Background: Histopathology diagnosis is often regarded as the final diagnostic method for malignant tumors, but it has some drawbacks. This paper explores a computer-aided diagnostic method that can identify benign and malignant gastric cancer with histopathology images. Method: This article obtains the most suitable process through multiple experiments, compared multiple methods and features for classification. Firstly, the U-net is applied to segment the image. Next, the nucleus is extracted from the segmented image and the Minimum Spanning Tree (MST) diagram structure is drawn. The third step is to extract the graph-curvature features of histopathology image according to the MST image. Finally, by inputting graph-curvature features into the classifier, the recognition results for benign or malignant can be obtained. Result: During the experiment, we use various methods for comparison. In the image segmentation stage, U-net, watershed algorithm and Otsu threshold segmentation methods are used respectively. Combined with multiple indicators, we find that the U-net method is the most suitable for segmentation of histopathology images. In the feature extraction stage, in addition to extracting graph-edge feature and graph-curvature feature, several basic image features are also extracted, including Red, Green, Blue feature, Gray-Level Co-occurrence Matrix feature, Histogram of Oriented Gradient feature, and Local Binary Pattern feature. In the classifier design stage, we experimented with various methods, such as Support vector machine (SVM), Random forest, Artificial Neural Network, K Nearest Neighbors, VGG-16 and Inception-V3. Through the comparison and analysis, the classification results with an accuracy of 98.57% can be obtained by inputting the graph-curvature feature into SVM classifier. Indoor maps are required for multiple applications, such as, navigation, building maintenance and robotics. One of common methods for map generation is laser scanning. In such maps, not only geometry of the map is of interest, but also its quality. This study aims at developing methods for real-time generation of indoor maps using features extracted from pointclouds obtained by a robot with their simultaneous quality assessment. We investigate, how this quality can be quantified for feature-based maps. First, we introduce a method for modeling 2D maps into 3D models that enable their usage for localization. Second, we review and evaluate a number of algorithms that can enable us to address features in a map. Hence, we enable the generation of objects from a pointcloud that has been sensed. Finally, we study several aspects of the map quality and we formalize them into metrics that can be applied to quantify their quality. © Authors 2019.

The wellbeing assessment of older people is becoming crucial in today’s era of aging and home care in order to provide the best possible care. New technologies are being used to assist older people at home, which generates an extensive amount of health and wellbeing information. The application of artificial intelligence algorithms to this healthcare and wellbeing data can enhance patient care and provide support to professionals by reducing their cognitive load. These algorithms can detect anomalous physiological, physical, and cognitive conditions in older individuals, which can help to identify emergency situations, or the early detection of an emerging health condition. However, while there has been relevant research in the field of anomaly detection for various engineering applications, there is little knowledge about healthcare and wellbeing-related anomaly detection. To this end, in this article, we propose an innovative system for detecting behavioral anomalies for older people that are being monitored at home with the aim of improving their lifestyle and wellbeing as well as the early detection of any physical or cognitive condition.

In the era of global digitalization, digital innovation hubs have become essential, as they function as transforming forces. In this paper, we provide an analysis of the Montenegrin Academic Digital Innovation Hub by applying multi-criteria qualitative evaluation over several criteria: process flow of fully digitized operations of the Hub (with aspects of the innovation life-cycle, ethics, and security), resource management, strategic goals, and feasibility. The paper also proposes a model of comprehensive resource management via the perspective of smart specialization priorities of Montenegro.

With the advancement of information technology in the recent decades, digital and online services have become essential components of everyday life in Europe. Montenegro is no different in this regard. However, as digital literacy in the country is still in a developing phase in comparison with most countries of the EU, a higher portion of its citizens may rely on assistive technical communication. In this paper, we provide a case study on the assistive technical communication of Montenegrin eServices. The work addresses the sectors of online banking, healthcare services, higher education, national administrative services, and utilities. Our findings highlight the diversity in terms of implemented assistive technical communication, and distinguish usage contexts on the level of adequacy. Yet as the functionalities of Montenegrin eServices are expected to gradually expand in the upcoming years, assistive technical communication must aim to handle the higher extents of service complexity.

Linearization-based quantized stabilization of nonlinear systems under DoS attacks

Motivated by recent security issues in cyber-physical systems, this technical note studies the stabilization problem of networked control systems under Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks. In particular, we consider to stabilize a nonlinear system with limited data rate via linearization. We employ a deterministic DoS attack model constrained in terms of attacks’ frequency and duration, allowing us to cover a large class of potential attacks. To achieve asymptotic stabilization, we propose a resilient dynamic quantizer in the sense that it does not saturate in the presence of packet losses caused by DoS attacks. A sufficient condition for stability is derived by restricting the average DoS frequency and duration. In addition, because of the locality of linearization, we explicitly investigate an estimate of the region of attraction, which can be expected to be reduced depending on the strength of DoS attacks. The orbit problem for parametric linear dynamical systems

We study a parametric version of the Kannan-Lipton Orbit Problem for linear dynamical systems. We show decidability in the case of one parameter and Skolem-hardness with two or more parameters. More precisely, consider a d-dimensional square matrix M whose entries are algebraic functions in one or more real variables. Given initial and target vectors u, v ∈ Qd, the parametric point-to-point orbit problem asks whether there exist values of the parameters giving rise to a concrete matrix N ∈ Rd×d, and a positive integer n ∈ N, such that Nnu = v. We show decidability for the case in which M depends only upon a single parameter, and we exhibit a reduction from the well-known Skolem Problem for linear recurrence sequences, suggesting intractability in the case of two or more parameters. This paper proposes three fractional discrete chaotic systems based on the Rulkov,Chang,and Zeraoulia–Sprott rational *** dynamics of the proposed maps are investigated by means of phase plots and bifurcations *** stabilization schemes are proposed for each of the three maps and the convergence of the states is established by using the Lyapunov ***,a combination synchronization scheme is proposed whereby a combination of the fractional Rulkov and Chang maps is synchronized to the fractional Zeraoulia-Sprott *** results are used to confirm the findings of the paper.

Consumer’s privacy is a main concern in Smart Grids (SGs) due to the sensitivity of energy data, particularly when used to train machine learning models for different services. These data-driven models often require huge amounts of data to achieve acceptable performance leading in most cases to risks of privacy leakage. By pushing the training to the edge, Federated Learning (FL) offers a good compromise between privacy preservation and the predictive performance of these models. The current paper presents an overview of FL applications in SGs while discussing their advantages and drawbacks, mainly in load forecasting, electric vehicles, fault diagnoses, load disaggregation and renewable energies. In addition, an analysis of main design trends and possible taxonomies is provided considering data partitioning, the communication topology, and security mechanisms.
