCD industries.

Risks include the factors that might adversely affect project outcomes. Risk analysis includes the processes concerned with identifying, analyzing and developing security strategy and plans for the factors. Although currently there are known methodologies such as (CCTA Risk Analysis and Management Method (CRAMM) or Consultative, Objective and Bi-functional Risk Analysis (COBRA) and so on) for Risk Management, they have common failure for instance no specific function which recover/avoid risks/attacks toward IS/IT component or poor executive support, high cost of implementation, untimely response, insufficient accountability, inability to qualitatively measure control environment, infrequent in assessment, inaccurate data. On one hand these problems and on the other hand importance of IS/IT Risk Management cause the research to develop the current methodologies by making them intelligent as like as the natural management systems, it means that Immune system for example which is a complete system and could be the best model for simulating it with Risk Management in the organizations. However the findings of this study are important to help organizations toward improving IS/IT Risk Analysis process which are designed and proposed by investigation about their current procedure and problems of Risk Management. So the information as findings of this paper could be published and more extensive studies could be planned for the future.

This paper proposes a systematic gain setting method for the positive feedback anti-islanding scheme which is designed to protect the interconnected inverter-based distributed generators (DGs) from islanding operation. Two main factors affecting the performance of the anti-islanding scheme are investigated when the positive feedback gain is tuned. One is the stability impact of the anti-islanding control on distributed generation (DG) systems and the other is the islanding detection time of the anti-islanding scheme. The small-signal model and the electromagnetic transient simulation model of an inverter-based DG system are developed to facilitate the realization of the proposed gain setting method. This method provides a practical and reliable tool for DG planning engineers.

Because it is almost impossible to train the dispatchers with real power system, the dispatcher training simulator (DTS) is used for the training. Among various components of the DTS, the power system model (PSM) emulates the dynamic behavior of the power system to calculate the frequency and voltage. In the PSM, the power plants are modeled as differential equations, so the mechanical power of the power plants is calculated by the numerical methods. Conventionally, the fixed step-size algorithm has been used in the PSM, however it has some drawbacks. This paper develops the prototype PSM using the Matlab, and analyzes the problems of the fixed step-size algorithm by comparing the results with those of PSCAD simulation considered as a real system. In order to overcome the limitations, the adaptive step size method for the PSM is proposed by modifying the general adaptive step size method. From the simulation using the proposed method, it is verified that the accuracy of the PSM is increased.

Using the multiple-parameter Monte Carlo method, the effectiveness of the dual threshold voltage technique (DTV) in low power domino logic design is analyzed. Simulation results indicate that under significant temperature and process fluctuations, DTV is still highly effective in reducing the total leakage and active power consumption for domino gates with speed loss. Also, regarding power and delay characteristics, different structure domino gates with DTV have different robustness against temperature and process fluctuation.

Solving the Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaacs (HJI) equation, commonly used in H_(infinity) optimal control, is often referred to as a two-player differential game where one player tries to minimize the cost function while the other tries to maximize it. In this paper, the HJI equation is formulated online and forward-in-time using a novel single online approximator (SOLA)-based scheme to achieve optimal regulation and tracking control of affine nonlinear continuous-time systems. The SOLA-based adaptive approach is designed to learn the infinite horizon HJI equation, the corresponding optimal control input, and the worst case disturbance. A novel parameter tuning algorithm is derived which not only achieves the optimal cost function, control input, and the disturbance, but also ensures the system states remain bounded during the online learning. Lyapunov methods are used to show that all signals are uniformly ultimately bounded (UUB) while ensuring the approximated signals approach their optimal values with small bounded error. In the absence of OLA reconstruction errors, asymptotic convergence to the optimal signals is demonstrated, and simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the approach.
