The optimal power flow (OPF) is a mathematical optimization computation used in electrical power systems engineering to determine the most efficient and cost-effective way to operate a power grid while meeting various constraints and objectives. Furthermore, nowadays, with the increasing assimilation of renewable energy resources like wind and solar power into the grid, the OPF becomes even more critical. These sources are variable and intermittent, and OPF can help manage their integration by adjusting conventional generation and grid infrastructure to maintain system stability and reliability. This manuscript presents how to acquire OPF in power systems with the incorporation of wind power producers (WPP). The objective function of this work is minimizing generation costs and network losses. A modified technique called incremental particle swarm optimization (IPSO) is proposed to resolve the non-convex and non-linear OPF hindrance effectually. IPSO is a variant of the classic PSO in which a new particle is included to the population at each iteration, and the new particle adjusts its position based on information from other particles with "social learning"rules. The WPP outputs are set varies to assess the effectiveness of IPSO OPF for various levels of WPP outputs. Simulations are performed for conventional OPF, PSO OPF, and IPSO OPF and evaluate the efficacy of the proposed method. © 2023 IEEE.

This proposed system is designed for creating a new way of giving personalized recommendations by focusing on people's behaviors and preferences. The system uses traditional machine learning algorithms integrating it with deep learning techniques to get the most out of data and suggest recommendations which are designed according to each individual's unique preferences. A deep learning autoencoder is used to learn a lower-dimensional representation of the data, with an assurance on feature extraction and reconstruction accuracy. The encoded features are passed to be clustered using KMeans, with the effectiveness of clustering estimated through internal validation metrics such as silhouette score, Calinski-Harabasz index, and Davies-Bouldin index. Also, t-Distributed Stochastic Neighbor Embedding (t-SNE) is utilized for visualizing clustered data in a simple manner. Additionally, a silhouette plot is given to provide a visual representation of the silhouette scores across clusters, highlighting the degree of cohesion within clusters and separation between them. Finally, using cosine similarity that identifies similar users within the same cluster. © 2024 IEEE.

Visible light communication(VLC),which is a prominent emerging solution that complements the radio frequency(RF)technology,exhibits the potential to meet the demands of fifth-generation(5G)and beyond *** random movement of mobile terminals in the indoor environment is a challenge in the VLC *** model of optical attocells has a critical role in the uniform distribution and the quality of communication links in terms of received power and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR).As such,the optical attocells positions were optimized in this study with a developed try and error(TE)*** optimized optical attocells were examined and compared with previous *** novel approach had successfully increased minimum received power from−1.29 to−0.225 dBm,along with enhanced SNR performance by 2.06 *** bit error rate(BER)was reduced to 4.42×10−8 and 6.63×10−14 by utilizing OOK-NRZ and BPSK modulation techniques,*** optimized attocells positions displayed better uniform distribution,as both received power and SNR performances improved by 0.45 and 0.026,*** the results of the proposed model are optimal,it is suitable for standard office and room model applications.

The specification of experiments expressed as Complex Analytics Workflows is a complex task that involves many decision-making steps with various degrees of complexity. The use of the context, the expert knowledge, and the potential for its sharing and reuse in the context of experiment specification have not been addressed sufficiently until now. Moreover, to make such knowledge instrumental, it should be coupled with specific probabilistic measures, such as particular assurances, ranking, and verification of various options. The paper aims to present a novel semantic model for probabilistic reasoning in any experimentation context coupled with a functional system for knowledge generation, reuse, and sharing. This paper presents an object detection and classification of the objects using Deep Learning (DL). The integration of object detection algorithms and depth camera developed is capable of providing robots, such as self developed assistive intelligent robot called 'ROSWITHA' (RObot System WITH Autonomy) with the ability to detect an object and interpret their surrounding environment. It also provides the real-world coordinates/position of the object in that environment, which helps the robot to perform some applications, such as grabbing and serving, etc. You Only Look Once (YOLO) is one of the most popular object detection algorithms which is treated as a single regression problem and is processed by a single neural network. In this work, the YOLOv5 (YOLO version 5) network is implemented on a depth camera 'RealSense' for processing object detection and estimating the position of the objects. The model is trained on reduced/filtered application-required objects (e.g. bottle and cup) from the available COCO dataset, and the training outcome alongside the performance of the overall system was evaluated. The results exhibited a satisfactory performance of the model in accurately detecting and classifying the objects with a high confidence score ranging from the least to7 2% to the highest of9 0%. The confidence score could also be adjusted by the user on the developed GUI to attain the most certain predictions. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper investigates the influence of local lag on the reaction forces in a networked virtual maze system incorporating haptic feedback by experiment. In the experiment, participants move a box from the starting position to the target point by using Raising method with haptic device. We measure the average operation time and the average of average reaction force for three different moving velocities and three distinct local lags. Experimental results reveal that as the moving velocity increases and the local lag becomes higher, the two measures become larger. Thus, we illustrate that there exists a strong relationship among the average operation time, the average of average reaction force, moving velocity, and local lag, through multiple regression analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

In the transformative field of mineral processing, the need for innovative technologies to overcome inherent difficulties and a critical shortage of high-quality data is an acute challenge. This study addresses these pressing issues by leveraging advanced spatio-temporal deep learning techniques, specifically Convolutional Long Short-Term Memory (ConvLSTM). Focused on the Zinc flotation circuit at CMG Managem group in Morocco, our comprehensive approach encompasses meticulous data collection from a real-world industrial setting, rigorous spatial and temporal analyses, practical and accurate data augmentation, and the development of a ConvLSTM model for precise prediction of mineral grades. By capturing the temporal intricacies of froth behavior through video data, we gain insights into mineral concentration fluctuations, a critical aspect of traditional analysis. By offering a comprehensive solution that combines cutting-edge technology, meticulous data analysis, and practical augmentation methods, we aim to elevate not only mineral processing efficiency but also a broader spectrum of resource utilization and sustainable practices. This study offers a promising solution to elevate mineral processing efficiency and accuracy in the face of data limitations. Keyphrase extraction aims to extract a set of keyphrases from the input document that highly summarizes the document. One of the issue in keyphrase extraction is how to extract representative keyphrases that is relevance and describe the information in the document. This study addresses pretrained language model (PLM) and topic-guided graph attention network (TgGAT) to extract a set of keyphrases from the input document. PLM can effectively capture knowledge from massive data and well perform on both language understanding and language generation tasks. BERT is one of PLM that designed to process bidirectionally, allowing BERT to understand word context based on the surrounding words. To enhance the keyphrase relevance, latent-dirichlet allocation used to learn the latent topic information and aiding the semantic understanding of the input document. For capturing semantic relationships between phrases in document based on their topics, this study used TgGAT. TgGAT models the anchoraware graph which organizes the initial anchor phrases. Experiment was conducted on a dataset containing 100 Indonesian accredited scientific article, Sinta 2 and Sinta 3, to evaluate the system' $s$ performance. The experimental results show a precision value of 0.058, a recall value of 0.070, and an F1-score of 0.062 for the five generated keywords across the entire tested dataset. Further in-depth analyses shows that pattern of phrases used has the important role in determining the representative phrases in input document. © 2024 IEEE.

Automatic person identification (API) using human biometrics is essential and highly demanded compared to traditional API methods, where a person is automatically identified using his/her distinct characteristics including speech, fingerprint, iris, handwritten signatures, and others. The fusion of more than one human biometric produces bimodal and multimodal API systems that normally outperform single modality systems. This paper presents our work towards fusing speech and handwritten signatures for developing a bimodal API system, where fusion was conducted at the decision level due to the differences in the type and format of the features extracted. A data set is created that contains recordings of usernames and handwritten signatures of 100 persons (50 males and 50 females), where each person recorded his/her username 30 times and provided his/her handwritten signature 30 times. Consequently, a total of 3000 utterances and 3000 handwritten signatures were collected. The speech API used Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) technique for features extraction and Vector Quantization (VQ) for features training and classification. On the other hand, the handwritten signatures API used global features for reflecting the structure of the hand signature image such as image area, pure height, pure width and signature height and the Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) architecture of Artificial Neural Network for features training and classification. Once the best matches for both the speech and the handwritten signatures API are produced, the fusion process takes place at decision level. It computes the difference between the two best matches for each modality and selects the modality of the maximum difference. Based on our experimental results, the bimodal API obtained an average recognition rate of 96.40%, whereas the speech API and the handwritten signatures API obtained average recognition rates of 92.60% and 75.20%, respectively.
